I accidental launched free SEO report last Thursday night….
Well it wasn’t me, but rather someone in our office who was adding the video code to my post, and instead of saving it accidentally hit the publish button.
Here I had this really awesomely coordinated plan to launch with a bunch of websites on Monday… and just like that IT’S RUINED!
We gave the office guy who launched it a lot of shit and asked if there was any one of our other projects he felt like launching…
But sometimes you need something like that to kick you in the ass and just do it! So there goes nothing!
But the real question… would Latvia’s pride and joy aka The Elk (as on his page), who we partnered with to program the back end, be up for the challenge?
After all, as you can imagine, there is a ton of intensive stuff going on under the hood and we knew the site would be bombarded with requests when we launched.
I just looked at our statistics and was pretty happy to see:
Confirmed users: 4507
Waiting for email confirmation: 180
Total number of reports: 13,298
Completed reports: 13,296
Avg processing time for reports: 4.1min
Hate letters from SEO’s that are now out of work: Too many to count
That’s right, we had ZERO issues. Every report that started finished successfully and the average time was almost right at 4 minutes. Wow…

I purchased this software a while back for my desktop that had some of the functionality but I had to enter all these API keys (which I could not even get one from Google anymore) and it lacked a lot of the detailed reporting and features that you guys have. We basically took the model of freecreditreport.com. We give you a full-featured, free, fully enabled, totally bad-ass report, and once we get you addicted to the crack, we charge $10 per report or unlimited reports for $19.95 a month.
Unlimited service? Really?

I loved the free report and signed up for the unlimited monthly account. I have already run a lot of reports and they look great but my questions is this; is it truly unlimited? Like I can honestly run as many as I want? Or is it like my Unlimited American Express Card which actually has a limit (in the fine print somewhere). I plan on running 50 reports a day and I am not sure if you have thought about this money wise because you can’t be profiting from me with all the resources this is taking up.
Yes Brady, it’s truly unlimited. As for our profitability, I think we will be ok. Obviously we are not trying to get rich from this service.
Sharing Accounts

I just purchased an account and wanted to know the rules for sharing accounts.
Nick, that is a really good question and one no doubt others will ask. Here is our official stance right now and what we have in place. If anything changes with this, we will let you know.
You can share your account as long as it comes from the same ip address within a reasonable amount of time. For instance, if your company or agency purchases an unlimited account to run for their clients, I am fine with that so long as THEY are the ones doing it from their office. If your friends want you to run reports for them, I am ok with that as long as YOU are the one running the reports.
We have in place a great system to alert us when an account is being shared and it’s actually pretty easy to tell. Any accounts found to be publicly shared will be terminated immediately.

Real SEO’s love products like this…by raising the visibility of SEO to your follower base, you will end up generating lots of business for SEO’s who can demonstrate that search marketing is far more involved than the metrics your report presents. The ones who can’t demonstrate any added value shouldn’t be in business anyway :.)
SEO puts some restrictions on web designs. For example, there are some limitations pertaining to the use of JavaScript, flash elements and so on.
Well do not use the javascript for content you want crawled. There are limitations everywhere so I just deal with it!
While I wait for my report I will leave a comment. What a genius idea. I know not your first. How many people with 100′s of domains are going to jump on this one. An instant SEO report of your blog/site.

I did had an issue. When I signed up, the report run and everything, but since it doesn’t identify itself properly with a user agent, it got blocked by my site.
So, I went and unblocked it, run the report once again, but since it was the second report, I couldn’t see anything unless I payed for the service…
Just to let you know…
Sorry chief… I guess we did not think people actually allow users to view their site based on user agent.
Limiting traffic to your site kind of seems counter productive to what we are trying to do….
Should we fake a real browser? or if we make a seo-report bot agent would that have made a difference? (serious questions)
IMHO, it should identify itself properly. I.E. Seo Report at http://www…etc...
You could also look at it from a “marketing” angle. As webmasters discover your user agent, they’ll be naturally curious and try to check out your report as well…
The reason we block empty user agents, is because usually bots (good or bad) are the ones who don’t usually identify themselves. Regular people and users don’t go monkey around with those settings…

Different search engines may have different criteria for page ranks. So, there is no one-size-fits-all treatment.
Seriously I don’t like the enter email part all this kind of sh*t slows me down from all your stuff because you always ask enter email bla bla bla, looks like you harvesting our emails and later spam with bullshit offers.
If you making REALY FREE SEO REPORT make it without any bullshit email forms, you can fool donks with triks like this one but you will never fool real PRO’s who will never use services like this one.
Also all this SEO stuff reports optimization bla bla bla is YEA useful stuff, but 99% people are lazy to do something to outrank competitors so they always FAIL and ask PRO’s like me WHY I can’t outrank my competitor and sh*t like that, now you showing them the reasons why they not rank but you don’t show the next step how to outrank them.

You either like the service or you don’t. Well, if you ask me, I absolutely LOVE it!
Depending on the competition and the niche, it takes time for websites to appear on search engines. Plus, there is no guarantee that your website will enjoy 100% conversion ratios.

Effective search engine optimization needs to be implemented painstakingly. It is a time consuming process. How is this service different, Jeremy?
this report shows me that I have a ton of work to do. The report was so detailed. What a great report!
I guess my comment was censored by Shoemoney’s regime.
Although I’m sure you can convince a lot of people, there’s is no way I would ever believe that you launched this accidentally.
The service was OK. I’ve seen similar analyses elsewhere and was expecting a little more depth and specificity regarding my domain name and keywords. The area where Shoemoney might have an advantage is in pricing.
I took the report out for a spin and was impressed. The report would definitely make SEO easier for people to digest due to the actions the reports suggest to improve your site.
Having the list of keywords to target was a nice touch at the end. After checking out the whole report I was able to come away with a list of several things I can do to improve my SEO so that was cool. Overall I would use the report again.
