ER – 7 Sold Out!

by Jeremy Schoemaker on September 29, 2010 · 88 comments

After opening up registration to the general public yesterday, the event sold out in only a couple hours. I have been in Denver so it wasn’t until I checked stats this morning I saw we were sold out!

Geez, I didn’t even get to announce the sponsors yet!

BTW, we still have a few sponsorship spots available.  If interested, contact tigh at shoemoney.com

Looking forward to working with you guys in San Fran. It’s going to be the best event yet!

Kablam! First to comment, first to extend my regards to all Shoemoney fans out there who weren’t able to get a spot for this year’s Retreat. 2011 is rolling pretty near and we’d still have ample time to prepare. Miami, represent!

I hope they bring ER again in NYC next year.

I’m really hoping Shoe would choose Texas as his next venue for the Elite Retreat. Apart from the fact that I live in Aransas Pass, we also have spectacular hotels and accommodations that rival their city-slicker counterparts. How about it, Jeremy? Texas for 2011?

Reply

4 internetFTW September 29, 2010 at 7:34 pm

How about choosing San Francisco next, Shoe?

5 WhateverWorks September 29, 2010 at 8:12 pm

Again? But they’ve done ER in SF quite a few times already. Why not schedule the next one in Las Vegas? That should be fun.

Reply

6 E. Langdon September 30, 2010 at 9:45 pm

Maybe that’s where (or near where) most of the attendees are from.

7 socialanim00 September 29, 2010 at 7:08 pm

That’s the shortest registration period I’ve ever heard of.

Reply

8 AL0101 September 29, 2010 at 7:25 pm

3 days. It took Shoe just 3 days to dispose of all 30 available spots. Simple awesome.

9 WhoSaysWhat01 September 29, 2010 at 7:39 pm

That’s Shoe for you. Right, buddy?

Nice one! Looking forward to more updates in the coming days.

That’s what I expected right from the start, Shoe. Oh, well. There’s still next year’s ER and a lot more events to keep an eye on. By the way, I’d really love to participate in the next Humongo Nation tour. Can you provide details when and where to sign up if necessary? Thanks in advance.

12 FirenzeZ September 29, 2010 at 7:18 pm

No hard feelings, though. good luck to all ER7 participants! Don’t forget to post pictures in your upcoming articles, buddy.

Although I believe that one must spend money to make money, 5 big ones are just too tough on the budget. Any possibility we can have a much cruder ER counterpart next year, Jeremy? Please do share your ideas on this.

Reply

14 EllaineR September 29, 2010 at 8:39 pm

I found some random articles and reviews written by previous attendees. It would be nice if they could share the links through your blog. I’m just curious as to what they have to say about ER.

Reply

15 purposeinc September 30, 2010 at 3:45 am

It is unreal. I have been two times. The caliber of the attendees and the speakers are phenomenal. The size of the event allows everyone to really get to know each other. I bet that many of the attendees along with myself would consider it a very pivotal point in our development and success.

Reply

16 thoushallpass September 30, 2010 at 7:31 pm

Is there a discount for previous attendees?

Reply

17 Andrew Says So September 29, 2010 at 7:33 pm

Awesome! I would have been the first one to sign up if I could afford the entry fee. Any chance you can organize a much cheaper version of ER?

Reply

18 Bryan Jake T September 29, 2010 at 7:54 pm

Well, ER’s unique selling point has always been its exclusivity and the one-on-one sessions. I think if you take away those, you’ll scale down the cost. Unfortunately, you would also lose the chance for some more insightful discussions with industry thought leaders.

Reply

19 melg September 29, 2010 at 8:21 pm

Good point. I’ll make it a goal to attend ER by next year.

Reply

20 ExclaimedIdeas September 29, 2010 at 8:24 pm

I think tweaking the number of participants relative to the number of speakers can be a probable solution to the cost issue. How about adjusting the participants to 40, then slashing the number of speakers to 4 or 5? What’s your two cents’ worth on this, Shoe?

Reply

21 smstudent September 29, 2010 at 8:40 pm

Sounds good.

Reply

22 Tammyexperiments September 29, 2010 at 9:21 pm

Great pointers. I think the idea here is to minimize number of speakers, maximize number of attendees and still come up with figures that gives the most opportunities for expanded one-on-one learning. Although this would be quite a puzzle for now, leave it to Shoe to make things better. Keep up the good work.

23 georgeblanco September 29, 2010 at 8:34 pm

it’s not exactly something that regular web marketers could afford. but if i had the money i wouldn’t hesitate to invest it by attending the conference.

Reply

24 California Dreamin September 29, 2010 at 8:50 pm

Certainly not the type of conference a newbie Internet marketer could afford. But I really want to go at some point in the near future. I better start saving up.

Reply

25 NicMoon September 30, 2010 at 7:09 pm

How about offering something for newbies? It would be great to learn the ropes from marketing gurus.

Reply

26 SmallBiz Sue September 30, 2010 at 8:14 pm

Not the type of event for newbies. Why not try the ShoeMoney System first then go for an ER pass once you start making money.

Reply

27 BearPile September 30, 2010 at 9:00 pm

Sounds like a good plan to me.

Wow! This is such a nostalgic experience. Last year’s ER sold out in a couple of days, too. You’re really the best there is, Jeremy. Hope you can publish a re-echo post about the Retreat. Kudos from San Antonio.

So excited to take my web marketing know-how to an even higher level this December. See you at the Clift, Jeremy. (So excited to see Mike Sprouse. He’s really cute.)

As I said yesterday, this is going to be a Glenn Frey moment for some of us. That groovy saxophone silhouette outro sure makes me bust some moves.

That ditty sure makes me feel sexy all the time. Just where can you get a free copy of the song? It doesn’t hurt to download just once, does it? Seriously, those who got a spot this year are truly on their way to the big leagues.

33 floresparati September 29, 2010 at 8:49 pm

Perdon, senor, is there a possibility that you can target beginners like us in the next installment of the ER franchise? People in my category can be easily described: with minimal or no experience in web marketing at all and struggling to make it big. There. Now when do we start? :)

Reply

34 Manisha Sithembile September 30, 2010 at 8:20 pm

Great suggestion. I think a lot of us Shoemoney fans are clamoring to get a slice of the web marketing gems from the Elite Retreat with 2k or so slashed off the fee. I’d love to hear what you think on this, Jeremy.

Reply

35 Marnie Sho September 29, 2010 at 8:07 pm

Is there any way we can access recordings of the speakers’ presentations? Some conference organizers sell videos of presentations so I was wondering if you do that too.

Reply

36 Mark Mead September 29, 2010 at 8:53 pm

I don’t think they do that.

Reply

37 MVZP_01 September 29, 2010 at 8:12 pm

Shoe, don’t you think the 5K price tag is a bit costly even for serious web marketing enthusiasts?

Reply

38 Laney Pitt September 29, 2010 at 9:04 pm

It’s just a matter of what priorities to go for in your web marketing career. When you feel it’s time to take it up a notch, grab the opportunity to become an ER attendee.

Reply

39 Almira Keefe September 30, 2010 at 8:16 pm

I think there’s a cycle here. You invest 5k. In turn, you will learn how to earn the amount faster. By the way, the SBA program you posted last week is just a blessing. Got a loan to get my online pastry shop off the ground and I am definitely going to next year’s Retreat. I am just so excited right now.

If you consider the fact that you could walk away with more savvy to earn $5-10K a month then, yeah, it might just be worth it.

Reply

44 Lola Dee September 30, 2010 at 7:53 pm

That’s true. The potential ROI could more than make up for money spent buying a very pricey pass.
