Neil Patel came on this weeks addition of Net Income. Being Saturday I am leaving for Affiliate Summit and really had nothing better to talk about I thought I would invite Neil on to talk about conferences. Often I am asked the difference between all the conferences so I tried as best as I could to give them from my point of view. Neil also offered a lot of valuable opinions from his experience.

I might piss a few people off in this one but I mean what the hell. I just try to give my honest opinion of the conferences. We also discuss the boothbabes contest from adtech and some other things.

We also talked about what forums are good. It gets pretty long and I think I blab a lot so if you happen to make it to then end then congrats.

You can download the podcast in mp3 here or click the play buttons below to listen in.

There will be no Radio Show tomorrow as we are observing the “Day Of Silence”

In response to a impending royalty rate increase that, if implemented, could lead to the virtual shutdown of Internet radio in the US, thousands of webcasters plan to go silent next Tuesday, June 26, to draw attention to their industry’s plight.

This “Day of Silence” is an encore of a media event that small webcasters organized on May 1, 2002 in response to a similarly royalty rate ruling from a Copyright Arbitration Royalty Panel five years ago. That event garnered national attention and was subsequently followed by a rate cut by the Librarian of Congress and the passage of the Small Webcaster Settlement Act for the period 1998-2005.

Webcasters will be alerting their listeners that “silence” is what Internet radio may sound like on or shortly after July 15th, the day on which 17 months’ worth of retroactive royalty increase payments are due to the SoundExchange collection organization under the terms of a recent Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) decision

Today on Net Income Rand Fishkin was my guest and we debated Blogging Disclosure. Basically if you need to disclose your relationship about things you write about. I think disclosure is silly and at one point I say some things I probably should not have but… whatever =P.

Rand believes what he believes and I do not want to put words in his mouth so listen to the debate!

I did not do a full writeup because I would basically be summarizing and of course I would tell it from my side. That kind of defeats my whole argument of letting people decide for themselves so I would just encourage you to listen if you care

I have been using Tom to make my landing pages ever since I started with PPC. We a lot about all the different landing pages he has done, what designs work best and Tom even goes on to talk about what a lot of people are having him work on now.

One thing pretty cool with Tom is that he does not do any pay per click or affiliate marketing himself. So he really has no interest in keeping any secrets and he lets out some good ones in this weeks ShoeMoney Show.

If you are looking for a landing page tom is the best in the biz with over 10 years experience (I have been using him for design for 10 years myself). His site is here
