Extendy is like a start menu for your website. It lets visitors share their favorite pages, search your content, view your latest tweets and blog posts, and connect with you across social networks.

Best of all, it is free, plus you can customize it to fit your needs.

Go to their site at www.extendy.com and enter a URL to see what it looks like!

If you would like to see your website or company featured on Free Shirt Friday, click here.

Not bad, looks like a clean toolbar :)

Forgive me, but I just find it kind of weird that Extendy doesn’t have its own Extendy toolbar on their own site.

Maybe cause it will be confusing since that is considered a sales page. Maybe they should have a demo page. That’ll be better

That’s a great shirt!

Aww. Cute giraffe with those big eyes.

Someone did a really nice job branding the site. Great logo, and the site looks great.

I love the fact that you can choose your themes and continue to make customizations. Thanks for the heads up, Jeremy! (Cool shirt, too, by the way.)

Methinks Extendy should “extendy” their services to making cute shirt designs for kids.

Actually, judging by the logo, these guys look like they’re working with a really talented graphic designer.

Haha good one, Wandering Mommy! LOL

It might, especially once they open up that API to developers.

Let’s hope someone comes up with a Google Analytics integration for Extendy. I’ll buy in to that.

14 AnnieP78 October 8, 2010 at 11:23 pm

And a White Label option for selling it to “more serious” clients.

According to the official rep, there are 5 types of plugins that can be built:

1. Search (i.e. Lijit; Google Co-Op)
2. Menu (i.e. share menu, which could then launch an iframe for twitter, etc.)
3. Button
4. Iframe (via menu or button) [i.e. bit.ly]
5. Hidden (i.e. Google Analytics; SmartLinks)

They have a demo feature you can try out on Extendy. :)

Just tried it for my blog. Not sure what happened. Am I missing something?

Go check out the bottom of your page/screen. See the toolbar? It’s for social sharing. No need to leave the page, no need for popup windows or tabs. :)

Thanks, man! I wasn’t sure where to look, too.

Just demoed Extendy on my site. Looks good, and it doesn’t intrude on the visuals.

Sweet. Actually if you look at their About Us button, their founders have these cute giraffe-related titles, too.

Yeah, haha. I noticed that too. “Chief giraffe” and “grunt giraffe”.

Actually it’s worth your while. If you’re blogging and you just published a new post, it’s going to be easy to update, say, your Facebook wall and Twitter. And that’s without having to install a plugin.

28 Robin Sterling October 8, 2010 at 11:30 pm

It’s not just Facebook and Twitter, though. It also works for YouTube, MySpace, Digg, Ning, Meebo, Socialthing, Google Friend Connect, etc. I think it’s pretty useful, so I don’t understand why not a lot of people are using it.

29 BearPile October 8, 2010 at 7:34 pm

I would keep that one!

That giraffe is awfully glassy eyed. What’s up giraffe?

Reply

32 TomYoon October 8, 2010 at 9:55 pm

The glassy eyes add to the cuteness factor. And at least it’s cheerful-looking. :)

So wait. To get featured in these weekly posts, all I have to do is to send Jeremy a free shirt? Sounds like a great x-deal to me.

34 Yes2Freebies October 8, 2010 at 10:56 pm

Yup. If you click on the link at the end of the post, you’ll see all the details and the address where you can send the shirt to.

Cool giraffe! Do they sell t-shirt online?

Reply

44 Twittbull October 12, 2010 at 9:24 am

hmmm..maybe they should put a text below the logo so people know what it is when you’re wearing them.

Reply

45 David R October 13, 2010 at 12:19 am

It’s simpler if you use a toolbar to integrate whatever social networking links, feeds, and search bar you have on your website.

Reply

46 Michael October 31, 2010 at 3:20 pm

Whoever created that logo kicks butt! But I agree, I would add some text to the logo so people know what it is.
