What happened to Affiliate Blogs?

by Jeremy Schoemaker on December 27, 2013 · 14 comments

4-5 Years ago there was a ton of GREAT affiliate blogs. AND a ton of great forums for affiliates.

All of these places shared some great content.

This blog has never really been a affiliate blog or anything more than about me. I also used to give a ton of information on here. Lots of step by step walk throughs. I will occasionally throw out some easy ways to make money but its more of a hobby for me.

successful-affiliate-website-or-blogForums like DigitalPoint and Wickedfire used to be a huge hotbed for valuable information… But I think people got tiered of all the wannabes and shit talkers.

When people ask me where the best information is right now I direct them to either my free training course which is somewhat outdated OR the ImGrind forums (pay).

The best blogs right now that I read are Charles Ngo and John Chow (I know I can’t believe I am saying that).

Know of any great blogs for affiliates?

I would like to nominate mine Jeremy! It’s only been going for a couple of years so it’s not that well known yet. I try to put all good and useful tips on there that will stand the test of time. I largely avoid the latest fad techniques. Take a look and see what ya think http://www.AffiliateHelp.Info

I learned everything on the affilate summit ’10-’12 YouTube videos.

I’d have to agree with you on this one Shoe, WTF happened to the affiliate blogs?

Thanks for the tip on the forum though, happy new year.

Well this is connected to SEO right? All the major affiliate companies lost money and so did they. Google played a big part it in + general keyphrase domain names aren’t worth what they were valued years ago

It really does seem the high tide has gone out of the harbor….thank god for your Shoemoney Girl gallery to keep us company…

I’m a beginning blogger and a “hope to be affiliate”. I hope that lack of quality affiliate blogs doesn’t mean that being an affiliate today is becoming more difficult due to things like Google’s algorithm updates. I’m currently taking a make money online course (sorry Shoe, not yours) and the idea is to create your own stuff (blog, products). Perhaps more people out there are doing this instead and therefore less need to sell other peoples stuff.

John Chow has gone more into relax mode, either putting out offers or guest posts, no real learning.

Hi Jeremy,
I can’t believe you just said that either, however, I must say you are not far from the truth. There are hardly any “Must Go To” affiliate blog around. What we have now are blogs where information on how to make money are hyped to clutter the brain of the newbie.

However, there are still great blogs where affiliates can learn more about affiliate marketing. You are right, Charles Ngo and John Chow are great affiliate blogs!

I have left this comment in kingged.com – the content syndication site for Internet marketers.

The warrior forum still seems like a place where you can find useful information. They do a lot of threads about affiliate marketing but I would have to put them in the internet marketing niche as their primary focus.

Now a day everyone is looking to make money quickly, hence compromising on Content. But still there are several quality affiliate sites.

Rae’s, of course.

what’s the deal with Amazon not allowing CO residents to be affiliates?

Frustrating!
