Yup I got burned

by Jeremy Schoemaker on June 2, 2011 · 20 comments

You probably saw the post on here a couple days ago about bad publicity and groupon.

The post was submitted to my new assistant last week.  She gave the author our normal guidelines which include not posting the article anywhere else.

I have been away in Florida for the last 10 days… hence my lack of posting.. but then people noticed the same article appeared on John Chow last week.

I just want to be clear I was not paid for this article…  I thought it had good value to my readers.

Bleh I got duped.  My bad.  No more guests posts from people I dont personally know

As if it fooking matters. I don’t read John Chow’s blog — and thought the post was good.

It’s not as if your site is going to get dropped for dup content — i bet 90% of your visitors are direct anyway!!! ;)

99% of the people will try to dupe you. People have to earn trust. Good call.

Don’t sweat it, I’ve got a great guest post for you. I’m just waiting for it to go live on John Chow 1st.

That sucks, I doubt it would make any difference since you have huge amount of unique content anyway. It just tells a lot about the person that submitted the post thinking they can get away with it.

I started to read that post but couldn’t get through it…the formatting kinda sucked or maybe long paragraphs or something.

Wow, so 2 times in the past week this new assistant has messed up.

I think it’s time for you to not only fire them, but to start a negative online rep management campaign against them, so that they will fail in life and never be able to do anything except be homeless.

They should know that you work for Shoe or you will never work again.

People do not understand that ya kno ?

Hi Jeremy, quick question as I noticed you said you were in Florida. Were you driving in a Black BMW 5 series with Nebraska plates near Tampa? I passed one and could of sworn it was you in the back seat.
