Nice meeting you at AffCon. (We met for like 2 seconds after your talk.) Cool to see the talk twice – once in person and a second time here.
P.S. – I actually liked this better than Aff summit, believe it or not!
This is amazing Shoemoney. Thanks for sharing this. Part of me wants to be nice to the other readers and add some bullets on what the talk is about. But since some of them are competing with me for the Gallardo, I suppose I won’t be so nice.
The readers will have to take the time to watch the video themselves.
I will say that your comments and questions on cloaking were awesome. Thanks a ton.
congrats on the great keynote, congrats on 8 years of success, and congrats on being the #1 blog! your star is shining brightly Shoemoney!
thx for touching on FTC disclosure. i know this has been a hot topic these days with affiliates. you are a great speaker BTW!
you’re famous… lets aim for 1Million page views!
You are right Paul. I think he can do that. Lets help Schoe.
hahaha click on one of the videos and view it at Youtube.com. Then click the vuvuzela soccer ball button.
Damn I’m so envious! I want to do that KeyNote speech stuff too!
Strange… the video I took of you at the AffCon you were wearing shorts and flip-flops…
Nice, thanks for sharing you keynote at affcon.
Too bad you had to split the video in two.
You rock for sharing this. Thanks Shoemoney!
Excellent keynote! Thanks for giving us a peek under the tent and keeping us informed.
This business changes so fast that a solid foundation is key, but cutting edge information is essential.
Perfect keynote. Some big picture points, and some relevant details. What a Great talk. I love the thoughts on fear and the image of affiliates too. Thank you for posting this.
This should be called “Shoemoney Bonus”, since it’s a treat to see the keynote when you weren’t able to attend the conference. High Five!
That’s pretty powerful including Aaron, who can speak from the side of affiiates and a network. And your questions were great! Well balanced, I thought. Great talk!!! I am happy to have had the opportunity to see this.
Affiliate marketing has changed so much over the past few years! It doesn’t seem as easy as it used to be. Thx for touching on the changes from all angles. Stellar Keynote Shoe!
What a great way to celebrate five years of success. Thanks, Tatto! Seeing the picture of a Gallardo in your promotional poster is motivation enough for me.
P.S. – What’s with putting a man in the Gallardo in the video? The video should have featured a sexy babe like moi.
sorry! that comment was meant for the other post!
I can’t get enough of ShoeMoney.
How many of these have you done? You seem so relaxed. I would be stutututuering up there. Great talk. Took the words right out of my mouth. LOL!
Affcon 2010 was jam-packed with great opportunities for networking and learning, including many great panels and sessions run by industry veterans. I remember seeing you there up on stage, Shoe. You definitely rocked!
I really loved the final debate panel, Super Affiliate Room I, which featured some of my all time favorite web innovators like Peter Bordes, Charles Mui, Shai Pritz, Heather Paulson, Matt Frary and Mark Roth. And the best of all? The discussion was fueled with free beer. Yum!
AffCon2010 — Denver — provided the greatest opportunity to learn from my peers, find better commission deals, meet cool people, as well as explore new products to offer. The best part? Seeing Shoe’s Keynote. And even better than that is seeing it again on Shoe’s blog. Two thumbs up!
In addition to all of the great prizes, everyone who entered the Affcon raffle got access to a free Lite version of The A to Z Guide, which includes several chapters on a variety of Internet Marketing topics. A goldmine of info, I say! I can always add to my library. Loved Affcon.
I came (to the Affcon 2010)
I saw (Shoemoney + some of the other best web idols up on stage)
I conquered (and realigned my strategies to pattern those of the greats).
For those of you who don’t know…. Unlike other conferences, the Affcon2010 team believes it is fundamental that an affiliate should not pay to attend the event. You get to learn the biggest web business secrets, you get in for free and you get to meet the best under one roof. Doesn’t that sound awesome?
No suit for the conference’s keynote? Guess I’m old school. LOL!
Shoe, thanks for the sweet advice on keeping all successful business relationships alive no matter what. Probably the best classic piece of advice I heard at Affcon2010. Keep them rolling!
“Create a product that can keep people engaged at all times.” Definitely a doable quote from Aaron. Steve Jobs has his iPhone 4 that has a lot of connectivity flaws but people still want it…
Thanks to videos like these, I, as a newbie affiliate, can learn about how to take my web marketing strategies to a higher level in a snap. Be transparent, stick with the affiliate network you’re most comfortable to work with and start slowly but surely. Copy that, Shoe and Aaron!
Who wouldn’t attend a convention where all timely web marketing topics such as landing pages, social media initiatives, accounting for profits, mobile affiliate marketing as well as all things SEO are focal points of discussions led by the greats like Jeremy Schoemaker? I am so looking forward for next year’s Affcon.
I had the opportunity to immerse myself in a day of amazing education with the finest minds in affiliate and performance marketing. The classes were small – no more than ten people per instructor – offering a newbie like me a chance for meaningful engagement with big industry names.
I just loved it when, Tim Ash, president of SiteTurners.com, showed the convention participants “Why Your Landing Page Sucks and How to Fix It.” He was so down-to-earth and treated us noobs as if we were in the same level as him. Superbly wonderful.
Aaron Baker and Shoe on a single stage? Am I dreaming?
AffCon2010 and Search Engine Strategies teamed up to put performance marketers in the classroom with industry champions. Who wouldn’t want to attend a dream merger like that?
Discussions at AffCon2010 were programmed to appeal to affiliate marketers of all levels of experience with special focus on maximizing your skill levels for maximum growth for your affiliate marketing business. I fell in love with the convention as soon as the first topic was opened.
Regardless where you are in the SEO & SEM process, you will leave these intensive workshops with the necessary skills to improve your business results and take your search engine marketing up a notch.
I learned that a few tweaks in landing page efficiency can dramatically improve the profitability of your online marketing programs. sounds basic, but I overlooked my on-page aspects. Delivered in a fast-paced, peer to peer manner.
Thanks for stressing the importance of an open communication between advertiser and affiliate network member, Shoe. Aside from establishing a foundation of trust, an open line between the two parties will surely lead to making a lot of cash.
Aaron Baker really hit the spot when he said: “Quality is really the key.”
Advertisers do need a quality platform to provide quality services. If you’re giving them a seedy platform to work on…
I really liked how Jeremy mentioned the old axiom: Do not sit on your laurels. Do not be too sure about dodging a certain web marketing problem because it is happening somewhere far, far away. eventually it’s coming for you and you’ll be sorry if you’re not prepared to solve it. Good advice across the board!
Thanks for sharing your video!
Hey…. What’s in the pitcher?
That pithcer indicates transparency. LOL. it has water inside.. =)
Transparency is a necessity in business relationships. Keeping something a secret from your partner, in this case, the vendor/advertiser, can make a potentially sweet marketing deal into a sour one. From Facebook to Amazon.com , this mode of thinking is an important element.
Thanks for the vidéo.
They gave us audience members some great tips on getting started and succeeding in the affiliate marketing business. I am absolutely attending next year’s convention. Plus, they raffled off thousands of dollars worth of affiliate marketing-related products from some of the top vendors nowadays. I got a cool limited edition shirt from XYT.com. Woohoo!
Thank you so much for posting this.
After viewing these videos again I get the feeling there is some good stuff that you both were apprehensive to share (not the Google thing) that could really be helpful.
Now I know you don’t want to expose your markets that you are killing it in and have everyone come piling in, but it seemed like there was somethings that were not said…. It could just be my perspective?
Well you always have to choose your words carefully. I dunno that we held back it was more finding the correct way to say things.
Its not easy on the spot and un rehearsed
I can appreciate that for sure. I’ve been in the same situation in my day job (Coca-Cola) and you do have to pick you words wisely.
You have such a substantial resume in the business that I am trying to break into (online marketing) that I am looking for any available information that might give us an edge.
I’ll take whatever you can give and keep on learning.
Enjoyed both videos and got most of the takeaways from it.
One thing commented on was a book from a member of the audience…
Landing Page Optimisation which I think you said also dealt with call to action approaches.
What was the book and what is it’s source please.
I think that keynotes are important because they set the tone for a conference. The style of this is really telling. It’s down-to-earth, but still professional. And the credibility of the speakers is just unbeatable here.
If you are an affiliate, this is your event, your new home. There are so many representatives and great people in the industry that attended this… and to prove the value of affiliates? Traveling there becomes more reasonable because you don’t have to worry about an expensive ticket. I really enjoyed my time at the conference and recommend it!
I hope this will help me to get started, because I have websites, but have not earn any income, except I spent too much money Online but not materialized any.
I have not make any money yet. May be with your help and your system will make things better.
Thanks, to our success, and God bless.
Sincerely,
Tuifaiga
Cool that you posted this video for us. You guys covered alot of ground!
So many interesting things touched upon here. I’ve heard many keynotes. Yours stands out because you’re pretty up front about things.
Good to see that this one didn’t end up on YT being “for rent”.
Props for sharing!
Affiliate networks are constantly evolving to keep up with new Internet marketing trends. They are always coming up with solutions how to merge viable business strategies to match your traffic, niche and other factors that can lead to mutual success. As a affiliate network member, I can see the wisdom in Shoe’s words. Honesty is still the best policy after all. EVEN for affiliates!
This is certainly a can’t-miss keynote conversation between two of the industry’s biggest names: Laying down the foundation of a current web issue (e.g. managing your way through the affiliate marketing maze) the best way Aaron and Shoe can! Primo Stuff!
Nice way to wrap up my work week. Thanks for sharing this.
Hey, thanks for giving examples of websites (i.e cheezburger, mmajunkie) that really took off. It would be nice if you can give more examples of these in the near future.
Congrats! Funny and entertaining.
Thank you so much for posting this video for us.
Thats awesome, wish I coulda been there. Thx for posting this. (And you hang out with some hot girls.)
Thanks for the video, very impressive!
Took me a bit to listen to them, but I made it through. Good keynote. Not your standard talk and listen setup.
Thanks for sharing this. Part of me wants to be nice to the other readers and add some bullets on what the talk is about. But since some of them are competing with me for the Gallardo, I suppose I won’t be so nice. The readers will have to take the time to watch the video themselves.
Very interesting and useful article, thanks for sharing.:)
