I just finalized the details to be one of the three gurus on Top Affiliate Challenge, the web’s first real-time reality show for internet marketers.

Each team on TAC is going to sell real products from real affiliate networks to real customers for real commissions. 12 contestants will make it on the show, and I will be personally coaching 4 of them.

Thor Schrock was at Affiliate Summit West in Las Vegas yesterday courting John Chow as one of the other gurus. Rumor has it that he is on board, but I haven’t heard anything official yet.

This show’s episodes should offer a lot more than Next Internet Millionaire did. Each episode will be about 30 minutes long and will mostly consist of gurus and contestants explaining what they are doing and executing their strategies. The teams will compete for earnings, but the contestants will also be competing for safety from elimination and some pretty cool prizes too.

It’s going to borrow a lot of elements from existing successful reality formats and put it together for the web.

Auditions for the show open up on March 1st at the Top Affiliate Challenge website. To audition, you have to submit a video to the site saying why you want to be on the show.

The show will air 14 episodes in July with a 24-hour tape delay.

I’m pretty pumped to be a part of this because its a huge branding opportunity for us and I hear their might be a couple $10,000 championship rings up for grabs too.

So do you think you are going to try out?

  1. Im definitly going to be watching, just wondering though are you guys going to be talking about landing pages, keywords, and all that. Or just give general tips? If you start talking about keywords and landing pages I am IN!

But what about John, he doesnt seem to have much experience in PPC affiliate marketing? I think Zac would have been a better choice.

  2. Oh ! that sound cool ^^ !
I wanna try out but i think i can’t get in, cauz im new to internet marketing and i don’t have much experience as you. Any way i’ll give it a try, the most important is participation $$

  3. Each episode will be about 30 minutes long and will mostly consist of gurus and contestants explaining what they are doing and executing their strategies.

This is exactly what I wanna see. I look forward to learn from these episodes. Good luck with this, Jeremy!

  4. I agree. Not only will it be another amusing reality show (with familiar faces, most likely), but we’ll be able to learn a lot too! Can’t wait.

  5. I think the concept is cool and i think the show will be good…. to me John chow falls more into the blogosphere than an affiliate marketer… but I am sure by using him and yourself will help the show gain more traction…

  6. Jeremy,

At the end of each show, are you going to show the stats for the offers that each contestants is going to promote?

    Jonathan

  7. Thanks for the post, Shoe. Just so everything is clear, his is a world-wide competition. We will fly you in from anywhere in the world and pay your room and board while you are on the show. We still have one guru position open. we are open to your suggestions!

  8. LOl Shoe I laughed when you said “I’m pretty pumped”,must be all those UFC thingies your involed with rubbing off :)….All ican say is “go you good thing” we will be rootin for ya,Shoes our man Yeaaahhh

  9. This is going to be cool. Can’t wait to watch and learn as the contestants go at it.

  10. Another great idea coming to fruition. I’m going to be looking forward to seeing this and how it all comes together. So is this going to be a John Chow’s guys vs ShoeMoney’s guys type show? That will be an interesting match up to see how it turns out.

“Super Bowl” type rings too? You’re going all out for this aren’t you? I can picture the ShoeMoney logo on a ring surrounded by diamonds.

  11. I’m really glad you brought my attention to this. I know I’m not ready this year but I have a whole year to ‘train’ so watch out affiliates you’ll hear from me next year.
    Thanks Shoe.

  12. How i wish that will be visible to Cable television here in Philippines… where can i check the updates?

  13. I’m defo going to submit a video – I have an interesting story that may appeal to the masses (well, you don’t know until you try hey?!)

  14. Great post, Although some people claim your not a super affiliate i think the CJ screen shot proved that you are.

  15. I always knew flycell was up to something, one day you would make xx amount of leads the next you can’t even reach 50% of yesterdays.

  16. yeah but i am watching it more for entertainment .. nothing better than seeing these guys going at each other

  17. Awesome, not only a great opportunity for you but for the contestants too. Can’t wait for it to start.

  18. I could definately use some schooling in PPC. I’ve never been that successful at it.

  19. Here’s hoping we get to see actual keywords and detailed strategies instead of just you guys talking about general tips and advice that can be found on any blog/forum.

Its counterproductive for affiliates to give away their secrets but I personally would only be interested in watching this if that occurred so I could learn and replicate some of their successful efforts (as i’m sure thousands others will be). Otherwise, whats the point in watching?

  20. Why would you get John Chow if it is an affiliate challenge? He is a blogger, and most of his income is from his blog, and his ttz media. Not sure how he would help potential affiliate marketers improve their skills. I saw him at the panel of affiliate marketers at asw08, and gotta tell you, he probably realized he did not belong there.

  21. Clash of theTitans!
Should be great learning experience for all of us. Wish the best for all. Wish I had the traffic to compete…One day!

  22. Part of it is name vs name. It rasises the interest level…I’d watch. John is pretty crafty when his mind is put to it!

  23. It sounds like they are going to have a Donald Trump Apprentice type competition affiliate style. They will sell real products from affiliate networks and like in the Apprentice, whoever sells the most is the winner.

I’m sure the different routes they take to sell the products will be revealed as part of the show. It should be a very, very interesting project.

Donald Trump has his “YOU’RE FIRED” line…what catchy phrase or line are you going to use?

  24. @ Paul

If your T-shirt is completely original and unique I think Shoemoney wil choose it. At least I would, because I like orginality and unique items.

  25. I think its a GREAT learning experience, you could teach yourself allot and learn from others as well.
I would love to just sit and watch a couple of episode’s should be interesting.

  26. Seems like this might be cool for folks new to the online business world. Most of us making money are too busy making money to audition.

    Good luck with the show.

  27. Congratulations on all your successes. You are a true inspiration to all of us in the internet business. Maybe you could critic my business probono 🙂 Can you also let me know how to push my shirt to the front of the long line? Maybe I will write an article try to convince you. Would that work?

  28. Yeah, it’ll be a good opportunity for all involved. If it can generate enough interest, it’ll spread by word of mouth. It has to be entertaining as well as informative to be successful. We’ll see how it goes. The ShoeMoney brand is slowly picking up more and more steam.

  29. Pretty cool. But only 30 minute long episodes? That’s a lot to cram in. I enjoyed watching TNIM and I hope this one will turn out good too.

  30. I hope this is going to be free to view, don’t think that was mentioned specifically.

Looking forward to seeing this, you can read so much on the interweb, but coaching is different.

  31. The site looks great and the first audition I watched was pretty good. I’ll have to watch a bunch more obviously before I can start voting on any. I’m sure there may be some that try to game it and you have set up something to combat that. Either way it’ll interesting to see how it all plays out. Good Luck to all!
    ~Terry

  32. Yes, the show will be free to view. You can help keep it that way by visiting the website and voting on the auditions.

  33. […] have two of our three gurus locked in.  Jeremy “Shoemoney” Schoemaker and John  Chow have both committed to the show.  We have some pretty interesting recommendations […]

  34. Very much looking forward to this. It’s an education as much as it is entertainment.

  35. […] it would be an experience you’d never forget, two of the experts have already been announced, Jeremy “Shoemoney” Schoemaker and John Chow.  I’d love to apply myself, just don’t know if I’d want […]

  36. […] You may remember Thor Schrock as the backstabbing bastard from the Next Internet Millionaire reality show. It would feel good slapping him upside the head, but the big prize for getting on this internet affiliate marketing reality show is jedi affiliate coach, shoemoney. […]

  37. Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is important and everything. Nevertheless think of if you added some great photos or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and videos, this site could undeniably be one of the best in its niche. Wonderful blog!
