The dangers of sitting in a desk

Friday at 10am I was sitting at my desk talking on the phone with my attorney. Nothing serious just our normal weekly "touching base" call. Then all of a sudden I felt my knee "pop". It has done this for about 15 years or so... I had always extended it and it pops itself back in. Its painful when it happens but I never thought it was that big of deal. Yesterday when it poped I couldn't get it back in by extending my leg.... and had to end the call abruptly with my attorney. I called in a couple people to my office and told them I needed to goto the emergency room. My knee hurt like a motherf*cker. I couldn't put any weight on it what so ever and it was locked in a bent position. When I got to the emergency room they had everything ready to go... Thats a huge advantage of having your wife be an anesthesiologist at the hospital. The anesthesia machines don't scare me at all and I'm quite familiar with them, even though I haven't needed them until now. The surgeon was right there ready to check it out. Just by feeling round he knew what it was. The meniscus had torn free and was caught underneath something in my knee. I had a MRI and 1 hour later emergency surgery was scheduled for this morning. I opted to stay awake for surgery and actually had very little anesthesia (besides the block). I felt no pain and the surgeon was really cool and let me watch the monitors of what he was doing. He explained everything. It was really pretty cool. My meniscus has been repaired but I am ordered on bed rest for 5 days and no weight on my leg for a month. And people say office work isn't dangerous....
