So azoogleads has shown me a bit of love. I bumped them up to 50% in my ratio and am doing decent 5 figures a day. Last Friday night I am feeling pretty good about it and then all of a sudden someone messages me (a visitor to my site) says a affiliate link is down!. I didn’t really know what he meant so I started looking all over and sure enough all of the links to azoogle for this affiliate were just blanked out white pages…
I was pretty furious. I called my rep and also emailed her right away. No response. I messaged there online support and here is the chat log:
Session Start (Shoemoneymedia:azoogleads): Fri Oct 21 17:33:34 2005
[17:33] shoemoneymedia: are you there
[17:35] shoemoneymedia: your dada mobile link is fucked up
[17:35] shoemoneymedia: if anyone is there
[17:41] shoemoneymedia: ok I am pulling all azoogle off of my site
[18:49] azoogleads: hi
[18:49] azoogleads: whats wrong with the link?
Session Close (azoogleads): Sat Oct 22 21:30:30 2005
Notice how there only line of support was over 1 hour to respond….. lovely….
Today I get a email (3 days later) from my rep saying that it was a glitch in the system and they were sorry……
I am really scared the more heat I put on azoogle. At least with other affiliates I have never had any experience with downtime. Maybe others can comment on this with other affiliates. To me this is unacceptable. I have implemented a script that checks the md5 hash of the refer page and notifies me if there is any change in the html. Its very dirty code but it works (for now).
It also let me sleep a little bit better.
At this point I am very hesitant to up the traffic to azoogleads. While they are paying on par with other providers there tier system sucks. If you make over 100k/month you get a 1,000$ amazon gift cert…. hmmm ok. I just ordered my gift certificate last week we will see how long it takes to get here.
That is all for now – $hoemoney
I think that their datacenter went offline not that long ago, but they then paid 50% extra for leads acquired during a 24hr period once things went back to normal. To be honest I have found them reliable, but I have noticed that my ad Azoogle ad performance has been trending down.
[…] I was just reading a friend’s blog and noticed his recent problems with Azoogle Ads. Apparently, Shoemoney has found that there have been a number of issues that have plagued his use of the Azoogle Ad network. One of which appears to be some kind of blocking or blacklisting of Azoogle by Speakeasy and Covad customers. I told him about some issues I had where I could not click on an ad and have it resolve to a page. He finally realized, after a number of other people told him about the issue, that there was a problem with their network and a couple of major DSL carriers. That is not cool. But, worse than that, are the downtime issues that he has seen. Now, my boy is no small timer and he is seeing some big traffic and CTR on the pages he is running Azoogle Ads on. Downtime, means lost money. I will try and keep you posted on what if anything is done to resolve the issues. tags: advertising, azooogle, marketing […]
