He is a University of Michigan Alumni
Faricy graduated in 1995 from the University of Michigan with an MBA and has served as the Vice-Chairman on the Dean’s Advisory Board since 2013. He also serves on the board at Seattle Prep High School.

He Worked for Ford Motor Company and Borders Books Before Amazon
Faricy served as an Executive director at Ford from 1999-2003. After that, he moved on and became the Vice President of Multimedia at Borders Books from 2002-2006. The position primed him for his days at Amazon.
He Was the Vice President of Music and Movies at Amazon
Peter was the Vice President of Music and Movies at Amazon for three years before becoming Vice President of the Amazon Marketplace. His experience at Border’s made the transition natural.
Faricy oversaw all of Amazon’s music and movie product categories in North America, including customer experience and vendor management.
Peter’s move from Borders to Amazon came at a critical point time. Borders was fading out of the consumer picture and Amazon was in the midst of its expansion.
He Was the Vice President of the Amazon Marketplace
Peter Faircy served at Amazon for twelve years, which brought continued growth and success for the company. At Amazon, Faricy coordinated much of the company’s efforts to incorporate third-party sellers.
Due to counterfeits, Amazon decided to change its company philosophy from connecting retailers to third-parties to retail-centric. The difference is that Amazon sources products like watches, electronics, and toiletries directly from brands, rather than connecting third-party sellers with buyers.
Organizational shifts took place as well, relieving Faricy of many of his responsibilities, and ultimately leading him to move on from the company.
He Now Serves as the CEO of Global Direct-to-Consumer
Peter Faricy’s experience at Amazon served him well, and it has created many opportunities for the successful businessman. He now serves as CEO of Global Direct-to-Consumer and is in charge of worldwide digital and direct-to-consumer businesses for Discovery, Inc.
Faricy is in charge of Discovery’s U.S. Digital portfolio, which includes Discoverys GO TV, Eurosport Player, and Discovery Kids. As Discovery continues to navigate the changing media and technology landscape, Faricy maintains Discovery’s reputation as a direct-to-consumer media leader.
