It always amazes me how many people think that politicians are looking out for the little or lower class guy.
It’s truly amazing marketing.
Here is the deal. You want to not get screwed in life? Make money and lots of it.
The more money I make the less I pay in taxes, the more freebie items I get, the less meals I pay for, and just an entirely better quality of life.
When I first started in this business and would goto events I would pay 1-2k for a ticket.. airfare, hotels, drinks meals, by the time you add it all up probably 3-4k in total expenses.
I can’t remember the last conference where I had to pay my own airfare, hotel, drinks, or dinner. And the more successful we become the more breaks we get.
I will be the first to admit I tripped over a rock and fell face first into making money on the internet.
Maybe thats why I feel like I can talk so frank about it.
The lower and middle class are programed from a early age to work their asses off making someone else rich 9-5 every day.
The lower to middle class get sold on the dream that they can get rich over night by buying a lottery ticket for $1. But the fact is 80% of those that do win end up way worse off then before they started.
The lower to middle class get payday loans paying usually whatever maximum interest rate the state maximum allows. This can be as much as 40%.
The lower to middle class are the largest consumers of cigarettes. The only reason they are legal is because the tabacco lobby puts an enourmous amount of money into politicians hands… these same guys that are put into office to protect you.
The only interest politicians have is power and money and that means making sure the rich always win at whatever cost to our country.
This post was inspired because while in Salt Lake City we had a little meetup and 2 seperate people told me their stories on how I woke them up and they started making money on the internet. It wasn’t specifically something I walked them through but more just that it can happen with time and work.
I wish I could wake up more people.

The secret is in leverage.. but a few people can get to even rich that leverage. or sometimes don’t even realize that it exists
AMEN, Jeremy. I hate seeing most of my friends working 9-5 (or more these days) just to make someone else rich. It was only when I started my own business did I realize how much money “the man” must have been making off of my labor all these years. I’m so glad, as an independent, I’m able to cut out the middle man. I wish more people would wake up, too.
It is very sad indeed. If the government shuts down like they said it could it is just hurting the middle and lower class. It is also really hurting our military people.
Thanks Greg Ellison
It’s funny because I used to want to be a politician. But my wife sent me on a different path with one question: do you want to be the puppet or the puppetmaster? Good post, Jeremy!
Wide awake here Shoe! It’s like I put those sunglasses on from They Live and see all those subliminal messages everywhere. The resistance is live and well here.
It is so true that 9-5 employees get sold on the idea that working for someone else is the path to happiness. I have been an employee and a business owner and I agree that being an employee sucks.
True that there are problems with being a business owner, but at least you have the ability to make as much money as you can and there is way more freedom involved.
Brandon
It’s interesting that many people do not realize that they can be that wealthy successful person getting all the breaks and benefits of wealth. If you want to be wealthy…be wealthy.
Patrick
I wish that more people had this type of common sense, then we wouldn’t have so much of this poverty crap..
“Black Seo Guy “Signing Off”
Shoe, I couldn’t agree more. I get so annoyed with my liberal friends who say things like “Why aren’t you for taxing the rich, they got enough money!”. I used to be a CPA and know, first hand, that the rich pay lower % of taxes than someone making $30K per year. Politicians want you to think they are going after the rich, while creating loopholes/subsidies as a kick-back i.e. crony capitalism.
It’s like this whole thing in Wisconsin. Politicians that fled the state are being looked at as heroes by the middle class. When in reality, they are just slaves to unions and the money they provide.
Politicians are ego-maniacs and will do whatever it takes to protect their power. And what it takes is making the middle class believe they are working for them, while protecting people with money behind the scenes. If you think otherwise, you’re a schmuck.
But what if everyone tries to wake up at the same time?. The system is designed so a vast majority stay “asleep” while others can enjoy it.
I agree things are designed so that the majority of people are “asleep”, but I would disagree about it being a bad thing if everyone woke up.
Thats the beauty of the free market, even if blogging and most CPA offers got completely saturated, that still opens huge opportunities to people who think outside the box. New leaders emerge and new industries come alive, and when its all said and done, we wonder how we ever lived without it.
If you went back in time even just 30-40 years ago and talked about how things are today. People would be horrified. They dont want to have to learn new skills, they didnt want to see their jobs replaced by spreadsheet software, outsourced workers, and the vast amount of automation businesses use today.
It happened anyways, we all adapted, and nobody would ever want to go back to work manually processing a pile of paper spreadsheets for their accounting department with pen and calculator.
Back to my earlier point, even if this current industry were completely saturated, new things always emerge. Usually as a result of the saturation.
Its a very rare situation where noone can think of a new business for a new environment. When they do, profit is generally low prioty.
Dave you are right on that stand, politically working people are just to protect a super class of moderated people. The whole system need a change.
I have been promoting loan offers with over 3000 % APR. No regulations to the rate in this part of the world.
I think you’ve found a correlation, but not causation.
The rich – especially the new rich – are there because they took action. They don’t sit around and expect others to provide for them, but get out and build the infrastructure necessary to employ others, and take the risks that others aren’t willing to take.
To say the rich control much of our political landscape is an obvious truth. To say that they control because of the mere fact that they are rich is to ignore that which sets people apart – the rich take action.
If you want to be an active part of a process, whether that is the political process or your own economic prospects, YOU MUST TAKE ACTION.
I don’t think he mentioned anything about correlation or causation. He said that money influences people. You don’t personally need to even throw your money around. If politicians or people think you’re part of a group (the rich) that has money, they’ll take care of that group as a whole.
It is not that I care about paying for things or not…I am so so so grateful that I can work whenever I want to work, go on holiday when I want to go and do not have to talk to boring people if I don’t want to.
“The only interest politicians have is power and money and that means making sure the rich always win at whatever cost to our country.”
That may be the case, but here in England when I was first elected at 26 to public office I wasn’t interested in money (it was an unpaid position) and it didn’t give me much power! I spent the next two years strengthening democracy, encouraging people and making the world a better place. At no point did I do things for money or power!
In the big-time state/national politics, they don’t have the same view. If you’ve risen to that level, you’re power hungry. Nobody with pure intentions will make it far unless they’re willing to sell out to some special interest.
There are basically three tiers here:-
local council (3 councillors 4 year term 10,000 voters)
MP (1 MP 5 year term 67,000 voters)
MEP (Member European Parliament) 8 MEPS 5.2 million voters
The higher up the food chain you get the more special interest groups, money, influence etc start having an effect.
A councillor could influence a decision for £500, but it takes more to get an MP to ask questions etc… course the press does love reporting when politicians do things just for money…
On the pure intentions side – play by the rules and you’ll come 2nd.
Lie to the voters in order to get elected and you’ll win.
John, the US political system is more corrupt than ever. Unlimited campaign contributions are now legal. Our major parties are bought and paid for. Corporate interests rule this country.
“The more money I make the less I pay in taxes”
I would appreciate a brief explanation of how you have been able to pay less in taxes the more money you make.
Are you saying that you pay a smaller absolute dollar amount in taxes than you did before or simply a smaller percentage of your income? Do mean you pay less in taxes than when you were a regular employee or less than when you first started making money online?
I know there are ways of structuring a corporation to shield much of one’s business income from taxes. Is that is what you are referring to?
The sad truth is that most people don’t have the mindset or confidence to do something on their own. And failing at a past endeavor (as we all have) can be a discouraging dragon staring us down as we head off to a “secure” job.
Here’s to hoping that more of us break away from the pack and give the finger to the Man!
I totally agree with your post.
Well, if you read between the lines here, you get a pretty good idea of the qualities one needs to become rich.
And indeed, when I think of rich people I know, I see those characteristics in (not all) but most of them.
Arrogant, egocentric, untrustable and bad educated to name a few.
That´s why everybody can´t become rich. Most people don´t have those characteristics. We should be grateful for that.
You are so right. The whole political system is definitely geared to the rich but really to the smart rich people. I watched the move Inside Job mainly because it won an Oscar and it was about the financial meltdown so I knew it would be good. Also, I love expose type of movies and this one blew my mind! Everybody should see this movie to learn how the economy ended up this way and how brokers really make you broke!
It’s like the Matrix, and you’re waking people up!
Well I’m happy to say you woke me up. Or rather, the photo of you and your big google check. At the time I only had retail websites online (and was making a good living with them). But reading about you, and even meeting you at Affiliate Summit 2010 in Vegas one year (thanks for the pass bro), I was inspired to branch out into Affiliate Marketing.
Now I get fat weekly checks from Clickbank, CJ, and a monthly check from google. All checks are 4 figures, and I’m looking forward to the not-so-distant future when they’re 5 digits and beyond.
Keep waking people up, Shoe. But not too many people. After all, we can’t all be making money online.
Goodmorning!
This post really hits the nail on the head. The worst is that on your way up, your friends and those around you who are trapped in the 9-5 mentality will try to tear you down, bash, hate, and generally are so brainwashed that what you are doing seems totally inconceivable to them.
Until you finally meet with some real success, at which point a lot of those folks then seem to get scornful. I remember when I bought my first exotic car. People were always trying to drag me down, and then I roll up and it was just disbelief. Could not comprehend or understand that it was possible.
I have a lot of friends from all walks of life and one thing I’ve learned is to just avoid getting into it or not really go into it when you get the inevitable “so what do you do”?
I work a “day job” mainly because i love it and for the challenge and not so much for the money but even that is not a 9-5 jobby job, its just another company I’m involved in. Its just not possible to explain to a 9-5er what I do or how I do it, because they either don’t believe it or get a chip off their shoulder. Some of the sites and things I do have a long incubation period. You know it takes a fair amount of time before it starts to take off, and takes a lot of nurturing. Most folks don’t understand that part of it. The best analogy I have is its like growing an elite lawn (one of my hobbies). Doesn’t happen overnight, or even in a month. Takes a lot of careful planning, some thinking ahead, and a lot of process and nurturing. You don’t see the fruits of your labor until maybe a season or 2 seasons out. A year or two or maybe 3. But then it comes in with that amazing look. Same thing online. It takes patience. You plant your seeds and nurture them and then one day they’re all grown up!
The situation is same but probably worst in countries like India.
Great article – I like your style – chrystal clear end cut to the bone – Nice
Making it online is as any other business offline a matter of planning, setting up a vision make a strategy, and take action. After a while you don’t need the “business in a box” crap anymore.
Cheers
Tina
Hi there.
About this post, it’s really nice. Thanks for posting it.I would like to read some more informations about what
you wrote in this article. It helps me a lot with my businesses, inspires me.
Seems like many do not really realize what the politicians are about. They are just talk and protecting the wealthy people’s pockets due to the politicians being in the them:) So strive to become wealthy and get more nice breaks and you will.
Nice post. It’s exciting to be alive at this point in time because people are waking up… each one at the time that is right for them. And once enough people do, the whole thing will change in a blink.
Unfortunately, there is still lots of people out there that think that Democrats or Republicans and even the President is going to save their as*&%#…..
The true is that the only person that can save them is themselves.
They need to open their minds and see how this world works.
One of the reason why most people won’t make the first step to be on their own is because they fear the unknown… Also I think not everyone has entrepreneurship qualities. Great post!
I agree with you Jeremy its like we say in Mexico (I hope it makes sense in english) “Life is like a henhouse, the lower you are the more $#¡+ you get from others”.
By the way this is my first comment on your blog and i wanted to thank you for the shoemoney system I am getting very nice results with it…
Great post.. reminds me of some of the teachings in the secret. I purposely got sleeves so that it would be difficult to get employment thus forcing me to stay self employed. My last job was loss prevention for a department store back in 1997.
Its like the old saying “the rich get richer and the poor get poorer”. I totally agree that the rich people get anything they want without paying for it and I think that is a crying shame. There are people who do not have anything to their name and have to work their whole life to be successful. On the other hand the rich politicians should not get paid no more than $150,000 a year. They are here to do a community service by working in congress or a state legislator. Who gives them the right to make deals with the big name companies and get rich off of it. I think that the rich should pay higher taxes then anybody else and I want to come up with my own saying “the rich get poor and the poor get rich”.
Yeh, let’s punish the people who are actually producing income and revenue. Those mean ole’ rich people who work hard, provide jobs and stimulate the economy are what’s hurting this country!
This is real life, not a Disney movie. There’s no reason to be broke and looking for handouts in America.
- Justin
The richest people in this country earn the bulk of their income through capital gains and dividends taxed at 15%. By definition there is no work by the capital holder involved in these income generating activities. How exactly are they being punished by being taxed at the same rate as someone who earns $25,000 per annum? There is no requirement to work or provide jobs to be taxed at this rate. This is real life, not a Disney movie. There are plenty of reasons for hard working people to be broke in America through no fault of their own.
“The lower and middle class are programed from a early age to work their asses off making someone else rich 9-5 every day.”
You’re dead on there. I did a post with my views on that here:
http://www.pjkdirect.com/2011/04/how-do-you-view-your-life-and-the-world
It’s a good story to inspire me about making money when I wake up. I saw what you said about politicians and wasn’t surprised, because my I remember what my grandmother said to me about the I.R.S. – “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.”
I have found that the biggest scam in life is forcing someone to have a work ethic. Putting in work is not bad, its the way we work that’s the problem. We are taught to have loyalty to employers, that NOT working is bad, that it takes tons of money to start a business, blah, blah blah. Then, we teach people that the only way they can make money in life is to blow $50-100k of our future money on schooling that is outdated. Mortgage and finance everything. What a racket! The fat cats must be rolling around, laughing their butts off. And we buy into this “dream.”
Still, I believe that many people are fear and scarcity driven, so it’s easy for them to buy into this major lie. Most people are lazy and would rather show up than strike out on their own. Still, that is no reason to pluck them like geese and use them and then discard them.
You’re right, it’s cool to be rich. It’s also cheaper. No late fees, no high interest charges, no inconveniences (like riding the bus for an hour to work) that sucks up precious time. No lack of medical and preventative care that will kill you earlier or put you in the hospital. As I have discovered recently due to a series of unfortunate events, being broke is VERY expensive.
I’m through with sleepwalking through life. I’m wide awake now. Thankfully, you are willing to share how you get money in your life with the rest of us. There are many people like you out there. As a first time visitor, I would like to say that I’m glad I visited your site. I will be back.
The only way to live is rich, but are we all really meant to be rich?
money doesn’t mean everything!
I just tried to purchase your shoemoney at home job system but couldn’t get past the DVD offer page. My credit card was charged but I have no confirmation number or any idea what to expect or when to expect it. Could you please have someone contact me so we can straighten this out? Thank you.
Marcie Summons
great post. thanks for the refresher.
