Many people credit me as the first make money online blogger. There were lots of IM before me but for whatever reason I seem to get a lot of credit. Whatever…. Either way the most common question I get is if you had to start over tomorrow what would you do. Well I can tell you how I got here and I notice its becoming a trend with others:
- You fell into your niche after trying and failing and one day started raking in the cash. (for me it was ringtones)
- You notice all these “Gurus” online talking about how to make money online but they seem out of date.
- You start your own blog under a anonymous name and start to call out these gurus. You call the products they sell scams and what not. (I used to be hard on guys like Joel Comm and he rest of the ebook authors).
- You start to write guides on what is working for you and start to get a following. (see my guides on ppc from years ago that are now completely out of date).
- You come out of your shell and start speaking at conferences. (for me this was about 4 years ago.)
- Your original niche where you made all your money starts to die off so you start to leverage your blog following into building a REAL product. (We built a company called auctionads which was a pretty big success. We also started the elite retreat conference which is doing pretty good. Now we have shoemoney tools and lots of other things in the works).
- You start to write your own ebooks and guides (which I used to make fun of people for doing).
- You are now a guru and people attack you and call you a scam without knowing you at all. They also attack your audience saying anyone who listens to you is *sheep*
- You talk about how your blog was never supposed to be your thing and it all just kind of happened because you like what you do
So why do such a high rate of people fail??
Well a lot of people try this and fizzle out because they never had the first component. They have no real experience and just talk in theories.
Also sometimes people are to scared to come out in the open and want to stay anonymous. Usually these people are full of shit and scared to come out of the closet. OOO but they will claim they “dont want the fame” – right that’s why you have a blog trying to tell the world how smart you are.
Most people dont have what it takes to launch their own product and eventually fizzle out.
Out of those who do launch their own product many don’t want to put in the work to make it through the dip.
OR those who do launch their on product crash and burn and cant take the heat of failure.
So what do you think?

That is it exactly. I feel the same way and actually started my blog to journal my “experiments”. Some worked, others did not, but I certainly don’t claim to be any guru.
Just trying to grasp the marketing concept before I release the next big thing 🙂
You’re cool. Been reading you for a month or so now and I enjoy your posts. Keep it up!
How to become a successful make money online blogger: don’t.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say 99.9% of all make money online bloggers have never actually made money online. They’re not fooling anyone either, all they do it spam affiliate products and push ads on their own site.
lolzzzzz…….is its fact?
Good post, is there a back story to this?
Dave
yes what he is saying is if you read the post and take his advice than you have the possibility to make money online
If you want to have a successful internet marking blog just google “escobarstatus” and follow his lead. He’s part of a web ring. Yep.
He was poor?
How do I get to his online investment knowledge warehouse store?
Funniest thing I have seen all week, thanks for posting that.
You just about covered it. I don’t agree with “stay anonymous†part though… I don’t think I ever seen somebody fail because of anonymity. It’s either product sucks, service sucks, you suck or any combination of three. Anonymity? Tend to disagree…
P.S. Shoemoney Tools don’t suck (well, maybe just a little… but getting a lot better..:)
I’d agree that most money bloggers don’t make much money online.
However, in the case of some (such as myself) it comes down to priorities and and having the patience to get past the DIP which probably occurs with blogging too. huh? I started reading that book based on your recommendation.
It’s a whole lot harder to stay motivation when you only have a few hundred readers as opposed to once you have a few thousand readers. Some days I’d like to be a “famous” blogger. Other days I don’t feel I even want to try. I never liked feeling like I was supposed to post on a daily schedule.
In my case I might take a second shot at it soon but if it doesn’t really work out it’s not a big deal to me.
Making money online is definitely more about making a great product and selling it than it is telling others how to make money online.
I’ve used my blog as a launching pad for getting out their and learning from others what they’re interested in and what their looking for that’s not offered.
Using my blog to build that community that I can get feedback from has given me some ideas that I’m slowly turning into money makers.
My newest plugin for instance. Also my secret project to revolutionize the way bloggers and affiliate marketers manage their business, is coming along and will be ready soon.
It is really so funny because I just read some popular blogger talking about you can’t make money online by blogging! But she was talking about doing “affiliate” so should be different from when you have your own products. I think, as Michael says, 99.9 % of people can’t make money just doing affiliate.
As for those, who don’t want to share and who “don’t look for fame”… What if you just don’t want other to go where you going. 🙂 Afterall, people reading your blog become your competitors. 🙂 Didn’t you make more money from nextpimp before you told the world how much you made? 😀
Work ethic! Plain and simple. People want the easy road to riches and just don’t put in the effort to get there. You need to be willing to bust your ass and learn many different skills to succeed in IM. I hate reading threads on forums saying “I’m only making 60 cents a day, wha wha wha”…These people have no clue about putting in the work to reap the rewards. Everyone wants something handed to them. Guess what…you don’t deserve the prize if you haven’t had to fight to get it.
ok i’ll be honest and anonymous here. Let’s ALL be honest.
1) Why do MMO bloggers try to enter the niche.. they are full of shit! Exactly what jeremy said, make something real and then talk…
2) any blogger trying to push their ad sales is probably a fool. Seriously… wtf is the ROI for the advertiser of a blog who has a 500k alexa? even though alexa is off…lets even say 200k? Thats right… there is NO ROI. It is a joke!
3) If you plan to follow any “make money online” blog…you have to be kidding yourself. There are like probably 5 mmo bloggers out there, if even that, that are actually doing it to help people. Otherwise why would they be blogging, when they can be making money? Seriously…don’t u think they have better stuff to do? Jeremy is an exception because people choose to follow the blog because they want to know about him…he even says…his blog is his personal blog…not some cash cow…
4) I would even go a step further and say anyone who is trying to “help people” and do just that, should be questioned why they have ads on their site? If you are in it for the good heartedness…why monetize that? Thats right…those noob MMO bloggers are trying to hit it large by fooling the masses.
5) am i discouraging anyone from following a new make money online with so and so blog? What do YOU think/
6) what do you think?????…..
Your right, there are only a few mmo bloggers that truely give sound advice. This blog is not one of them. Jeremy’s blog here is a more of news blog. I read this blog more for entertainment. A true mmo blogger shows you exactly what they are doing to mmo. Right out in front of your face. Who cares what the hell the blog looks like? Why would it matter if they’re using a blogger blog? If you think you need a pretty blog to mmo blogging, then you might be a…… sheep. All you need is traffic, and free traffic is better then paid. Social traffic is hit and miss but mostly miss depending on your niche. MMO bloggers chasing social traffic, epic fail. The only way to get consistent free traffic, you need SEO. Jeremy has long contended you don’t need SEO, but I think that by seeing some of his post lately, he’s changing his mind on that.
Good post about being a successful make money online blogger. I really enjoyed reading how to become a make money online blogger and appreciated some of your tips for becoming a make money online blogger. I don’t really think it sounds unnatural to say make money online blogger a couple times in a post right? I mean its pretty natural to say that you want to be a successful make money online blogger and once you do become a successful make money online blogger then it’s only natural to tell others how to become a make money online successful blogger right? All in all, excellent job on writing a make money online blogger post that is geared towards everyone wanting to be a make money online blogger and has the appropriate title tag of how to become a successful make money online blogger, a good title that includes successful make money online blogger, and lots of use throughout of the very natural sounding term make money online blogger 🙂
Just playing with you – good post and I just couldn’t resist. Ahh for the days when just keyword density alone would get you to rank for competitive KW phrases. 🙂
I really like these short and honest posts of yours. I can relate to your story on some aspects, except that I am only in the middle of your story so far 🙂
Making money online is not a quick rich scheme. Definitely you have to pour out hardwork and determination in order for it to work.
i think niche is the most important
theres a lot of truth to that
I’m just now starting a blog about my internet marketing experiences.
I’ve been a full-time online marketer for about 6-7 years now.
In short, I finally have something to say- most people don’t or they talk in theory.
I never understood why those who can’t make money online then think they can write a blog or book about what they failed at.
My first success was a complete accident! The site is still up and bringing in quite a few visitors (for its niche anyway). I think that experience and confidence are pretty much the two most important factors! You hit the nail on the head!
It is not bad starting as a Rookie and with a hard-head but as days roll, our blog should groom us to be a Guru.
The Key is we need to grow with the blog, if not, our blog stops where we deserve it to be.
[…] the original post:Â How To Become A Successful Make… Share and […]
I know it’s hard for some people to even conceive of a person wanting fortune but not fame, but it’s reality for plenty of people.
I personally know many people wealthier and more successful (by any reasonable metric) than anyone contributing to or frequenting this blog who are completely anonymous in terms of their public profile.
I mean, thinking about it? Why would anyone want to be recognized on the street, hassled wherever they go, have their families subjected to whatever random bullshit from whatever random retard.
I get that there are gregarious personality types for whom the sort of attention accompanying “fame” (even “Internet fame”) is a serious romance pants explosion, but dude, get a grip.
Your market is not you. Maybe you could take your own advice.
actually you totally made my point….
I know plenty of people making MUCH a ton of money who have zero interest in having a website.
It’s entirely possible to make crazy money from websites AND be completely anonymous.
Yes captain obvious it is.
However the topic of this post is how to become a successful online blogger…….
So you are telling me there are tons of guys out there who want to be a successful online blogger and get all the fame/credit but yet dont want the fame/credit.
You make no sense. Maybe you should read the post.
i think by choosing the right niche anyone can establish a decent income as long as their offering something of use and not something that isn’t.
It’s true that many bloggers don’t even make enough money to pay for their hosting but there are also many bloggers that are making good money.
When starting out, I found your blog and saw that huge adsense check.
Actually that what triggered me to make money from blogging.
I said to myself that if this FELLA can make a few hundred thousands dollar a month, why can’t I make a few dollars a MONTH ?
I don’t even know what adsense was at that time..LOL
Thank you Jeremy for inspiring me and yes you can make money blogging but it takes a lot of work….

Don’t forget about the most important rule:
“Never actually give away information about how to make money online on your make money online blog. Instead, sell products that purport to tell people how to make money online!”
I’m not a “real” money maker, that’s why I subscribe to Shoemoney. I’m really just starting out and still very much in the learning process. I’m still waiting on your book Shoe, so some of these other chumps would shut-up. But I have photoshopped a google check for my self for $102.47…. gives me something to shoot for. ô¿ô
When learning something new, most of us go through a 4-stage process. Think in terms of a baby who does not get around on its own, but then learns to crawl, eventually walks and finally knows how to run. If you see the big picture, then you are more likely to work through the rough spots.
Nice ideas. I am just getting started with my forum, an online forum for EBAY, PayPal, business and law advice.
http://www.modeeworld.com/forums
There is a lot great stuff on it, and I was debating whether to include adsense. For now I went ahead and did it.
I think your second last sentence sums it all.
Going through ‘The Dip’ is what most of us need to learn.
Thank you so much for this post!
I have recently started a blog myself. I did this because I noticed many people kept asking me questions and I’d give them answers or information based on what I have been exposed to. So I thought why not put them in writing. I believe this was similar to what you did with mobile wallpapers initially?
But I have to say something. There is nothing more frustrating than reading some blogs, knowing that that particular blogger is only saying things based on theory and you can tell… its complete drivel.
I think that people fail because they find a topic (ie making money online) that they believe is profitable and then go out and try to write about it. They are not passionate or well-informed about the topic so they fizzle out, like everything if there is no drive behind it.
I think with guys like you Shoemoney, you have been there and done that so coming up with new ideas, topics and motivation is much easier as its based on what you know and what you have experienced. This is compared to those who fail as they only write about what they think they should be writing about.
That’s why I enjoy this blog. This is real.
Keep up the great work.
Will
Much like anything else I guess if you want to be world class you have to invest a lot of time and effort and be prepared to risk failure. then you can make world class money.
World class is definitely still a work in progress for me.
You have mentioned the flaws now please tell us the strength as well so that new bie can follow those steps and can make money.
make a service people want to use.
the end.
This is Very well said Post Shoe. In order to become a Successful money blogger one needs to SET goals and work on them very professionally. If one can keep planning and could not implement that’s of no use.
These days every tom dick & harry wants to start blogging without knowing facts of Blogging & niche selection.
Many people have many saying about how to become Successful money Blogger & according me one needs to put atleast 6 to 10 months of Hard work and dedication to become Successful.

[…] How To Become A Successful Make Money Online Blogger […]
Yes, I agree, bloggers should not become anonymous. It’s not just just for avoiding fame, but it’s for building a reliable name and good reputation.
Still, we all want the Internet to be censorship free, and we all agree the fewer rules the better, but if folks are slandered by anonymous bloggers; is that really fair? Is that what we aspire to? Is this all the better we can do with the greatest communication device ever created for humankind? I think not and let me explain why this issue is so problematic.
I think that’s a good outline of how success happens. I agree too that most people out there – LOVE reading about HOW to do it… and very few people are putting it into action. They want to read more, read more, get some training… they start out very slow – a personal blog. They try a little bit… or they read some more about how to be successful.
The sick truth is that very few have what it takes. Not because they can’t learn it and do it. But, because they can’t “DO” it… I probably know 16 people that have good ideas for things and they’re not going forward with them. They can’t “do”.
If I can accomplish one thing when trying to help people do something online – it’s helping them DO something online.
The rest comes… do, do, do do, do, do, do, do and something you’re doing will start to work. You’ll learn something. You’ll take that and DO something else. Keep doing and something will work. Only when you stop doing is it impossible.
I’ve had many online businesses over the years. Maybe 15% worked to any degree. 5% worked well. The couple things that made up the 5% were quite amazing for me – and yet, nothing humongous. I’ve been doing this for 11 years and not hit “The big one”. New online entrepreneurs want the big one within the first 6 months… year.
Think longer term – something WILL work – it’s gotta!
@Ganesh, I too agree with his words. 🙂
Great post as always. I agree most bloggers don’t make money with their blogs, but I believe it’s because they do not put enough into it
You dont need to be a guru, just need to be real with your readers, if you can make money online. Show it. Check my post out. I just started my blog and i am getting 8+ dollars from 27 clicks anint much when i just started with less then 10 posts. Prove it in any way possible, at the same time show them what you really talking about.

I recently started a blog on this niche. You are true, i always find bloggers blogging with fake images of their earnings and with old methods and most links are found refferal links. Surfers are getting intelligent now. Got some new ideas
I think that you’re spot on about these anonymous people. I think that people respect you when you’re transparent online. People can really read that kind of thing alot better than they used to be able to.
BTW
How long do you think it will take until you’re number one on google for “make money online”. Clever Jeremy…..Very Clever 🙂
Let me know when you hit the first page (@marketophile). I would be interested to see the timing.
Once Again…..Great Post!
Well done in fact this guy is for real, but one tip that I can give to everyone is that the method to succes on live, with blogs, with marketing, with your own live and every single detail of it is that you need to stay focus, mark your goals and put a lot of effort, heart and knowlegde and you will see that money and opportunities to grow up will be at the cornner.
I think you’ve put me over the edge. I’m starting my own blog now.
you shouldn’t only blog for the money but for the fun of it as well because when you blog you have others online reading what you have written which shows your fans or readers enjoy what you have to say
No, i would explain it in this way.Not only can blogging be a fun way to keep in touch with friends, it’s a great way to make extra money for the stuff you need. Millions of teens already have a blog. Not only that, but blogging offers a great way to express your opinions on a number of issues. And when you consider that some of the biggest bloggers make over a thousand dollars a week – starting a blog of your own is an excellent way to fill your pocket with the money you need.
Good article, Jeremy.
I don’t know that you ever gave me THAT hard a time, but I’m pretty happy that the thread you started at DP has endured the test of time.

What’s really funny is I just stumbled across more photos I took of me opening the UPS envelope with the Google check inside.
Anyhow, you have hit on some pretty important points.
True MMO success stories don’t just enter the MMO marketplace. You have to actually have a success story before you can tell others how you did it. I was making money on the web in 1995 and had done my first million-dollar deal by 1998. The whole AdSense thing didn’t start until 2004 for me, but it was still early enough to beat the masses to the curve and come out with my first ebook. The rest is history.
It is amazing how easily people judge you when you are a public figure. I’ve met so many people in conferences that have told me they thought one thing about me, and that when they met me, felt bad for saying negative stuff. I guess its just the way it is, huh?
To be a success, you have to be willing to take risks. I take MASSIVE risks with my business every day. Granted, they are calculate risks, but they are risks just the same. And if something unexpected happened, I may have to start all over again.
And I would. I’ve got plenty more ideas, and its not about the money anyhow. It’s about the good that you do, the relationships you forge along the way and the reputation that you leave behind.
People need to stop focusing on trying to duplicate exactly what others are doing and figure out what THEIR thing is. Everyone has gifts, talents, knowledge, abilities, personality, etc, that makes them unique. You’ve got to tap into your own passion and make sure that what you do comes from that, and you’ll have a much better chance at producing a valuable product or service that people will pay for.
Anyhow, random thoughts on a day that I am still recovering from a nasty cold. Thought I’d chime in.
Stay cool, bubba…
Joel
very very few people live totally on blogs…a survey says
[…] blogger. There were lots of IM before me but for whatever reason I seem to get a lot of credit. […]Getting an education – and big money Enough money that if Tyler can't hack the NBA, he can send […]
People need to know that they can’t just start a blog today and start making money the next day. How long did it take you 2-3 years? They need to realize that you will more than likely loose money for a while until you really get going and people find you and if they like you then that is when you may be able to start making money.
certainly want everyone successful, famous and get money from online business, I am sure your tips are very helpful
I agree with michael…if you’re not Brinn or Page, probably you’ve never earned one single penny from the Internet…

i agree with you 100 percent as you summed it up very easily and brief as well
One of the important ones on your list is definitely the people who want to do this all in the background.
There is no such thing as selling from the closet. And it is all about selling after all.
Good point also that the landscape is changing. As it always does.
I’ved Crash and Burned with my first product. I got a total of 4 sales… And i put $1000’s into to.. It was a really dishearting.
Everyone has… no one has been successful at everything. I spent 2yrs working on a product and spent close to 50k on it.. and have so far made $147 from it. However I spent $75 on another project which now nets me a lifestyle.
So don’t give up because you never know what the world holds for you and it usually comes when you least expect it.
It would be very difficult to imagine one, and even if you did, there’s no guarantee that its mere originality will make it appealing to an audience.
Excellent post Jeremy, I do agree with the things you’ve mentioned, however I believe that some people just give up too fast, they don’t see any money coming their way and they just drop it as a whole, I have the perfect quote for that “try and fail … but never fail to try”
There are way too many make money online blogs, it is so cluttered that I automatically skip them when I come across them.
you do have a point and you are right 100 percent yes there are way to many but only some truly know how
[…] blogger. There were lots of IM before me but for whatever reason I seem to get a lot of credit. […]Getting an education – and big money Enough money that if Tyler can't hack the NBA, he can send […]
I’ve been at this for a year now and I’m still in the stage BEFORE the first stage. I haven’t made that ton of cash yet just a couple of hundred dollars! I haven’t invested alot of cash but I have invested a ton of time. I’m looking forward to the beginning of my success.
Internet marketing, making money blogging and earning a fortune from affiliate marketing etc. etc. is all just a dream without some real hard work put into it. A newbie in this highly competitive internet market full of self-proclaimed gurus will find it hard to survive. No matter what he does he would not have the resources and money to compete with the already successful internet marketer. Add to it the fact that there are thousands of gurus around professing thousand things, he is so much confused that he keeps accepting all advice coming his way and buying all the tools and ebooks available only to find that he is broke. Ultimately he dies an unsuccessful entrepreneur.
Blame it on the competition or, the unethical practises, but in such a scenario any beginner would want to remain anonymous till he is actually successful and decides to show that he is successful even when he is not. I had seen quite a few people succeed this way, when I was struggling.
Whatever the way adopted, nobody questions once you are successful. Though I would never want to take the unethical path because I know how I was burnt and I would not want a newbie to go through such an experience.
wow dk that was a great response you did have a lot of interesting pointsand i agree with you on most of your points but not all people can make money online they just have to follow someone who knows how
I admit some people do find success at the expense of others, and never know repercussions of any kind. It’s unscrupulous, and lacks integrity, and I believe from most of these individuals self-guilt steals happiness over time. Those who get away with dishonest activity may live in luxury, but do they truly enjoy their lives?
I totally agree with DK as the competition is ever growing on internet as far as Blogging industry is concerned. Every next guy coming to big blogs would like to become Shoe Money or John Chow ..lol
They need to understand one very important thing that for first 2 years Shoe did not even made single $ on his blog.
SEO, you are absolutely right. Dishonest and unethical activities can give you success in the short run but if your objective for success is with a view at the long run, then go ethical and go honest.
Even if you are not making money from your activities in the initial period and you know you are doing the right things, just hang in there and be persistent and consistent. The day it starts working for you, all the agony that you went through during that period will be rewarded multiple folds.
I can count on ShoeMoney to tell it like it is and not how people want to hear it. I think you have hit the nail on the head in this post more so then others.
It seems that most so called want to be gurus are just talking from what they think will work and not from what really works.
If these so called Guru’s really used the crap they teach they would find out it will not work and was out dated last year.
Thanks
Charles Kirkland
I don’t think I’d start a MMO blog nowadays.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s still possible and I am sure there are a few newbs out there that will have success.
IMO though there are just too many under-served niches online still to have to compete with big guys.

Thanks for a great reading

Yes you are right Jorge. Most of the time people, myself included, want things to be easy. But the truth of the matter is that everything cannot and should not be done with easy. We live in a world where no one wants to wait for anything, a true fast food society. It is my belief that true success requires effort and time.
very true jorge because only time will tell

thanks.

Good point Shoe. Most people forget that they cant be successful on their first outing. Once they fail, they give up and leave. But failure is the first step to success.
Interesting post. I did not think of the fact that many have to get to the point that they sell their own product. Do people only write ebooks about making money, or are there other successful niche ebooks out there?
realistic and great post… in my case i always fail w/ppc marketing… btw, i guess when bloggers start to become famous, they also start to become famous to haters… oh well
and speaking of flaming joel comm before, i actually have read a thread that you started in digital point asking whether comm is a scammer or not..
actually it seems a lot of aff.marketer (wickedfire) hates ebook dudes… wht do you think?
The scam has been going on for many years, well before the internet even existed. They used Direct Mail back then and larger lists.
Thank for sharing.I also have a blog, but I didn’t earn too much money from it
you are right..there are many scam out here today

I have a legit experience in a field, and also well rounded with ebusiness/SEO/tech in general. I also know that if I blog for money, I will do it very well. The problem is I cannot come out in the open with my actual identity. And I completely agree with you about the downside of staying anonymous. Do you think an alias/peudonym/pen-name is a good solution?

Blogging without a focus will not make money. Structure your posts into a series, culminating into a purpose, promotion, event or special deal. Get your readers to do something in return for all this wonderful information you’ve given them!
I’ve always disliked the term ‘guru’. I’m not a guru, I merely pass on stuff that I have tried that has worked for me.
if your not a guru than why are you saying it
Your comment makes no sense whatsoever, almir.
Anyway, I see your point Dean. I think it’s funny when some people call themselves gurus when they’re just doing the same thing as you are.
Great post. This is the reason why I check Shoemoney.com on the regular.
thank you has to share the information useful, I hope you blog more popular
I think there’s very few e-books that put my trust in. Many of them I don’t really think I need as much, but it doesn’t hurt to take a look in them if you have the change to spare. What I have learned though If I am going to create a E – Book to make the content inside unique and quality wise. God knows this would be a huge step in the market for ebook creators for whatever they are selling to be “REAL”.
you do make some decent points. But when I think of an e-book I think of information that can be found on the internet for free without all of the paraphrasing and extra fluff that people put into it
Indeed there are very few ebooks that you can put your trust into. I am terrified with the term “e-book” itself because I lost quiet a bit of money on crappy ebooks when I started my internet marketing business. If you have some extra money then you can always buy any crap that you want but it is not worthy of it and if you are serious about the ROI, you will never want to do it.
I too am following a dream of mine – a dream to write some quality ebook like that of the “blog profits blueprint” by Yaro.
Making money with Adsense it’s becoming harder and harder. Couple of years ago, Adsense program was really hot
Nowdays, affiliate earnings are much more rewarding. More and more publishers go into CPA networks everyday. Adsense is paying penny per clicks .. Too bad .. I actually enjoyed it while it lasted.
We started this business over 10 years ago and it is always the same story. From rags to riches. We won’t say we are rich, but we are not in rags either. Work is work. If you don’t do it smart, its just that.

Yeah, I think so.

That’s my goal and challenge. Thanks for the great advice Jeremy.
It is true that you have to be motivated if you are to succeed in anything. But what is more important is that you do not fear failure. Failure is bound to happen in order for you to succeed. The sad part is that most of the people starting an internet marketing business just quit at the first point of failure.
a very interessting and helpful topic ,thank you so much for posting it, i’m a new blogger too and i’ve found all the answers i was looking for in your advices
This is very true. It is like from history when the Gold Rush was on. Only those in the know early make it, As Richard Branson said, you must make a highly unique and high valued product that is in demand. The unfortunate part is most people clone stuff online really fast. The internet breaks down ALL barriers of entry since anyone and their dog can put together a website really fast.
Sorry for the second comment, I forgot to click on this Facebook thing.

i start blogging with many theories and it sometimes make my head got a headache. it is too many theories which sometimes make me confuse. So now i just try to follow as you said, always trying and dare to learn in many ways as long as it still goes smooth
What many MMOs forget to mention is that the click through rate on adsense is on average about 1%, so you will never make money without a very healthy traffic flow. My blog is getting about 3000 hits a month and I’m lucky if I make $1 a day from adsense, nothing at all from affiliates so far. However, I’m here for the long haul, and as I learn more I’ll try new methods of generating traffic and income..
Scams are everywhere so be careful with your actions. Btw, nice post. Makes me think I should try my luck on this. Thanks .Keep it up. I’ll be looking forward to your other posts. Thanks!

Haha, Great! Especially people you don’t know saying you a liar and tell you that it’s not possible to make money online with affiliate marketing. Such to poeple want to hear it so I give them they answer they want “your right everyone is lying.” 😉
im making a blog about my internet experiences.
I’ve been a full-time online marketer for about 5-8 years now.
There are those that cant make money online then think they can write a blog or book about what they actually didnt succeed at. hows that ;o
Perika, you seem to have a good idea. This comment of yours has given me a new business idea that I think I will start to develop and launch in the next one month.
Aww. Thanks for those (:
still a newbie and learning to know more,
anyways, thanks a bunch.
I am living proof of this post. Tried to run a blog on how to make money online, even though I was NOT making money online!
Switched to something else which I WAS doing (Fitness) and actually started making money. Now I don’t care about telling people I am making money.
People can read through the B.S. Be yourself. It will work.
People really need to quit trying to make money in the make money online niche. There are already people established and if you haven’t made money online, you really look like an idiot trying to talk about it. Come up with your own idea for a website or if you’re going to blog you need to write about what you’re knowledgeable about…quit trying to copy everyone else
I have a different opinion that yours. There is no market that does not have a niche in it. If your are ready to spend some time researching, you will find unexplored areas in every niche. Hence Make money online can still be lucrative but the need is to research.
Jeremy,
I see many webmasters who had lots of excitement whenever they started blogging BUT sometime, they suddenly stopped after 10-20 post because they feel that they could not earn through blogging..This is the main scenario to fail in blogging money making tactics.
I am also new blogger. I always read your blog once in a day and encourage myself…and keep blogging on my blogs without getting any single bucks.
Thanks buddy
Thanks. Really great article you have here (:
keep posting 😀
I’m still trying to pay the bills by blogging
Thanks for sharing 🙂 Very helpful info you have here. Cheers!
Been reading your posts. Those are really great. Cheers for posting! 🙂
GREAT !~
Well put!
Success isn’t about being #1 in the first place. The point is to getting over failure all the time.
Over the years online and even more offline I figured out that it takes real guts to stick to your guns when the tide is high. Smiling when you are winning is definitely not a wrong thing to do but keeping your smile when the going gets tough and even rougher makes you a success. Getting over a huge blow by a community, critics, even being broke and fixing your real-life problems makes you rich. Practicing successful principles and not following hypes results in success.
I discovered that you cannot lose if you decide to do so. Winners never quit and quitters never win. Perseverance and acting bold and confident when under siege makes you a winner all the time. Likes attract likes and that’s why I am picky and careful about my peers.
Confidence is what matters and the will to learn and grow. Backed up with experience, this leads to great adventures like here on Shoemoney and for example John Chow. I laughed heartily and totally understood while watching John’s video of a dotcom mogul. “Money is a by-product” – and he is so right.
Talking about winning is for losers. Talking about getting over failure all the time is why I consider Shoemoney a must-read for everyone. For me your blog is inspiration and encouragement because of the gentle “been there done that†tone it provides.
It takes one to know one and there is still so much to learn and fail to win – online and offline. 🙂
My advice would be don’t reinvent the wheel. If it still works then continue doing it. Marketers know this that’s why they keep the methods close, and still use them. Overtime things will change, but the methods will stay the same. Great post Shoe!
Good post! Thanks for sharing tho 🙂
Cant believe you cannot even outrank two Blogger Blogs at MMO in Google.
You seem like a pretender and if you were the so called Guru you purport you are you would make the keyphrase more impressively near the top of the page.
yo lemme know when you want to compare revenue
you can have your rankings…. I am not a SEO and never claimed to be.
Gimme the got cheese award.
Thems fighting words.
I’m thinking I’d rather have great revenue than have good SEO. Uno my personal opinion.
Revenue says: “I drive a Lambo”…
SEO says: “Oh yeh, well where are you ranked in Google”
Revenue says: “who gives a… “
This is great. Keep it up!
Making money with Adsense it’s becoming harder and harder. Couple of years ago, Adsense program was really hot. like DoubleClick nowadays. But..
Affiliate earnings are much more rewarding. More and more publishers go into CPA networks everyday. Adsense is paying pennies per clicks .. Too bad .. I actually enjoyed it while it lasted.
Thanks a lot for the tips !
My ideal blogger now is Grizz, because he able to manage a crap blog from blogspot and make a big amount of money as well.
He is a true guru for me!
Creating a successful site is quite difficult and keeping it ranked well for a long period of time proves harder than many might think.
99.9% of bloggers havent made money online? I dont agree with that. please go do some research
Not what I expected, but I felt I had to let you know I liked it. Thank you.
Many many thanks for share.I am new to learn about make money online.Hope to make me better
Thanks for blogging about internet marketing strategies. I may incorporate this into my next project. Thanks once again!
Great post,I always dreamed that my blog could be like shoe. Hard work, is one of the most basic things in making money, either offline or online. 😀
