Low transaction cost and the profit potential – two reasons I want to give trading a try. It’ll be great though to learn the ropes well first before I venture into it. Trading Heroes seems like a great place to pick some tips.

The fees and commissions involved in trading forex are among the lowest across all financial sectors, and that is massive savings for you if you are serious about forex trading.

I was following Hugh’s articles online ever since I became involved with FX trading seven months back. He advised that when someone becomes interested in forex trading, “they first need to gain a baseline knowledge of how the forex market works. They learn things like what a pip is, what markets are open at which times and how news affects currency prices. Then they learn how to setup a demo account and start trading play money.”

31 Mark Dee February 27, 2011 at 8:20 pm

Hugh encouraged even the most uninitiated newbies to try their hand on forex trading, however, with a coach to give some useful tips and pointers along the the way. He believed that currency trading training can help you become a better trader, regardless of your current skill level.

A good mentor can keep you from making the same mistakes and speeding up the time it takes you to become successful. You do not need to reinvent the wheel.

Striving for your goals by yourself might lead you to success but having a mentor to assist you can result in achieving even greater heights than you imagined.

Exactly. If you are looking to become a successful forex trader, the only way is to learn from someone who is trading for a living. Why would you learn from someone who doesn’t know how to do what you want to do?

Do you agree? Think of all the skills you have attained over the years, how did you gain these skills? Usually someone taught you how to do it.

I understand Hugh Kimura’s insight when he said that choosing the wrong host can be a nightmare. Ever experienced anything horrific with a host gone wrong, Shoe?

Reply

37 New Bee February 27, 2011 at 8:37 pm

It is good to make a right web hosting choice the first time, because if you have to move to another service, it will cost you time and you may lose some of your valued customers due to the downtime setting up with another hosting company. You may also have to pay set up and hosting fees for a new account.

In my opinion, much of this basic knowledge can be obtained for free on the internet. Google “forex school” and you will come up with some great free resources that will teach you the very basic concepts of forex trading. This can be a great way to learn about currency trading and find out if it is something that you are really interested in.

Mine is this!

The Walton’s invited their new neighbors over to dinner. During dinner Mr.Walton was asked what he did for a living.

Eight year old Brian Walton jumped in and said, “Daddy is a fisherman!” To which Mrs.Walton replied, “Brian, why do say that. Your daddy is a stockbroker, not a fisherman.”

“No mom. Everytime we visit dad at work and he hangs up the phone he laughs, rubs his hands together and says ‘I just caught another fish’.”

Is currency trading and stock market one and the same?

Reply

65 Manisha Sithembile February 27, 2011 at 9:58 pm

A major difference is informational. Currency values are almost exclusively effected by two different types of events: developments of importance to entire macro-economies and geopolitical events.

Stocks are effected by these things as well, of course, but a whole other slew of factors determine the fate of individual companies. Details as minute as which consultant is hired to negotiate with a union can drive a stock up or down.

Reply

66 Roshaun Philips February 27, 2011 at 9:59 pm

Another difference is volatility. Obviously, the stock market itself – which is to say nothing of individual stocks – is far more volatile than the world’s major currencies. You can always increase your effective volatility by increasing how much your investment is leveraged. However, you can’t reduce the volatility of the stock market.

Or if you get too greedy and don’t exit a trade at the profit target, the market may reverse on you and you could end up with a big loss.
