  1. I’m a little confused by the lack of attention your giving to your personal blog as of late. Are you offering the lesson that personal blogs really aren’t that profitable and the other products and services are the place to focus?

    1. Hmmm i dunno in the 8 years this blog has been up there has not really been a consistant posting schedule. Its never been my primary focus.

      Been really busy with other projects

      1. You may have already done it, I’m not sure, too many posts to look through, but….

        Why not do a post on what this blog does for you? Why would you spend time working on this site if other opportunities were more profitable?

    2. I’m kind of getting that same feeling – maybe we should go brick and mortar and just promote it on the web?

  2. OIO Publisher is a very good Plugin and easy to use. Good choice!

  3. Good recommendations. The Add Post Footer plugin and footer RSS plugins are the two that, if I add it all up, have been the most profitable for me in terms of direct results. I used to have a tendency for going plugin crazy but then I worked out – a lot of plugins cause pages to load slower, slower loading pages make for poorer search engine performance, so I was really losing more than gaining.

  4. For those of us who are very hard of hearing, could you print the names of the plugins you mention in the video?

  5. I once made a list of my 20 favourite WordPress plug-ins: http://www.markusossi.fi/20-parasta-wordpressin-lisaosaa/

    I actually use all of these plug-ins and have found them to be really, really useful. The blog post is in Finnish which kind of like fits the theme here today…

    However, you can always run it through Google Translate: http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=fi&tl=en&u=http://www.markusossi.fi/20-parasta-wordpressin-lisaosaa/&act=url

  6. What about All in One SEO, pretty useful for niche sites etc. Not for blogs like this though

  7. Here are some that I like a lot for my multiple WP sites:
    * Exclude Pages from Navigation
    * Google Sitemap
    * Pretty Link (my absolute new favorite)
    * Sharebar
    * Social Profiles Widget
    * All In One SEO

    1. Agreed! There’s already 5 million “top wordpress plugins” articles out there. I can’t believe they even bothered to answer this question in the first place but who cares about the most popular plugins everyone already knows about. If they don’t want to reveal their secrets obviously OK but answer something else more useful!

  8. CS Forms rock because you can create awesome forms on the fly. Not sure for a big site, but for a small site it saves Dev time for sure. All-in-one SEO is great for those using unoptimized blog themes. If you use a framework like Thesis it’s not necessarily needed. Akismet is a no-brainer. I also really dig the Thesis Open Hook plug-in because it makes modifying Thesis extremely easy for non PHP types. And, course, I use my own custom plug-in to track how my PPC keywords convert into affiliate sales.

  9. Thanks for the tip. I will have to look into the OIO.
    Just my silly suggestion on a good plug in. Just in case it helps somebody. “Sociable” is pretty good that allows non-html folks to install the share links on your blog.

    Pretty simple to setup also.

    Anyhow – this ones for you shoemoney as it pertains to staying classy.

    “And thanks for stopping by World Wide Web” LOL

    I Love Lamp – I Love Blogging. 8) Peace.

  10. Nice Information
    Thanks For That Information.
    I am Going To Bookmark your blog
    Thanks Again
    Gaurav Garg

  11. Jeremy – Thanks for your OIO Publisher recommendation.

    I’ll add it to my list when answering the “What are the best WordPress Plugins?” question!

    Wish you the best!

    Robert

    PS. Broken Link Checker is a top one on my list – must have!

  12. Yo! Mr Shoe

    What was the exact name of your photo gallery plugin? I like how you have it setup here, or is that custom as well?

  13. Interesting, would like to know more about what custom plugins you are using and why not just use readily available ones?
