So today is my 36th birthday…. and the 7th time it has fallen on Memorial Day…. I think.

I am flying home from Frank Kern’s list control event in San Diego. What an amazing show he put on.

Sorry to be so brief. I am pretty beat ;) Plus I am sure a lot of you have better things to do on memorial day then read a blog.

I have a interesting video I want to post tomorrow afternoon about some revelations I had while here about the info marketing space in general.

About the author...

– who has written 2415 posts on ShoeMoney.com.

Hi I am Jeremy Schoemaker and ShoeMoney.com is my blog. 99% of the post here are done by me but you will see others occasionally make guest posts. This blog is fun to write but for my day job I run several online companies.

My maternal grandmother came from Venice and she told me that there are three ways how you can greet someone happy birthday. Since you already supplied the first one, here are the two other styles: Bun Cumpleani and At faz tent avguri ad bon cumplean. I think the former is mostly used in the Piedmont region, while the latter is popular in Rome.

A neighbor who was used to serve in the Navy told me this cool birthday story when they were sailing off to a routine ship maintenance check in Okinawa:

Because of a minor infraction, an officer aboard the USS Reeves, bound for Japan, was busted one rank, fined and given extra duty for three weeks. Looking forward to celebrating his 21st birthday on July 22, he consoled himself every night during his extra duty by reciting,

“They can bust me, they can fine me — but they can’t take away my birthday.” As July 22 approached, his excitement increased. When he went to bed on July 21, he happily repeated,

“They can bust me, they can fine me — but they can’t take away my birthday.”

The next morning, he found out that the ship had crossed the international date line — and it was July 23!

A birthday trivia for you, Shoe: It is thought that birthday celebrations originated in the Roman Empire. And they were largely due to the prominent religion at the time, Mithraism, which was later supplanted by Christianity. Enjoy your day!

Here’s another whopper: The Sultan of Brunei hosted the world’s most expensive Birthday Party to celebrate his 50th Birthday on 13 July, 1996. The cost was a whopping US $27.2 million. Three concerts featuring (the still alive) Michael Jackson costs US $16 million of the total amounts.
