My search engine marketing pick for 2006 is religion.

Everyone knows the Davinci Code is coming out but i have a good feeling this movie called “The Beast” is going to be a huge thing this year. Also being this year contains 6-6-06 is kind of odd as well… all equals a perfect storm of internet search marketing niche if you ask me.

The Beast (in movies 6-6-06) takes some hard swings specifically at the catholic church and disproves that Christ ever existed. The movie is of course fiction but a lot of the points it brings up to disprove Christs existence are based on fact.

I am defiantly going to target this market VERY hard this year and have already acquired some domains for it. I have also found huge terms in overture for religious phrases have been very easy to rank for. I am already seeing significant income from Christian Dating affiliates.

Mel Gibson’s The Passion got people talking about religion and now the public is ripe for a good ole religious debate of which of course they will be searching the internet looking for information 😉
here is the plot outline for The Beast:

When her father, a biblical scholar, mysteriously disappears, a Christian high-school student named Danielle investigates. She discovers that he had stumbled across a cover-up of Christianity’s best-kept secret: That Jesus Christ never existed. Now that she possesses proof of this dangerous fact, Danielle confronts two strong forces: A band of fundamentalist Christians who will stop at nothing to suppress the truth, and her own desire for Jesus Christ to be real. The Beast dives into factual territory well-explored by scholars but largely hidden from the view of the public.

  1. I run a large interfaith site – and though it gets good traffic, the payouts on AdSense are probably the lowest per click for any vertical I’m in.

Great idea, but possibly not the most profitable.

  2. I think brian turner has a point there.
Maybe you’ll get the traffic but I don’t think there are alot of high paying ads for religion

  3. This wouldnt be a suprise pick if it was already paying well though. As popularity increases hopefully bids will follow as interest in this niche increases.

Also as I state in the original post the affiliates are paying pretty well for me.

  4. yeah LMFAO, every year is a great year for religion making money and this years different? thanks for mentioning a bunch of racist hicks. lmfao.

  5. Hey Shoemoney, just curious what your religious background is (if you don’t mind sharing that is)

  6. I think your plan is a good one. Although it is pretty hard to determine the profit you will make accurately, you are right, after some of the anti-christian (catholic in particular) media that is expected this year, people will be looking for information just to talk about. Go for it!

  7. I think there is a great opportunity to get “haters” to your website. You know, people that dislike your topic and want to argue against it.

  8. I think alot of anti-Christs are missing the point of Christianity. even though your idea is a good idea but maybe you should research more and actually understand what Christianity is all about. Christianity promotes love and Anti-Christ promotes hatred. its a big difference. this world is already messed up, its up to you to make the difference in this world for yourself, your kids and your country.

  9. we don’t need religion to promote love. we can do that ourselves. and anti-christ doesn’t breed hatred, it breeds whatever it breeds, of which I’m certain is a variety. Christianity breeds hatred too: hatred for competing religions.

the world is only as messed up as your believe it is.

  10. Ha, reading these comments just proves your onto a hot topic ShoeMoney. I registered thedavincicodex.com a while ago and need to get off my duff and get the site done.

  11. keep in mind that this will not be the first time that a date will contain 06-06-06 since christ was born. Nothing phenominal has been attributed to this cooinciding of numbers in the past. I think too much is being read into this.

  12. In the Dan Brown book Da Vinci Code, there are all sorts of comments about the Priory of Sion and their shadowy attempts to hide or discover the truth about Jesus and Mary M. Just what is going on here?

Many people have pointed out the great fiction of the conspiracy with the Priory of Sion. This is clearly fiction. Not only is it fiction, but it is a fiction which a thief deliberately created to bilk people out of money. That guy was sued in French court and the entire sham was made quite public. It’s a bit irresponsible for Dan Brown to resurrect this whole falsehood and give it the appearance of truth. It would be as if an anti-Indian guy went around to Indian reservations and convinced them all they had money coming to them, then was prosecuted and thrown into jail … but a few years later a famous author put together a book that tried to convince people that money was really out there for them.

Brown also plagiarizes himself. All four of his books share the same set of plot elements, especially the last two which are in the same world. Here’s a comparison of the previous book with Da Vinci Code (spoilers obviously):

    Angels & Demons:
Robert Langdon is awoken in the middle of the night and swept to the ritually mutilated body at the scene of a murder. Four high-ranking Cardinals are being killed by a black-eyed assassin, controlled by a faceless commander, fulfilling an ancient prophecy by a secret society to undermine the Church. The body is that of the father of beautiful Italian bio-entanglement physicist Vittoria Vetra, who vows revenge and embarks on a frantic hunt with Langdon to decode clues hidden in the famed artwork of Vatican City and find the killer with the help of a crippled, possibly evil physicist and save Catholicism before it’s too late. After all, the conspiracy is found to be merely the acts of a rogue Bishop and his depraved henchman. Having fallen madly in love, Robert and Vittoria are about to have wild tantric sex when the book ends.

    Da Vinci Code:
Robert Langdon is awoken in the middle of the night and swept to the ritually mutilated body at the scene of a murder. Four high-ranking members of the art world are being killed by a red-eyed assassin, controlled by a faceless commander, fulfilling an ancient prophecy by a secret society to undermine the Church. The body is that of the grandfather of beautiful French cryptographer Sophie Neveu, who vows revenge and embarks on a frantic hunt with Langdon to decode clues hidden in the famed artwork of Paris and find the killer with the help of a crippled, possibly evil historian and save Catholicism before it’s too late. After all, the conspiracy is found to be merely the acts of a rogue Bishop and his depraved henchman. Having fallen madly in love, Robert and Sophie make a date. It is never mentioned that this is isn’t the first time Robert’s saved Catholicism, or that he still hasn’t asked for a “thank you.”

    any comments?

  14. “christianity teaches love”- hmm, unless you’re gay, African (the anti-condom thing, i know its catholic, but it’s murder. end of story.), of a different faith or just plain not interested. i all of these cases, god help you. or rather someone else help you coz god hates you. and women get quite a raw deal too.

  15. Well i’m pretty much a n00b at this (only ever ran ads on my own fansite/forum before). But i’ve managed to get thebeastmovie.co.uk (.com being the official site). I was really suprised it wasn’t already registered. At the mo i’ve just got a bit of info on the movie up on there… need to figure out what i should do with it now and get a proper site up 🙂

  16. Christianity is never a religion by the way. it’s a fellowship with God. it is God reaching out to his people not people reaching out to their gods. perhaps u don’t know what Christianity is. that’s why people like you always misinterpret it as a “religion thing”. you can do that yourselves? wow! amazing! but tell you, you really can’t do anything without God. you can’t claim it is love without faith. call it something else. maybe lust or say, temporary care. Christians doesn’t compete with other beleifs! it is just drawing people and sharing them the good news that Christ Jesus loves you and paid the debts of your sin!(you can never understand that unless you’ll know the meanig of his sacrifice.)now, as normal people. everybody commits mistakes. even the high priest as what they call it. does Christianity really breed hatred? boy, u took it wrong again. Chistianity is giving out love. accepting Jesus Chist. if one does breed hate. then call it a fake christian but never judge my dear. people laugh talking about Jesus. Why? perhaps some of these people are slave of sin that’s why seing or hearing something holy is unusual and they call it funny or corny or weird? too bad Satan dag a hole inside these people’s heart n stay there. blinded n never knowing what is real from what is not. accused the holies to be unholies. (da vinci’s code) hangged in the middle never knowing which way to go. or maybe, plainly stick on sinning since they don’t believe in Jesus anyways. do they? do they really find pleasure or happiness from that? or it’s just another pleasure of self-destruction. someday we’ll all see. take extra care my dear. God always love you. 6-6-6, the anti-christ will only pass as another part of history. But God forever stays and lives!!! remember, he is the author of His own Story. History.

  17. It is a good idea that you are gearing yourself up for the movie “The Beast”, but if this website doesnt go well with audience your domains, and all marketing plans will be in doldrum.

    Better wait and then decide.

  18. did it work out?
the movie is running all over the world right now (date today is: 6+6.06.2006 (dd-mm-yy)) and I wanted to know if you reached your goals / if ‘religion’ was the right niche for 2006 …
    best whishes from germay,
    oliver
