You’re staring bleary-eyed at the screen. This is only your tenth topic and you’re just ready to smash your head through your monitor.

I get it. The SEO numbers game is so damn mind-numbing sometimes. And if you just aren’t seeing results or it’s taking more time than it’s worth, then you’re probably ready to just quit.

Don’t quit just yet. You can get other people to do your work for you. And it’s usually cheaper than you think, especially considering the time you save.

Here’s how to tell whether you should outsource to an SEO service.

What to Consider

Most of the time, price is equally correlated with quality. If you’re looking for pro-level content, you’re going to have to pay for pro-level content from a pro-level managed SEO company.

If you’re looking for something that’s great when it comes to numbers boosting, you can sacrifice on content quality. Just know that you might end up having to re-write your content if you choose a cheaper option.

Goals

How much of your marketing strategy relies on SEO? If it’s a small portion of your marketing strategy, ask yourself, do I really need this?

If you can make do with only content marketing and ads, why spend the money?

If it’s a large part of your marketing plan, then go hire someone immediately.

Time

What is your time worth? If you make $50/hour and it costs less than $50 an hour for SEO, you’re actually making money rather than spending it.

Why?

Because guess what, you’d end up spending twice as much time on SEO than an SEO expert. When you spend $50 for SEO services, you’re buying two hours of time. That’s $50 more in your pocket.

Identity

How little quality can you afford. When people go to your site and they see the content posted there, are they going to leave?

This is what you need to ask yourself. Can your brand survive low quality search optimized content?

Are you trying to establish yourself as an expert? Then you’ll need an expert to write your content.

Why Outsource?

91.5% of search traffic goes to the first page of any Google search result. Can you get your content on the first page of Google?

It takes a lot of time and effort to get on that first page. If you don’t want to spend the time and you have the capital, SEO services are a worthy investment.

My personal opinion? Outsource so you can focus on what you truly love doing. If you want to know more about my philosophy on shallow work and deep work, check out my article on Shoemoney.
