  1. Vinay, Congratulations, you’re a very lucky person and I’m confident you’re going to have a great time.

As I read through the posts from contestants, I noticed a trend from some that suggested Shoemoney is the big winner in this contest, and while I agree their is benefit to doing this, I would disagree that he’s the big winner.

There are many struggling want-to-be entrepreneurs that entered this contest who have the perservance to stick with it, but haven’t figured it out yet. I’m admittedly one of them. Still, we are the big winners from the exposure we received just by entering the contest.

I believe everyone that submitted an entry should join me in thanking Shoemoney for having this contest. Thanks Shoemoney….

    1. Starting out isn’t as easy as I expected. But soon enough I found my groove and starting seeing some of the results I wanted. You’re right about the good exposure this contest afforded those who gave it a shot. So congratulations to everyone especially Vinay who did an awesome job of convincing the voters and judges to pick him.

    1. You’ve done a good job yourself as one of the finalists. Congratulations, y’all!

  2. Congrats Vinay!!! Have a great time. Look forward to hearing about what you learned.

    1. Are you going to do some live blogging at the ASW sessions you’re planning to attend? Looking forward to reading some interesting insights about the conference.

  3. Congrats Vinay. You really blew it out with the votes. Even the great John Chow email campaign couldn’t keep you down!

Shoe: Thanks for running the contest-I saw a huge traffic spike from your site as a result, so that’s a good thing. I also got a crash course in Social Media Marketing-very good too. I am looking forward to meeting you and attending the conference (and the many parties).

Shoemoney staffers: “This guy” is named “Rob” ;o)

I’ll see all you folks there- I won a Gold pass from Mr. Chow and plan to be there Saturday-if the weather holds in Boston.

    On to VEGAS!!!!!!!!

    1. All the best to everyone who will be going at ASW! I hope I’d be able to attend the next one.

  4. I can’t believe that Donny didn’t win. I really thought he would have it locked with the paid John Chow post. It was fun to participate and very -interesting- to read the Electron Plumber’s research into how this contest was “won”.

I do think that voters should have had to go to Shoemoney.com to vote and that they should have at least known what they were voting for.

For all you participants, if you’ll be at ASW this week, Hit ME UP! I’ll buy you a beer.

      1. LOL good one! I won’t say no to that offer though. You can just collect it in case the free drinks run out.

    1. Seriously. We now have a good idea of the number of hits you can expect for a $500 John Chow post. Vinay got a far better value from his $0.05 per vote.

      1. I’ll keep the strategies they used in mind next time I join a contest. After reading all the posts, I’d say everybody did their best to win this. Kudos and more power to you all!

      2. A wise investment. The ROI more than made up for the cost of running that brief campaign.

    2. I think everyone did a good job with their posts. I really enjoyed reading them.

    3. I don’t know how the contest was won but it sure looks like the winner’s had tons of luck on his side.

    4. To tell you the truth, I’ve had my bet on Danger Brown to bring home the bacon. Nonetheless, all is fair in love and war.

    1. You met the challenge with determination, strength, and total confidence — and now you’ll be surrounded with beautiful women (just like me) on the next Playboy shindig. Congrats!

  5. Yeah Vinay was amazing, he is going to get the logo tattoo’d on his back! Anybody who does that has balls, that’s all I gotta say, he deserves to win.

I personal voted for Donny, but hey, u can’t really compete with what Vinay’s gonna do.

    1. The tattoo’s not a done deal, right? He said he’ll get one if he wins at blackjack.

        1. This calls for a celebration. How about treating us to a round of Manhattans at Club Orange in an hour? πŸ˜€

  6. Congrats on winning by such a landslide! I know all the contestants will be going on to do great things in our industry. Have fun in Vegas Vinay!

  7. Awesome Contest Jeremy! Congratulations to Vinay on the Win! What a great opportunity for everyone involved. Have a blast in Las Vegas Vinay!

    1. Good luck with your blackjack game. Hope you win so you could have that tattoo you promised you’ll get.

      1. Give the world the best you have and the best will come to you! Congratulations, buddy.

  8. Wow thanks everyone! Its been an intense few days.

Thanks to all the contestants, you really gave me a run for my money and it was very interesting and educational to see you all take over the internet for the last few days.

Lastly a SUPER BIG thanks to Shoemoney and his sexy staff. I will see you all in Vegas!!

    1. Awesome! You sure hit the jackpot. Share photos of the Playboy Mansion Party man.

  9. Nice one! ASW 2011 and Playboy Mansion Party – now that’s two awesome events to look forward to.

    1. I now have an idea who’s going to join the ranks of Rebecca Kelley, Lisa Barone and Justin Goff as guest contributors.

  10. Lucky you! I’ll be attending ASW for the first time this year but I won’t be able to attend the monetize summit since I’ve only signed up the gold pass. Hope you can share some highlights on the sessions you get to attend.

    1. I went last year and it went great. Learned a lot and met a lot of awesome people. Too bad I won’t be able to attend ASW this year though. I’m sure it’ll be fun for everyone who’s going.

  11. Convincing post. No wonder you won by a huge margin. Best of luck at the blackjack table!

      1. What an accomplishment! Who knows maybe one of us newbies will join you there someday.

  12. Will check out that free video training course on building on online store. Thanks. And congratulations for winning the contest. Have fun!

    1. This is just the beginning of the bright path thatÒ€ℒs filled with your hopes and dreams.

    1. Atta boy! I know there are a lot of male Shoemoney fans out there who’ll give an arm and leg just to get their hands on a free Playboy Mansion party pass…

    2. I am confident that your victory will be an important key to unlocking doors to your potential. You are already a success.

    1. I’m sure Vinay’s celebrating right now. Hope you could share your skills to us greenhorns.

  13. I read your post/response to the controversy. Very interesting. I think it just proved further that you deserve the win. Congratulations!

  14. Wow! This is a really great way to start off your way, Vinay. Keep up the good work. πŸ˜›

  15. My warmest congratulations to the contest winner! (By the way, what happened to Justin Goff’s follow-up post?)

  16. I am reading a lot about Vinay’s post in the thread but I don’t see a link that’ll lead me to it.

    1. There are links of all the finalists’ posts in one of ShoeMoney’s previous posts. You can got check it out there.

    1. Congratulations on your great accomplishment. It just goes to prove that hard work and dedication can always make a difference.

      1. So true. It’s infinitely rewarding to achieve what you sought out for knowing you did your best to get it.

      1. There’ll be always a next time so don’t worry. If you’re a bit concerned why your bet didn’t win, a new contest will be held soon.

  17. Congratulations on your S-U-C-C-E-S-S! There’s sure to be more where that came from.

  18. It is spirit, drive and dedication like yours that we tenderfoots would like to have in the long run.

  19. There is obviously some type of cheating going on in the vote system. If donny was promoted by John Chow, his own network, and superstar Corbin Bleu he obviously got more votes than that. Something seems fishy……..

  20. Does the 2010 ASW contest winner get a retroactive pass to the 2011 Epic Playboy party because the thought of attending it gives him goosebumps? πŸ˜›

  21. Hi, I am really happy I’ve found this information. Nowadays bloggers publish just about gossip and internet stuff and this is actually irritating. A good site with exciting content, that’s what I need. Thanks for making this website, and I will be visiting again.

  22. The core of your writing whilst appearing agreeable initially, did not really settle very well with me after some time. Someplace within the sentences you actually managed to make me a believer unfortunately only for a while. I nevertheless have a problem with your jumps in assumptions and one would do nicely to fill in those gaps. If you actually can accomplish that, I will surely be amazed.
