See You At Affiliate Summit West 2011

by Jeremy Schoemaker on January 6, 2011 · 65 comments

I can’t believe its already time.

I am pretty pumped.

Here are the main points of my schedule. I will skip over the dozen or so meetings I am doing.

Land saturday afternoon, get checked in at the Encore.

Saturday night there is a AVN award after party at Moon at the palms but depending on how comfortable I feel about my 2 hour presentation on Sunday I may or may not go.

Sunday I have a solo session from 11am to 1pm at the Monetization Summit (yes 2 hours).

This is a track geared for people new to the industry and Missy Ward asked me if I would talk about how I started, ways people can start generating income immediately, what results they can honestly expect and how to take it to another level. My talk is divided up into many sections focusing on various aspects of making money online.

I really enjoy doing these tracks a lot. I am in such a different place now then I was 7 years ago when I was getting started. But on the side I still get off on making small amounts (the amount really doesnt matter) in my free time dinking around with stuff in my spare time. For whatever reason I just love how you can generate income and invest nothing at all.

So really I am jealous of a lot of these “newbies”.

My journey has been an amazing experience and hopefully my talk will help people begin their journey.

But I am also going to be very realistic, from working with tens of thousands of people, about the long term success rates… or better yet the extremely high failure rates of people who attempt to make money on the internet as a full time gig.

Monday at 6pm we are launching a new product at the Affiliate Summit in the Mouton 1 room at the Wynn.

As many of you know years ago I sold a company called AuctionAds. In the sale agreement there was a non compete against me owning, operating, or investing in a advertising or affiliate network for 3 years. Those 3 years ran out last July and immediately I started on this new company.

This new product is amazing and it will change affiliate marketing as we know it. I know thats a huge statement to make but just ask any of the affiliate companies who have seen a demo…

But you will be able to AND you will get a free account for life by attending.

I guarantee you this will not be a boring product debut. We have some crazy stuff planned.

Tuesday morning we are doing the check presentation for the $5,000 we raised in our charity shirt auction. Congrats to keyword rock star on winning that!

Some Ad-hoc stuff we have:

Vinay – our winner is going to play $2,000.00 on 1 hand of black jack. Not really sure when we are going to do this. We will do our best to video tape it like last year (risking our lives and becoming criminals). Vinay said he would get a ShoeMoney logo tattoo if he won the trip… but supposedly he is already backing out of that. Will he do it? We will see!

It will be my first industry conference so I’m really looking forward to it. I’m sure it’s going to be a great learning experience.

Same here. I’m as pumped up as you are, Jeremy, but I just don’t have the dough to spend. Perhaps next year is my lucky one. Best wishes from the Windy City.

I was thinking of going but most of the sessions I want to attend are open to platinum and diamond pass holders only. A bit too pricey for me. Hopefully, next year I could finally sign-up.

Haven’t you heard about all the free passes that were given out by various affiliate marketing superstars?

Reply

Good luck with the session and product launch! I’ll be at the conference but I won’t be able to swing by any of the Monetize Summit sessions because mine’s a gold pass. I’d love to have a free account for life though. Any chance I could get a seat to Monday’s launch?

Reply

9 Richard Pascal January 6, 2011 at 5:05 pm

Is your product launch event on Monday open to everyone or just for your Monetization Summit session attendees?

Reply

10 Melanie Johnson January 6, 2011 at 5:25 pm

I thought you’re going to launch your product during your session. I hope the Monday launch is open to everyone at the summit.

I’m really pumped as well as someone who goes to the US for the first time (and it’s Vegas right away, yeah)! I live in the Netherlands (Europe), so it will be really interesting to see how your conferences are compared to EU conferences!

I’m staying at Encore as well, hopefully I’ll run into you some time so I can say hi!

Sounds like this year’s event is going to be even bigger and better than last year’s. Too bad I can’t make it this time. Don’t forget to post photos and highlights on what went down there!

I heard that the parties at Affiliate Summit are awesome. There’s a bunch of them lined-up but most of them are invites only though.

I am just so happy that I have a Platinum Pass to the upcoming ASW. Hope to maximize my time there and hobnob with my e-commerce idols.

A reasonable investment. Getting the best passes in conferences does have its perks. Good luck and have fun!

It’s time to make the short trip out of Los Angeles, through the desert, and into the magical oasis of Las Vegas for Affiliate Summit West. Love to share a few drinks with you, Shoe.

Me and my fiancée are coming to ASW and I really wanted to stay at the Wynn, but there are no rooms left at all. Got any connections we can tap, buddy? :(

Great choice of venue. Amazing rooms, great food, and excellent service are just some of the things that come to mind when I recall previous stays at the Wynn. An amazing Vegas experience!

My gold pass includes the following treats: admission to meet market, exhibit hall, keynotes, Sunday educational sessions (minus the Monetize Summit track); access to all recorded session videos; PowerPoint presentations; and Affiliate Summit Social Network. Does not include Monday and Tuesday sessions though.

Reply

24 Norman Nevelle January 6, 2011 at 5:51 pm

Not bad. Not everything you need to learn can be found in sessions anyway. The meet-ups are great opportunities to talk with people who can provide you with invaluable insights so that in itself is worth the price of the ticket.

For me, too. I used to attend as many conferences as I can in the past but now I try to limit the trips. I usually end up spending more on airfare, accommodation, etc. than I do on registration fees.

Hope Vinay doesn’t back out from getting that tattoo if he wins at blackjack. I read his entry for the contest and he did say he’d get one if he gets lucky at the table.

Reply

28 Laney Pitt January 6, 2011 at 6:00 pm

I hope he doesn’t get wasted and proceeds to have a tattoo on his forehead like that weirdo mom did for Golden Palace.

Reply

LOL I haven’t heard of the weirdo mom story but the “tattoo on the forehead” is hilarious.

I’m gonna be resting my head on custom pillow-top beds with 320-thread-count linens and stay plugged into the world with cordless phones. Averaging a whopping 650 square feet, my room’s going to provide spectacular views through wall-to-wall floor-to-ceiling windows. Sorry, Shoe. Just thinking about the sweet Wynn experience I’m go to have.

IMHO, the Encore is somewhat better than the Wynn. Suites are a bit bigger, the hotel is newer and nicer from what I’ve seen. The Wynn is awesome and the differences are small but I booked the Encore because I got a bigger suite for the same price.
