And
SEO
Jeremy “Shoe Money” Schoemaker
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the practice of optimizing your web site to gain maximum visibility from internet search engines. Given the importance of search engine traffic for all web businesses, it makes sense to invest in SEO to ensure that potential visitors or customers can find your site. Jeremy “Shoemoney” Schoemaker is a leading expert in search engine marketing, and in this talk he leads you though what SEO is, and gives you practical advice on how to better market your business through search engines.
Ya thats right! The guy who is too black for whitehats and to white for blackhats is giving a presentation on SEO!. I am as surprised as you ;). I guarantee it will be different then any SEO presentation you have ever seen.
Keep your eyes peeled for a press release from eBay which involves AuctionAds this week. We can’t say anything more about that until eBay makes its announcement.
Looking forward to your SEO presentation. I’ll be there
I hope your speeches will be recorded or video taped?
I do not know to be honest. Presenting at eBay is like a whole different ballgame then SES or other conferences I have spoken at. If the are I will be sure to post the links but also if they are I need to hold back a bit 😉
If you can smuggle in a poor college student, let me know.
🙂
Hmm for the longest time i wanted to go to the dev conference!
Have fun shoe!
Anyone else getting served default ads with auctionads tonight around 6pm Central – Sunday night?
Hey Shoe – you need to a forum for auctionads for tech support and general discussion.
I wonder what the announcement will be? ebay buys auctionads???
Shoe, it’s about time you admitted you know quite a bit about SEO. I’d love to hear or read what you’ve got to say. I’m willing to bet you take a very practical, bottom line approach to it and I think that would be a unique angle to hear.
Actually I might know a thing or 2 but its just from my experiences. I have never sold seo or services and do not agree with what most “professional” seos say
You’re in my backyard. I’ll see if I can “squeeze” in to see what’s going on.
Perhaps someone will blog cover this presentation like the elite retreat?
Yep, same thing here, empty ads or default ads. I contacted AA, so I guess they are working on it.
I’m telling you I wrote my EBay – AuctionAds theory yesterday and timestamped it to post today!
Wow, I wish I could be there. I’m sure that the affiliate discussion will include some references to all the feeds that developers can use (as affiliates)?
I’m sort of surprised, too, that you’re talking about SEO.
I think that’s what would make it so interesting. While I’m sure there are some things I wouldn’t agree with you on, as you said, you’re basing it on your experiences which is something many SEOs don’t do. There’s so much recycled crap out there that gets passed around but rarely tested. Anyway, as others have said, I hope it’s recorded or blogged or something.
thats cool man. have fun! dishing out your SEO smack down!
One key difference I’ve noticed, is that most SEOs, that sell services, focus primarily on lots of traffic and high rankings (they look impressive on reports). Successful affiliates focus on high EPC traffic (rankings that bring money to the table).
I think a similarity though is that both are successfully because of lots of tests and measurements, and Jeremy certainly seems to do that.
“if they are I need to hold back a bit ;)”
Aw don’t say that. I think one of the reasons you are so popular is you aren’t afraid to reveal the goods.
I’ve always wondered how much you learn at these events, or if they are just for product promotion.
It would be great to see how the presentation goes.
Oh no Shoe – please don’t show those ebay sellers how to get more traffic – they already get too much.
wow shoe, I sent you an email. I will be at the MS Tech Tour 07′ so hit me up!!!
I was just getting “page not found” in my skyscraper div
Hopefully one of the shoeheads in the crowd read this string and see it as a good opportunity to get some traffic to their site… Hint Hint…
I’ve wondered the same. I suppose there’s only one way to find out :). If any conferences happen near the Minneapolis area I’m game.
Shame Ill be missing this….
Not likely to happen up here, but there’s always the bar.
I won’t be at DevCon, but am going to Affiliate Summit.
Will you be videoing your presentations to put online?
If you do, try out Viddler.com you can put any length in full quality!
Same, wish I could make it.
If anyone find summary, coverage or anything definitely post it here.
Ill be at AdTech in Chicago this summer – I hope you’ll be there Jeremy
Lol 🙂
Google was hear about a month ago for Adwords training, for what it’s worth.
Yes – and furthermore, it’s the results that count!
I’d sure like to see/hear your SEO presentation. Hope someone will be able to feed us some details of your presentation!
Don
As long as we get a good podcast out of this I guess it’s ok to leave us with guest writers for a week.
