Greg Hartnett Comes On For Episode 7 Of Net Income

20 people have said their piece on this post. What say you?

I got in Monday night about 1AM from Las Vegas and spent most of Tuesday catching up on email and other misc stuff. I shot a email over to my friends Brian and Greg at BOTW to see if they were interested. They responded and said Greg was available.

Greg came on and we did the latest news which basically just consisted of 2 things.

After then break Greg gave a little bit about his background then we talked about a interesting item that a young lady emailed me about a blog post titled Top 10 Dumbest Online Business Ideas That Made It Big Time

As I said on the radio I think the word Dumb should be replaced with Simple. Obviously there is nothing dumb involved….

We talked at length about conferences and really if you don’t listen to the podcast I want to say this:

Before I went to San Jose SES last year I never made more then 5 figures a month on adsense. I instantly quadrupled our companies gross income (as you can see in the pic to the right) just by applying a few things I learned at this the conference. It was my first conference I ever went to and I cant tell you how it changed my life.

I have been to every major SES and WebmasterWorld Pubcon USA based conference and each time I went I learned something that drastically made a difference in my companies profitability.

I get the question a lot “can I justify the cost of the conference”. My answer is always “Can you afford not to go”.

Thanks to Greg Hartnett for coming on the show.

Stuck In The Denver Airport - United Airlines 4TW

12 people have said their piece on this post. What say you?

One of the downsides of living in such a small town (Lincoln, NE) is that its really hard to get a non stop flight anywhere. Usually I have layovers in Minneapolis, Denver, or Chicago depending where I am flying.

My assistant/business manager, wife, 1 month old baby, and myself are on our way to Las Vegas. I am mainly going to support 2 of my friends who I am sponsoring in this years World Series Of Poker.

Yesterday I called in some favors and was able to get a press pass (for shoemoney.com) for me at the World Series Of Poker that I have to pick up by 5pm today or they said forget it.

Well…. We landed in Denver to catch our connecting flight to Las Vegas and ….. surprise…. the flight was canceled. Weird eh? I actually have the boarding passes in my hand and the flight was canceled. Wonder when they were going to notify anyone. Anyway they tell me I need to wait for customer service… which took about 1 hour for them to tell me WE are #20-24 on the standby list for the 2:30pm flight…. weeeeeeeeee

If we cant get on that then we wont get to Vegas until tomorrow. I asked the united rep if they are going to refund the 600$ in show tickets and hotel reservations we have for tonight and he laughed and told me to read my contract… that did not really help the situation.

I wonder if I can bribe the airline guy to move us up on the list.. is that like a violation that will lead me to getting a cavity search or something…

Anyone else stranded in the Denver Airport want to talk SEO/SEM/PPC or whatever send me a email ;)

Matt Hughes - 8 Time UFC Welterweight Champion To Endorse ShoeMoney

22 people have said their piece on this post. What say you?

As first announced on my blogcast yesterday ShoeMoney Media Group INC has ink’d a deal with Matt Hughes to have him do some paid endorsements of some of my websites and also in his next fight 2 of his corner guys are going to be wearing my shirts and Matt will have a small patch on his shorts of one of my sites. I have not decided what shirts yet. I really think its kind of silly to have them wear shoemoney shrits since like I make little money off of this blog… I dunno that might be fun though to see them in the white ShoeMoney shirt to such a HUGE audience that the UFC PPV gets.

Matt trains in my hometown and he was super easy to work with. The hardest part was getting his phone number. I cant wait to see how it works out ;)
We are going to be doing filming July 31st at Champions Gym in Davenport, IA

How To Get Started With PPC And Affiliates - Net Income 7/18 Podcast

12 people have said their piece on this post. What say you?

Barry came on and did the money minute with me. He was really rushed for time and I was glad we were able to get everything in. I guess this is how the money minute should be. I don’t think people really want to hear us go on and on about the news cause most people can google it for themselves.

Here are the items we covered in the money minute:

After the Money Minute we went to break then I brought on Kris from pepperjam again to talk more about making money with ppc+affiliates. We started basically from square one of how you get started then progressed more into advanced stuff.

Kris also talked about how they got a ad in a major add publication through google adwords print media for next to nothing. I thought this was pretty interesting to get his take on that since I have never heard from a advertiser on what they thought of that feature.

I think the show was by far the best and most informative to date. Please let me know what you think!

Thanks again to Kris from Pepperjamsearch for coming on.

Tomorrow (Friday) I am headed to Las Vegas to play in the WSOP satellite events. I will be there until Monday. I plan on doing a live show on Tuesday just not sure yet the topic. Suggestions as always are welcome!

Net Income 7-18 PPC And Arbitrage part II

8 people have said their piece on this post. What say you?

Last weeks show I thought was really good. I am still learning the ropes a lot with this radio host gig but it sure makes it easy when you have a guest that is so knowledgeable.

We did not really get to cover much that we wanted to last week so Kris Jones of pepperjamsearch.com has agreed to come on the show again this week.

I am not going to lie normally I get a lot of compliments on the show… mostly good job, keep it up, and stuff like that. But after last weeks show I got SO MANY questions about PPC and stuff… Most of them were asking where and how to start for the average person. That is one thing I really want to cover. After we cover getting started I am hoping we have enough time this week to talk about bid shadowing and bid jamming.

Should be another great show with Kris

My New Work Day Schedule

12 people have said their piece on this post. What say you?

First of all I want to say thanks to everyone who sent me TONS of great tips for being a new father. I REALLY appriciate it.

Now with the baby and everything I have been getting a lot of emails asking me what my day is like so for those that care i put together a little schedule:

Morning

wake up and start my breakfast - omelet 3 eggs, swiss and ham complete with diet pepsi. While cooking my breakfast I get the baby up and give her the morning bath. just as we finish with the bath and i dress her my omelet is ready for the flip. After the flip I put cheese on my omelet and go and get dressed + take my morning vitamins.

I come back put my breakfast on a plate grab the baby and head down to work. Down at my office I put the baby in her swing but usually don’t swing her. I try to get through my email before she is rowdy and wants to feed. If I can make it through email then I will approve some pending comments on my blog. I 99% of the time approve all so its a pretty fast process. If I am lucky enough to get this far then I will play with her a bit. Usually just take her out of her swing and put her in her bouncer on my desk (yea i should put up some new pics of the baby equipped shoemoney office but i think some people would puke from corniness ).

Lunch -

Ok by now I take her up stairs check/change diaper and then goto moms for lunch. I hand her off for nursing with my wife while I go back down to the office and try to get some real work done.

Usually by now I am pretty hungary so I nuke 1 can of chef-boy-r-dee beef ravioli in the microwave and touch base with my business manager for the day to see where we are at and if I need to sign/approve/deny anything.

Once my ravioli is done i go back to my desk and check all forms of revenue to make sure everything is up to par. This involves checking paypal, azoogleads, commission junction, yahoo publisher network, google adsense and a few other things.

usually between those I will see some issue somewhere and deal with it or talk to my developer about it.

Then I will check out my PPC spends on the various engines.

After that I log into my analytics and check stats for sites making sure stuff is on par.

Dinner -

my wife and I really like to go out to dinner and we love to take the baby out. We do not venture out far but what dictates when we go is usually right after the baby has had a post 4pm nursing. We can usually get 1-2 hours of her being SUPER GOOD at a restraunt.

After dinner I will come home and try to get some new work done but this is really hit and miss. Most of the time at night I have to deal with issues from my various forums where somebody got there feelings hurt or there was a problem with something or just basic questions.

I will try to get in a shower so I can be to bed by 8pm. I then give the baby a night time bath and then she goes for more nursing.

During the night me and my wife have worked out a pretty good system. usually at 10pm 1am 3am 5am 7am I will get up and change her and then my wife will nurse then put her back to sleep. Its working well for us these first couple weeks. it just doesn’t really allow much sleep =)

I was talking to my developer today and I told him a bunch of stuff I wanted to focus on then he told me I already told him all of that yesterday…. weird stuff like that is happening to me a lot now lol..

Having a baby is a pretty amazing deal. I have learned that keeping the pace I was and being a good father is just not going to happen so learning to compromise is getting interesting.

Thanks again for all the nice words and advice.
