I know I just talked about it the other day about how much work I put into the November Newsletter (goes out tomorrow) but you will not want to miss this one! We do a lot of it with Facebook and when I sent a preview to some of the brass at Facebook they offered to give a free $50.00 code for new users to the Facebook advertising platform to get started.

    1. That sounds like a great idea.. But what’s the catch – do you have to buy something for $100 in order to get the $50 coupon or do you only have to provide a credit card in order to be eligible for the coupon?

        1. yup, I also have a problem with online transactions that only happen with a credit card. If you don’t have one, then you’re can’t have it.

    1. Heck yeah…sounds good. I have been wanting to test out them and SU advertising. Shoes got some pull… Go Shoe Go

    1. I used Facebook for advertising my blog. In a 2 week period I ended up getting approximately 20 click-throughs.

I’ve been thinking about trying it again.

      1. Steven,

That sounds pretty low. I read somewhere that facebook ads are not as good at generating a lot of leads for advertisers but that might have been wrong..

        1. Yup, starngely enough, ads on facebook are not that effective. Maybe it’s because people are mostly involved in their chats and facebook applications to give any attantion to adds. Plus those ads open in the same window which makes them even more irritating because they get you out of your current page and have to click on back to find your way back where you left off. So no wonder they don’t get clicked that much. 😉

  1. Oh thats a great idea. I cant wait to get your November newsletter to see how i can get the code for facebook ads.

      1. completed the form long back. Got the newsletter today, but has nothing to offer. Anyone here, can please elaborate..

  2. Great Jeremy, thanks. I’d be interested to hear how the facebook advertising works for you and others.

  3. I did some Facebook advertising a while ago for a relationship site and got a CTR of .13%. It didn’t generate a heck of a lot of traffic, and nothing converted into signups or sales for me…

Is this promo just for new advertisers or can it be applied to an existing advertising account?

  4. Thats awesome I am awaiting the newsletter..wonder how paid ads on facebook perform ??

  5. Woooow. I really like your new website template…talk about getting into the spirit of halloween 🙂

    1. So does Shoe have the Halloween on a “split” kinda thing…. I saw the halloween thing and then it was gone the next time I logged in…. intrigued fo sho…..

  6. Anxious to try Facebook, $50 bucks extra will seal that deal. I am sure there will be ad tips in the newsletter too?

Lesson there about working with vendors and sponsors, Facebook is no small catch to get some assistance from.

    1. Seriously…. I’ve been waiting for a good reason to get going with the facebook ad system as well….and the $50 free smackers will be pushing me over the edge….

  7. Nice one Shoe!! I’ve been really looking forward to this newsletter ever since you mentioned it.

The money part is nice but I’m sure that you are going to give some great advice/tips inside this newsletter and I can’t wait to try them out and make some money!

  8. […] subject of newsletters another couple that are well worth reading are those from Patrict Altoft and Shoemoney’s, they both feature useful content that is not available on the respective […]

  9. Wow, that’s a really great deal! Now no one has a reason not to subscribe to your newsletter. Great job Jeremy. I hope to read your newsletter very soon. 🙂

  10. I get this message when I sign up for the newsletter:

“Thank you for signing up to the ShoeMoney Newsletter! You will not be disappointing!”

Either your copywriter needs help, or you have a funny sense of humor.

  11. That’s what will happen when FaceBook sees MySpace Ads all over your blog. Good stuff!

  12. Awesome, I’ve already been advertising on facebook since it launched every day but hey another coupon can’t hurt.

  13. “free $50.00 code for new users to the Facebook advertising platform to get started.”

That sounds alot like The Adwords Business Plan…
im still waiting for a myspace advertising voucher =]

  14. Hi Jeremy,

Just got the newsletter thanks! I just created my first FaceBook ad and tried to use your coupon code ‘shoemoneynl’ and it doesn’t work. It says it’s expired or already used. Just thought I’d let you know. Hopefully we can get this fixed, I’d love to take advantage of the $50 bucks!

  15. i’ve been hearing your name ever since i started with this god forsaken business and this is the first time i accidentally landed on your site. this shit is ghetto. people are saying the coupon code doesn’t even work. lol.

  16. So, to summarize, this either was a SCAM (never had a valid code, just wanted to promote newsletter), or a mistake that Shoe will not comment on.

  17. Heck – its December but I still subscribed – don´t imagine I´ll get the coupon though, ho hum!

  18. did anyone get this because I looked in my email searched it nothing at all however i do get all of shoemoneys newsletters
