Agree – the professional videos are nice, but when it’s a relaxed setting like this and your last video in your Hummer, I like this style much better!

Keeping relaxed videos shorter helps I think. Maybe I just like short videos though.

Hey Jeremy – You run with a rough crowd here. :) I always appreciate your videos. I just think that 20+ minutes unformatted is too hard to sit through. For what it’s worth, I would prefer to see this broken into segments. I just can’t sit through more than 5 minutes like this. That said, I did watch your whole video. It was worth picking up a few pointers. I just had to do it in 5 minutes spurts. Hope that helps!

I first learned about Frank Kern through you too, if I recall correctly. Great to know that other people have made that same connection, and have rightfully thanked you for it! I was fortunate because of what I learned from Frank too. Not $60,000 fortunate, but I had a decent run!

Traffic Shizzle… SEO Ejaculation… Secrets… Voodoo… Pretty funny. This is a bit too long for me though. Love the videos, but suggest making them shorter. I played the video in the background as I was working. I hit the overload mark at about 10 minutes.

Reply

22 Creative Marketer June 8, 2010 at 11:15 am

My biggest takeaway from this video is the interesting discussion on “Association” with winners. In the middle of the video, Shoe tells a story associating himself with other big name brands, as an illustration of the example. Think of the Oprah effect.

Reply

23 Mike June 8, 2010 at 11:29 am

What i got out of this:

1) sell value, not a product – sometimes people are always pitching and trying to hard to sell something when all you have to do is portray some value and the sales will come.

2) Offer to help others before asking for help. Often times you will get to where you want to go simply by offering a helping hand to those who need it. This happened with me and my business on numerous occassions.

But you seem fun, and you seem to like bringing people and ideas together. Why not bring people together too? Nerds need love too. :)

Hey Shoe,

I am ‘the guy’ that talked to you about LOST > Tru Blood > Dexter > Oz > etc.

I just want to clarify the record ;) As I recall (through my slight haze of Jack Daniels) we never actually talked about what I do. In fact, I never even introduced myself. Now THAT is great marketing!

After I left, I was like crap I never even introduced myself now I am going to the ‘The Lost Guy’. And so it has come to pass. Anyway, please consider this a belated intro.

So I’ve got this new product coming out…

Love the videos so far – I’m suspecting they’re more effective than the blog. Not only do they allow people to connect with you more as a person, but they allow us to look away sometimes and still have us learn. Good for people like me with adult ADD (non-diagnosed, you know?). I like to be able to pet my cat and still have Shoemoney wisdom continously playing in the background.

You mean you don’t put a lot of effort into the vids? I thought you really did a lot of production work on these things – I mean, I can’t believe you get this in one take. Shows that you really know your stuff, Big J.

Frank Kern’s socially awkward? That’s so cool. You’d think that he’s so charming and outspoken. That’s some really cool insight for people like me, who aren’t exactly the best public speakers, exactly. There is hope!

Where are you speaking next month, Shoe? Haven’t been able to keep tabs on where you’re promoting your marketing techniques recently. Wish I could catch your next speech.

This is really interesting. Do your friends know you’re talking about them on your vlog? I bet there’ll be a lot of links going out from this one….

Sounds like you and your friend had a great time at the Frank Kern event. Wish I had been able to go. It seems that I miss a lot of good events and go to the crappy ones. Boo!

I hope you won’t mind a bit of unsolicited advice, Shoe. This is a bit long and rambly, don’t you think? If you’ll be doing the whole vlog concept, maybe you should chop up the videos into smaller segments. It wouldn’t hurt to make the segments revolve around single topics, either.

This will be more beneficial for your viewers and the short, information-packed videos will encourage even more people to subscribe to your channel.

Will videos be part of the Shoemoney blog from now on? Like, a regular thing like Free Shirt Friday? Cool.

There is nothing new in IM. It is just a case of repackaging the same old stuff that always worked and giving it an exciting new name.

And if you are Frank Kern, charging mega bucks for it. He keeps getting away with it though.

Jeremy good stuff- You indirectly covered some key areas of influence that works well in marketing covered by Robert Calidini.

#1 – Expert Influence: when you don’t have an authority reputation, borrow it through association .
#2 Commonality: One guy was able to use their common interest in the show “Lost” as a conversation starter to then have Jeremy want to mentor the person. Very cool. Especially when you see that Jeremy enjoyed the conversation, Thats how you want everyone you meet to feel after you leave.

p.s. Nice to have a co-host to banter with during the video. wtg Pardee
