After opening up registration to the general public yesterday, the event sold out in only a couple hours. I have been in Denver so it wasn’t until I checked stats this morning I saw we were sold out!
Geez, I didn’t even get to announce the sponsors yet!
BTW, we still have a few sponsorship spots available. If interested, contact tigh at shoemoney.com
Looking forward to working with you guys in San Fran. It’s going to be the best event yet!

Kablam! First to comment, first to extend my regards to all Shoemoney fans out there who weren’t able to get a spot for this year’s Retreat. 2011 is rolling pretty near and we’d still have ample time to prepare. Miami, represent!
I hope they bring ER again in NYC next year.
I’m really hoping Shoe would choose Texas as his next venue for the Elite Retreat. Apart from the fact that I live in Aransas Pass, we also have spectacular hotels and accommodations that rival their city-slicker counterparts. How about it, Jeremy? Texas for 2011?
How about choosing San Francisco next, Shoe?
Again? But they’ve done ER in SF quite a few times already. Why not schedule the next one in Las Vegas? That should be fun.
Maybe that’s where (or near where) most of the attendees are from.
That’s the shortest registration period I’ve ever heard of.
3 days. It took Shoe just 3 days to dispose of all 30 available spots. Simple awesome.
That’s Shoe for you. Right, buddy?
Nice one! Looking forward to more updates in the coming days.
That’s what I expected right from the start, Shoe. Oh, well. There’s still next year’s ER and a lot more events to keep an eye on. By the way, I’d really love to participate in the next Humongo Nation tour. Can you provide details when and where to sign up if necessary? Thanks in advance.
No hard feelings, though. good luck to all ER7 participants! Don’t forget to post pictures in your upcoming articles, buddy.
Although I believe that one must spend money to make money, 5 big ones are just too tough on the budget. Any possibility we can have a much cruder ER counterpart next year, Jeremy? Please do share your ideas on this.
I found some random articles and reviews written by previous attendees. It would be nice if they could share the links through your blog. I’m just curious as to what they have to say about ER.
It is unreal. I have been two times. The caliber of the attendees and the speakers are phenomenal. The size of the event allows everyone to really get to know each other. I bet that many of the attendees along with myself would consider it a very pivotal point in our development and success.
Is there a discount for previous attendees?
Awesome! I would have been the first one to sign up if I could afford the entry fee. Any chance you can organize a much cheaper version of ER?
Well, ER’s unique selling point has always been its exclusivity and the one-on-one sessions. I think if you take away those, you’ll scale down the cost. Unfortunately, you would also lose the chance for some more insightful discussions with industry thought leaders.
Good point. I’ll make it a goal to attend ER by next year.
I think tweaking the number of participants relative to the number of speakers can be a probable solution to the cost issue. How about adjusting the participants to 40, then slashing the number of speakers to 4 or 5? What’s your two cents’ worth on this, Shoe?
Sounds good.
Great pointers. I think the idea here is to minimize number of speakers, maximize number of attendees and still come up with figures that gives the most opportunities for expanded one-on-one learning. Although this would be quite a puzzle for now, leave it to Shoe to make things better. Keep up the good work.
it’s not exactly something that regular web marketers could afford. but if i had the money i wouldn’t hesitate to invest it by attending the conference.
Certainly not the type of conference a newbie Internet marketer could afford. But I really want to go at some point in the near future. I better start saving up.
How about offering something for newbies? It would be great to learn the ropes from marketing gurus.
Not the type of event for newbies. Why not try the ShoeMoney System first then go for an ER pass once you start making money.
Sounds like a good plan to me.
Wow! This is such a nostalgic experience. Last year’s ER sold out in a couple of days, too. You’re really the best there is, Jeremy. Hope you can publish a re-echo post about the Retreat. Kudos from San Antonio.
So excited to take my web marketing know-how to an even higher level this December. See you at the Clift, Jeremy. (So excited to see Mike Sprouse. He’s really cute.)
As I said yesterday, this is going to be a Glenn Frey moment for some of us. That groovy saxophone silhouette outro sure makes me bust some moves.
That ditty sure makes me feel sexy all the time. Just where can you get a free copy of the song? It doesn’t hurt to download just once, does it? Seriously, those who got a spot this year are truly on their way to the big leagues.
I’ll just wait for the recap then.
Perdon, senor, is there a possibility that you can target beginners like us in the next installment of the ER franchise? People in my category can be easily described: with minimal or no experience in web marketing at all and struggling to make it big. There. Now when do we start?
Great suggestion. I think a lot of us Shoemoney fans are clamoring to get a slice of the web marketing gems from the Elite Retreat with 2k or so slashed off the fee. I’d love to hear what you think on this, Jeremy.
Is there any way we can access recordings of the speakers’ presentations? Some conference organizers sell videos of presentations so I was wondering if you do that too.
I don’t think they do that.
Shoe, don’t you think the 5K price tag is a bit costly even for serious web marketing enthusiasts?
It’s just a matter of what priorities to go for in your web marketing career. When you feel it’s time to take it up a notch, grab the opportunity to become an ER attendee.
I think there’s a cycle here. You invest 5k. In turn, you will learn how to earn the amount faster. By the way, the SBA program you posted last week is just a blessing. Got a loan to get my online pastry shop off the ground and I am definitely going to next year’s Retreat. I am just so excited right now.
If you’re serious about taking your business to the next level then you could think of it as a good investment.
I’m serious but that doesn’t mean I can just go and buy a conference pass. I don’t think I’m qualified…yet.
Me neither but I’m working on changing that.
If you consider the fact that you could walk away with more savvy to earn $5-10K a month then, yeah, it might just be worth it.
That’s true. The potential ROI could more than make up for money spent buying a very pricey pass.
Not exactly a guarantee. You’ll have the know-how but it’s up to you how you use it to take your business from good to great.
Congratulations! The speakers’ line-up is awesome. I’m sure it’s going to be another successful ER. Kudos to you and your team!
I knew right from the start that ER7 spots will be gone in a day or two. Congratulations to all successful participants. Kindly share your expertise in the near future.
They may not be able share salient points from the conference though if they’re ask to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Nothing is a secret when I whip out my bottle of Grey Goose and some cola to chase it off…
How about whipping it out in an hour since we’ll be having a party at Tina’s in an hour? Don’t forget to make guacamole, too, alright? The chips are on me.
Mission accomplished, General Shoe! Keep up the good work.
ER FTW!
What’s usually your criteria when screening registrants?
Although I am a serious web marketing aficionado, I still don’t have the finances to join such a cool happening, Shoe. I guess next year’s mighty promising for me. Keep your fingers crossed, brother. L.A.tinos in the casa!
I would definitely have registered if it was more affordable.
Word up. I guess what holds back other eager beavers is the price tag. Hope you could get us tenderfoots a chance next year, Shoe. How about using Mid-Elite Retreat as the working title? I think it’s catchy.
I do agree. That is quite a catchy title. How about it, Shoe?
The speakers line-up is incredible! Maybe I can find the time to go next year. Are you coming to Blog World Shoe?
If I didn’t know better, I wouldn’t have believed that an ER pass cost almost 5 grand. I’ve never heard of a conference ticket that sold out that fast.
Crazy, huh?
Impressive! I would love to go. Perhaps I will in one of your future ERs.
You rock! Let’s see what the haters have to say about that fast sellout.
So you saw the vid? That was hilarious!
Elite Retreat is just like going to a holiday at St. Tropez with your favorite centerfold models only in a web-based venture setting. Must be all the Victoria’s Secret catalogs I am reading, Shoe. Good luck to all of you and may this event mold more and more Internet marketing heroes. Shout outs from Tulsa.
I’d definitely give an arm and leg for a one-on-one time with Adriana Lima. Whoops! Just thinking aloud, Shoe. Boring shift here and you know what goes on in the mind of a red-blooded man when he’s in a deep state of ennui. ROFL.
Great to hear that! Good luck to those who are going!
You’ve done yet another successful installment of your much sought-after Retreat. Best wishes to everyone who attends (and just don’t forget to post the pictures where the Bunnies surprise you with a dance number). Just tag it NSFW so I won’t be surprised by my boss who usually checks in on me during breaks.
I didn’t know there were still a lot of the Playboy Mansion party pics I haven’t browsed. Thanks for the heads up!
Cool! Do you have any other events in the works now?
Sweet! Let the fun begin!
Shoe, what does the post-Retreat program have in store for participants? Does it include realigning of goals? Do participants and speakers meet regularly for coaching sessions? Thanks in advance.
We have weekly mastermind calls and even quarterly alumni only meetups. I also follow up with attendees to see where they are at with what we discussed.
I’m not qualified so I didn’t sign up. Hopefully I can attend the next one.
I just want to extend my sincerest congratulations to the Elite Retreat 7 participants. Best wishes to all and don’t forget to have a guest post in the Shoemoney Blog if it’s alright with Jeremy. Speaking of guest posts, where’s Jeff’s article on affiliate marketing tactics?
Does this mean you’re not giving away a free ticket anymore? I was looking forward to joining a contest or raffle.
Such a stellar group of speakers. I’m sure it’ll be a great experience to be part of that.
I learned a lot about writing a copy just be reading John Carlton’s blog posts. Listening to him alone would be worth it. Too bad I’m not going. Hope you can invite him and Seth Godin again in a foreseeable future.
Epic! Congratulations!
Shoe, I am just wondering why there are a lot of people cashing in on the Elite Retreat tag. Google them and you’ll discover a lot of un-Shoemoney related sites. Must be a black hat tactic? What say you?
Shoe, hope you can schedule next year’s event here in Denver. There a lot of swanky hotels you can choose from and you’ll never be disappointed with the views and munchies.
There’s still a screening process, right? What happens to the slots of those who may not “qualify”? Is there a wait list?
Travel budget’s a bit tight. Any plans of bringing ER here in Illinois?
It must be full of fun but I just have a tight budget now. Hope they will bring it nearer.lol
What does ER stand for?
i am super excited…i got one of the spots. hope to see some of you at ER7!
So much for making money promoting the Elite Retreat. Glad to see the success.
I really like that matter, What i am to web marketing/SEO. Have you ever heard using meetup.com? I find we now have regularly many better odds to meet and netwoork web-sites there. You must test it out when you get yourself a time.
I’m sure
