I actually really like this one, And there site is pretty cool too! Thanks shhoemoney!
Is that their summer tour shirt? Not bad!
Any chance I can get one too? On another note, when’s the next post on the rewards schemes you started last week?
Nice shirt…..:D
嘿嘿不错很久没来了
You look like real hustlers.
All young and full of energy.
It looks like your on your way to a huge success.
Good luck.
Don’t change.
Cool shirt! How can I get one?
I’d love to give one to my husband. Hook me up, Jeremy!
I love that color! It suits you, Jeremy!
He does look like he’d lost a little weight. Or maybe it was the shirt. I agree with you, the shirt looks nice on him.
One of his better photos!
Badass shirt.
Sweet! Your closet must be bursting at the seams with all that free shirts! This one looks good on you!
Is it just me or he’s actually looking buff in that shirt? One of the really good ones he’s had so far.
I heard he donates them to charity. Is that true, Jeremy?
Great site! Pretty much interesting stuff going on there.
Having a roadtrip with the coolest people and companies such as Wingate by Wyndham, Paul Deen Enterprises, NASCAR and the whole Miami Heat ensemble is such an epic way to gain social media exposure. I think I’ve found my new favorite way to gain social media footing. Two thumbs up!
I like their site. This one’s a nice read –> http://blog.humongonation.com/2010/07/how-anthropology-can-help-your-brand.html
Thumbs up for this shirt. The colors played well together.
Finally! Digital creativity have just become a hundred times cooler with Humongo. (Is there going to be raffle for free T-shirts? They certainly look awesome.)
I think we’re the same size! And I’m sure I have more closet space than yours. I’d gladly keep that shirt for you! LOL!
Showcasing creativity and innovation, now that seems like a fascinating idea. I hope they pass through our city in their future tours.
I’ve read about Humongo a couple of months ago while browsing for fresh social media exposure strategies. I never knew hooking up a flex camera to a van will turn out to be one of the greatest social media breakthroughs ever. Keep up the great stuff rolling. Best wishes from Atlanta.
I skimmed some of the site’s blog entries. There are several takeaways from those tours that I’m glad they shared. I can’t way to go through the other posts.
Shirt looks a bit tight on you. But not that much so I guess it’s okay.
Fits him just fine the way I see it.
I wouldn’t have noticed it if you didn’t point it out. Yeah, the shirt looks a bit small for him. But that’s a lot of improvement from those shirts that were a few sizes too large he got before.
What do you do will all the shirts you get? There must be a lot of them by now!
You should raffle off that shirt. Seems to me there are many of us here who want one.
Great concept! It’s the first time I heard of them but I’ll now try to follow their blog too. I think there’s a lot of creative insights to be found there.
Awesome site! I’m loving the food blog!
I like the idea of building an attraction engine. The challenge there is how to create one that would truly highlight the brand. (http://adage.com/smallagency/post?article_id=138053)
You can instantly see why they call themselves a “rolling celebration of creativity and a demonstration of social media in action” the moment you arrive on the Humongo homepage. Small is the new big and I have just become a fan. Terrific shirt, too.
I was about to comment on the shirt when I got distracted by this – http://www.shoemoney.com/gallery/Thinktank2009/IMG_5077.jpg/ – Are you into mixed martial arts?
Small is the new great! I’m glad I stumbled into their site. Huge thanks to Free Shirt Friday!
They’ve been in Portland, Maine and the most recent tour will include stops in Boston, Washington, Miami and a slew of other cities. That is sure a lot of places to visit! By the way, is it just me or is the idea of having a tailgate party too epic for now?
Looks like a fab bunch of talented creatives in that group. I totally dig their site!
Humongo has set new standards for social media marketing by taking the action literally on the road. Breaking the rules — on obligatory social media tactics that is — has never been this fun before. Why forever stay focusing your efforts on Facebook and Twitter when you can hop on a Ford Flex and get the party started?
Isn’t it great that you have a bunch of people doing that? I’d say that they certainly are making good on that promise of celebrating creativity.
They are also hooked up to live GPS so that you can view where they are on a map at all times! AWESOME.
Sharing creative perspectives from different brands. How cool is that!
I really love this Free Shirt Friday thing. Was a fantastic idea.
You’re looking great! The less-goofy-more-serious-yet-relaxed look works on you.
Sweet post, sweet shirt!
He looks like he’s just about ready to take a road trip with the Humongo Nation team.
Humongo Nation is a real one of a kind digital creative agency without the bureaucracy of the big guys — but with all of the coolest talent in the universe. Not too bad to check out on your next social media adventure, eh?
When so many agencies are talking (and only talking) big about social, Humongo has taken a decidedly different approach by putting their media where their mouths are. Isn’t this the best social media initiative or what? Shoe, I think it would be great if you could showcase upcoming versions of the Shoemoney System using their rolling platform.
It proves that it pays to try a different way of doing things even if it appears just about anything that can be done has been done already. Tapping into wealth of creativity can really churn out amazing outcomes.
Goes to show social media work best if you have great content to begin with. That is what Humongo Nation seemed to have accomplished, making their inspired initiative optimize available social media platforms.
That tour dashboard looks neat! Very easy on the eyes, not to mention the interesting stuff going on there.
Now this is one way to take social media and web marketing to a whole new higher level while having a great deal of fun. Come to think of it, why spend most of your time improvising tweets and status messages when you can do it the Humongo Nation way?
Question of the day: Who else wants to go on a roadtrip right now?
You can count me in!
Why go through tons and tons of boring social media-related stuff when you can live the life with Humongo? Empowering beginner web marketers has never been this fun!
Humongo Nation is a project of Humongo, formerly known as Plaid. This marks the 4th year they’ve loaded up a van and done a 2-week stretch through a slice of America. This year, it’s a Portland, Maine-Miami route, where they’re seeing marketing folks, agency folks, and other good peeps along the way. Do check them out!
Throughout their travels the Humongo Nation team will be utilizing all available social media avenues to document their trip, the people they meet, and even the food they eat! Social media gone gonzo. Keep up the good work!
Making best use of social media and traditional F2F engagement through their tours is a good strategy. Sure shows that being creative means finding novel ways to approach existing strategies.
I just followed them on Twitter so I’ll have a fairly good idea on where they’re headed next. I’m interested on how their meet-ups with other creative/marketing/brand workers go.
Made me think of going on a road trip. It’s been ages since I’ve been one. Now, if I could only turn future road trips to something as engaging as theirs.
Traveling is definitely my favorite way to de-stress and Humongo Nation has just given me a whole new concept of how to take my tenderfoot web marketing career up a notch without the fuss.
Humungo Nation’s Ford Flex is just awesome. Have you seen the cameras on that thing? You can check out the other specs here: http://kdf-comp.blogspot.com/2010/07/kdf-wraps-humongo-nation.html
I am so looking forward to read more posts on Humungo Nation!
Dibs on the first free Humongo Nation shirt! (And it’s spelled HUMONGO, sister!) ROFL
This is just one of the best social marketing ideas that came out of the web marketing scene. What’s a nicer way to top off a social media campaign than a roadtrip with people you’ve always wanted to hobnob with?
I was lucky to meet up with Matt, Kristien, Darryl, Renato and RJ from Humongo Nation 2010 a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t remember a single time when slogging through Southern thunderstorms just to get to Atlanta has been that fun.
Can you ask Darry Ohrt if I can join the next Humongo Nation trip, Shoe? I’d love to join the bandwagon and have a drink or two with Paul Deen.
I juts love how Humongo Nation stresses the concept that small is the new big. It’s really quite inspiring for all of us newbies who want to make a mark in the web marketing playing field. Thanks a lot, Jeremy. This is just one of the hundreds of reasons why I am a loyal fan of yours.
The Humongo Agency embarks on a nation wide social media tour annually stopping over at some of the most creative places and visiting some of the most creative people in the United States. If that doesn’t gets you hyped up then you still have a lot of things to learn about social media. LMAO
Last year the Plaid Nation took the road and stopped over at the Threadless headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. Since then, the ad agency formerly known as Plaid, The Greatest Agency in all the land was renamed to Humongo — and may have had reinvented the whole social media roadshow once again!
You can follow them on Twitter and check out their tour website to see videos, read their tour (and food) blogs, and see what it’s all about. It sure beats most agencies’ self-promotion efforts.
Looks like they’re doing some sort of immersion with several creative brands out there. What a great idea! I think that their way of “celebrating creativity and innovation” using social media provides a lot of people an opportunity to learn from the best. Kudos, Humongo Nation!
Ford, Wingate Hotels, Sprint and Green Mountain Coffee are just some of the Humongo Nation sponsors. Keep up the great job, guys. Greetings from Manhattan.
The shirt does compliment the digital creative agency’s out-of-this-world coolness. Great job, guys!
Just got my sweet, clean t-shirt in the mail this morning, complete with an air freshener that smells like a candy I can’t quite put my finger on. Have fun boys and girls! Just can’t wait to participate in the NYC leg.
Super shirt design. 5 stars! (Got anything in size 6?)
Free Shirt Friday FTW!
Dark shirts are cool. I like this one!
I also had the privilege of owning a Humongo shirt recently and I think it smelled a bit like bubble gum. This is absolutely a plus for me since I love social media and my girlfriend loves bubble gum. A perfect match, eh?
Free Shirt Friday is not all about the shirts, though some of them really look good. It also has the side benefit of pointing us to very interesting companies who get to do the coolest stuff.
Hope to catch a ride with Darryl in the next few days. Nice coverage by the KDF on the Maine leg.
The Humongo Ford Flex is perhaps the best thing that’s ever happened to mobile social media marketing. No further explanation necessary.
The best thing about the tour is they’ll be sharing what they learn with marketing, brand and creative people from around the world. Isn’t that what social media is all about? Got anything to add here, buddy?
Kristien from the Humongo Nation team is just stunning. I could drive for days on end with that woman beside me. <3
Darryl posted on his blog that publicity from the tour has helped his agency gain a higher profile, leading to some new clients and an acquisition by Source Marketing, an MDC company. So it’s both business and fun, with a large dose of connectivity. I say driving around the country in a jazzed up Ford Flex for social media marketing is a darn good idea!
I’ve snapped a few images of the Ford Flex they’re using when they had it in for a routine maintenance at the Fifth. Check them out right here: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_uTI9Tpb1woY/TFBjkM9I-oI/AAAAAAAAAaY/GoiEbu8Ft_M/s1600/humongo3.jpg and http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_uTI9Tpb1woY/TFBjTzNGpqI/AAAAAAAAAaI/KuxffTla3DQ/s1600/Humongowrap1.jpg
How come most Humongo destinations are in the east coast?
谢谢你啊~写的真好~
Got this from a friend of mine who helped set up the amazing Humungo Nation vehicle. This is just too cool to miss! http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_uTI9Tpb1woY/TFBjb5JECzI/AAAAAAAAAaQ/l09CTsbx9ts/s1600/humongo2.jpg
Lovely ride! They could probably use that design on their shirt too.
I never knew social media promotion can be as cool as this. Best wishes from NYC.
I’ve always thought that the arrival of social media and microblogging marks a defining era in how we see the web as a multi-platform vehicle for creativity and innovation. Then Humongo Nation comes along and basically takes the whole thing to a whole new higher level in a snap. I’ll definitely keep my eyes peeled when they get to drive around our place in Daytona Beach.
No matter how many Facebook likes and Foursquare finds you’ve got, this stuff right here is still king. I completely agree that Humongo has taken the whole social media movement up a notch.
As in past years, the whole Humongo Tour will be streamed live from a pair of in-car video cameras, live tweeted and blogged. New for this year, you can also track the tour’s progress as the crew checks in on Foursquare along the way. That Ford Flex is quite a beauty, too!
Humongo Nation had me at the very mention of driving around and meeting cool people. And having Kristien on board is absolutely a plus. Have you seen her? She’s like Salma Hayek and Kim Kardashian rolled into one smooth package…
That’s a smart design. I like that one.
Are they giving away free shirts? I’d like to have one.
that T-shirt look so fungky, how i can get one too? GO humogo nation
I don’t think so. The design’s not as good as you would expect from a bunch of creative individuals.
Seems like their shirts could be a little cooler for a design company.
I think it’s this year’s Humongo Nation official shirt, hence the design. I’m sure they’d be able to come up with more creative designs for their shirts.
What other fantastic brands, companies or people in the existing web markets are worthy of a profile on Humongo Nation? I need a couple of understudies so I can get in the tour list next year.
Very energetic site. Looks like fun!
Hi, I really like that T-shirt. It is not just the name, the logo, but the creative idea…it has a spark of energy with it.
Do I get a shirt if I do this to my old man? http://blog.humongonation.com/2010/08/humongo-nation-bringing-families.html
How do you choose which shirt to feature every Friday? I bet you receive several shirts in a week.
It’s the first time I’d heard of them. Thanks for the post! I enjoyed checking out their site.
Now that’s one statement on their shirt that I think they could back up. Humongo Nation is impressive.
While so many creative agencies are talking big about making a mark in the whole social media business, Humongo has taken an absolutely different approach by putting their media where their mouths are.
I’ll use that same color on the shirt I’m currently designing. The shirt’s nice, by the way.
Hope to catch the Savannah leg of the Humongo Nation tour here in Georgia. Caught a glimpse of that cool Ford Flex they’re using to drive around a while back in Portland and that thing is just sweet. Kudos for the tip-off, Shoe.
Here’s the complete tour list: Portland, ME
Boston, MA
New York, NY
Washington, DC
Raleigh, NC
Asheville, NC
Atlanta, GA
Savannah, GA
Daytona Beach, FL
Miami, FL
Noticed that you always had a white shirt on underneath the free shirts. Why is that?
Insightful tour blogs. Bringing creativity to the next level.
Looking forward to this Friday’s featured shirt!
Do you want to attract attention and demonstrate that you’ve got the social media chops to stand apart from the pack and still have the time of your life? Jeremy’s got it all listed right here, baby!
I’m now a fan. Nice post!
I am a tenderfoot web marketer trying to raise my online clothing boutique off the ground for the past three weeks. Is it possible if the Humongo Nation team can schedule a quick stopover here in Raleigh and show me a trick or two?
Why not just monitor the Humongo blog regularly? I am sure you’ll get the freshest social media 411 there.
Most of the shirts you feature in your t-shirt Fridays are really cool. Setting FSF up was a clearly a good idea.
Do people pay to be on the Humongo list? I sure hope the social media adventure they are embarking on is a free platform where even the little guys can participate freely.
Humongo has created a proof-is-in-the-pudding showcase of the current batch of social media technologies, a demonstration of its own chops at putting the tools to work in compelling and relevant ways, and a non-traditional forum for earning the attention of not only raving geek fans (yes, they’re out there and they’ve got the t-shirts to prove it) but also innovative companies that might be interested in securing the services of a shop.
They’ve announced their route for 2010, and they’re stoked to be returning to the east coast, where the tour got it’s start four years ago. It will kick off in Maine, and driving the sweetest Ford Flex that you’ve ever laid your eyes on all the way down to Miami.
Glad to know social media is reaching new heights these days! Keep the great stuff rolling, Humongo Nation!
This may sound out of line but don’t you think Humongo is the real-life counterpart of Facebook?
I do hope there’s enough space for me on next year’s tour.
Can I drive the Flex next year, Darryl?
Very good T-shirt Jeremy really. Nice and funny, mostly the name of course.
Get a tit reduction fatass!
Thank you very much for this good article.
Cool shirt!
Wow, can’t go wrong with free t-shirts! The website was also pretty cool aswell.
Thanks for sharing Jeremy.
Just reading through their blog. Some good stuff.
