A guy walks into a At&t store

Posted by Jeremy Schoemaker.

Last week I was out of town all week and this week I will be in Seattle visiting the Has Offers folks so I thought I would just go in and pre-pay for a iPhone at the At&t store and whenever it comes it comes… I am not in a huge hurry to get one.

So today I strolled into the AT&T store to order one. Convo went like this:

Me: Hi, my company has 4 lines with you I would like to order us some iphone 4′s

ATT Dude: Sorry we are not taking orders at this time

Me: Ok how do I purchase a iphone 4 then?

ATT Dude: We open tuesday and will have some for sale. Then when we sell out we will accept orders and we should have about a 10 day turn around for those.

Me: Can I send in someone from my company to get the phones?

ATT Dude: No, Only 1 per person.

Me: How many do you think you will have?

ATT Dude: We are totally in the dark about it. They told us not even to speculate. We have no clue.

Me: Since I have to wait until you sell out to be able to preorder them and I will be out of town all week can you take down my CC info and place the order for me when you do sell out.

ATT Dude: No sorry I can’t do that. But you should check out some of our new awesome android & blackberry phones.

Me: Can I tell you a secret? I don’t have AT&T for the service and if/when I wanted a android phone I would go across the street to Verizon.

Custom Made is an online marketplace that connects buyer of custom made furniture, cabinetry, and other products with the artisans who create them. Custom Made has every thing from toys to boats, mostly made from wood, you can find artists by your area, or search the galleries for the type of product you are looking for. Then it seems that you can either buy a premade item or contact the artist to have a piece custom made. Great website and I would guess this could be a very valuable service. Check it out at www.custommade.com

Just use the godamn test email function.

Posted by Jeremy Schoemaker.

I sent out a email last night to the ShoeMoney newsletter list about the takeaways from my keynote session yesterday morning.

I only had about 15 mins to write it and had several people testing me who were waiting on me to join them for dinner.

Well I typed it up and let it fly….   And when I saw it in my inbox my stomach sank as I realized somehow the formatting got all jacked up and it like double pasted or something. Email is not like a blog post where I can just fix it…

What makes this more fun is then your phone blows up with texts from friends letting m know my email I just sent was jacked.

 Thanks….  Salt meet wound.

Course this could have easily been avoided if I would have just used the test email function.

But does it really matter ?  The click through ratio was great and I didn’t have many opt outs….

Maybe in the end it’s good to show you  are just a regular dumbass  like most people.  Maybe that’s my justification for fsking up…

Use the test email function.

FaceBook Advertising From Soup To Nuts

Posted by Jeremy Schoemaker.

As some of you know for the last 3 Affiliate Summits I have been on the Facebook Advertising Panel.

Its always been a very good panel but I think a lot of the attendees left feeling like they got a lot of canned responses from the Facebook staff and not any real understanding or direction.

This year Shawn Collins (Affiliate Summit co-founder) asked if I would be interested in doing a one hour solo presentation showing real examples from our campaigns and give tips based on our experience managing multimillion dollar Facebook campaigns.
