Rob Hustle! Congratulations!
Every single one of the judges who responded had Rob as their first place vote. Rob’s entry really stood out because he not only told the ShoeMoney Story of how I started but also mentioned all the key selling points of the ShoeMoney System. The hook (chorus) is off the charts but the real thing that got us was the “haters gonna hate” graphic during the hook. Which anyone who has achieved any success on the internet can relate to.
Mix that in with a awesome production and… you have your winner. We like it so much we use it for our ringtone around the office.
Here you can download the iPhone version (just put it in iTunes) and the MP3 version for blackberry and android.
We have also made a new radio ad with Rob’s hook that will start to replace our current national ads next week.
Awesome job Rob. See you at the Playboy Mansion!
A big
THANK YOU
To all the entries. There were some really amazing ones. Thanks to everyone who entered!

April 5, 2010 at 9:49 am
Awesome choice.
April 6, 2010 at 9:23 am
ShoeMoney got this one right. Congrats to Rob Hustle!
April 5, 2010 at 10:06 am
Awesome lyrics and lyricist. Could us better editing, hook is a little hard to make out. I think Shoe should get him in a recording studio to polish it up. Good Job Rob Hustle and good pick Shoe!
April 5, 2010 at 10:11 am
Congrats Rob! Enjoy the mansion
April 5, 2010 at 10:15 am
Are you kidding me? I would not have picked that song personally, but hope it works out.
April 5, 2010 at 11:19 am
Me neither. But I trust that Jeremy and his staff know what they’re doing.
April 5, 2010 at 10:52 am
Not my first choice, but congratulations!
April 5, 2010 at 10:52 am
Shit is dope but wtf is that cartoon on the hook yo ?
April 5, 2010 at 11:12 am
Its called haters gonna hate (as mentioned in the post)

April 5, 2010 at 10:53 am
Cool! Finally, a winner! Congratulations, and enjoy your prize.
April 5, 2010 at 10:56 am
congratulations Rob!
April 5, 2010 at 11:00 am
Enjoy the prize and party hearty, guys. You deserve it.
April 5, 2010 at 11:01 am
Wooooot! Congratulations, Rob Hustle. And they said you couldn’t possibly win… .
April 5, 2010 at 11:03 am
Awww, and I had been betting against a friend that someone else would win. Oh well, them’s the breaks.
April 5, 2010 at 11:04 am
Hahahaha! You and me both.
April 5, 2010 at 11:15 am
Me three! That’ll teach me to stop putting money on things entirely left to chance.
April 5, 2010 at 11:20 am
Or, it’ll teach you to read through all the comments to see which guy has the most votes and *then* bet, like I did. Won three bucks. Not Shoemoney money, but it’s a start.
April 5, 2010 at 12:36 pm
I don’t think Rob Hustle was the most popular one in the polls. Though, that’s done and over with and they have the last say, so I am not going to go and count through the votes in the comments just to prove it.
April 5, 2010 at 11:05 am
Oh, and congratulations, Rob Hustle! Hey, I noticed that you’re the only guy who uses his own name in the theme song.
April 6, 2010 at 8:40 am
Rob Hustle’s his real name? I thought it was just his rapper name. Hustle’s too much of a gangsta name for me. Anyway, I really thought someone else would win. Rob Hustle was too generic for me.
April 5, 2010 at 11:13 am
Well done Rob, my regards to heff
April 5, 2010 at 11:14 am
Congratulations and here’s to hoping you’ll share your experience at the party with the rest of us envious mortals through a blog link or something. *hint hint*
April 5, 2010 at 11:24 am
That’s a good idea! Let’s hope they take the hint. What’d be even more fun is a video of their experience at the party.
April 5, 2010 at 11:18 am
Congratulations, Rob Hustle!
April 5, 2010 at 11:23 am
Congratulations to the winners of the contest! Have a ball at the mansion with the bunnies!
April 5, 2010 at 11:26 am
Pretty cool sounds, you guys rock. Congrats!
April 5, 2010 at 11:30 am
Argh! A RAP song won? Why?! But anyway, congratulations, guys.
April 5, 2010 at 11:39 am
CONGRATS ROB!
April 5, 2010 at 11:45 am
Congrats Rob! Well done!
April 5, 2010 at 11:48 am
Congrats Rob!
April 5, 2010 at 12:08 pm
Rob you’re a great rapper bro! Keep up the good work. good pick Jeremy.
“The system, the system.. the the the.. system”
April 5, 2010 at 12:39 pm
Congratulations to Rob Hustle! Good show with that vid!
April 5, 2010 at 12:41 pm
Congratulations to Rob! Enjoy the Playboy party!
April 5, 2010 at 12:42 pm
I can’t say that I’m very happy with this choice, but I trust Shoe and his judgment on this. Congratulations, Rob!
April 5, 2010 at 12:44 pm
Congrats, Rob!
April 5, 2010 at 12:46 pm
The fact that the winning song is now a ringtone at the Shoemoney office is kind of awesome. Congratulations, Rob!
April 5, 2010 at 12:52 pm
It’s a LOT awesome. I don’t like the song personally, but definite snaps for Rob for bagging the big prize!
April 5, 2010 at 12:48 pm
Thanks for offering a download, Shoe. Congrats, Rob!
April 5, 2010 at 12:54 pm
Great song to complement the best system online for making money!
April 5, 2010 at 2:03 pm
Good choice and good song
April 5, 2010 at 2:29 pm
Gotta be kidding me. What a set up.
April 5, 2010 at 2:54 pm
I said the same thing, Nicky Cakes submitted the entry, Shoe follows Nicky Cakes on twitter. I’d never represent my company with some trash talking hip hop song. Creative way to get some free advertising though Jeremy. What a let down to all of us who are actually talented.
April 5, 2010 at 3:13 pm
Are you one of those people that think all hip-hop is trash talk or just some of it?
Anyway, like it says, haters gonna hate no matter what you do. And just because Shoe follows NickyCakes on Twitter, it doesn’t mean that he should’ve been a default win or something.
I like the song because like Shoe said, it tells his story & also talks about how if you don’t have any skills, you’re basically screwed in this day & age. Couldn’t be any more closer to the truth.
April 5, 2010 at 3:23 pm
Actually Jason and Steve, your entry for me was up there with Rob Hustle’s. I had both of your tunes in my head all Friday. Trust me, it was a very hard decision for me.
April 5, 2010 at 3:32 pm
This was such a biased set up.
April 5, 2010 at 4:09 pm
I don’t want to take anything away from the “judges” but I agree with Brandon Fletcher, that this was a setup for sure. Anyone can download a free beat and put a nursery rhyme over it with cuss words. Not everyone can write a real song, with real lyrics, and really sing and perform it.
April 5, 2010 at 4:09 pm
Furthermore, IF a rap song was going to win (which it shouldn’t have) it SHOULD have been Brandon Fletcher’s, it stuck in my head the most, and was short and to the point.
April 5, 2010 at 4:18 pm
http://twitter.com/shoemoney/status/10981068384
I mean, we should have called it right here.
Anyone can download a free beat and put nursery rhymes with cuss words all over it, but not everyone can record with real instruments, write real lyrics, and sing CATCHY and VERY BUY MOTIVATING lyrics.
SET UP.
-10 respect for Shoe.
April 5, 2010 at 5:14 pm
OMG CONSPIRACY!
April 5, 2010 at 5:47 pm
I would have never chosen you. Rob Hustle’s is my favorite and I’m not a fan boy. Why don’t you stop being a bitch and accept defeat like a man? I mean, it really makes you look pathetic to whine about not winning…

April 5, 2010 at 4:45 pm
Jason & Steve you guys make good music but your vocals are like nails on chalk board
April 5, 2010 at 8:06 pm
don’t burn your bridges, accept the loss as a man and congratulate the winner
April 6, 2010 at 8:53 am
Someone’s bitter.
To be honest I didn’t expect Rob Hustle would win either, but you have to give him props. Rap isn’t just about rhymes. And it’s not that easy to write rhymes anyway. And I get that there were people who came up with more creative and unique theme songs, but at the end of the day, it’s not a popularity contest. There were judges, and maybe the judges just liked listening to rap music. So yeah, I think it was fair.
April 5, 2010 at 2:53 pm
That was way better than I was expecting! Well done, Rob!
April 5, 2010 at 2:54 pm
When is the ‘family friendly’ version getting released?
Congrats Rob Hustle.
April 6, 2010 at 1:29 pm
Rob posted that he already has one written out. I’d like to vote for that one, please.
April 5, 2010 at 3:37 pm
That song is tight. How did it compare to the other songs in the competition? Was it far and away the best?
April 5, 2010 at 3:49 pm
HATERS GONNA HATE
April 5, 2010 at 3:55 pm
He should become a rapper, awesome stuff.
April 5, 2010 at 4:57 pm
I’m not going to water it down. I personally wouldn’t have selected it either. Sounds like a generic written rap if you ask me.
April 5, 2010 at 5:41 pm
Seems like all the “contest” on the bigger blogs are pretty much just a game of the “big boys” giving each other toys back and forth.
Jon Volk just had a referral contest and the top 10 were all people who already had a huge list with John Chow and Shoe winning iPads…like they need it lol. Sure, they earned to be able to instantly win every referral contest they take part in because they built up their list but it just sucks for the “regular” or smaller noobs to ever get a chance to win any of that kind of crap. Though Jon did at least have one random entry winner.
Rob’s song was definitely well made and sounded great and would fit great at an affiliate party or something. But not really what one would think of to represent a business and definitely not something to sell the shoemoney system (at least in my humble noob opinion). But definitely no denying Robs jam kicked serious ass. Just unfortunate that someone that put in a ton of effort and would actually notice an extra $1k in their pocket and not already probably have a free ticket to the mansion didn’t win.
Shoe, why don’t you give away the ipad you won to a “second place” entry where you let the users vote?
April 5, 2010 at 10:51 pm
Actually I gave mine to my 3 year old daughter.
April 6, 2010 at 9:31 am
Ouch. I would’ve wanted a free iPad.
April 5, 2010 at 6:07 pm
I would never do business with a company that actually uses the Lords name in vain in a theme song? Absolute garbage in my opinion.
April 5, 2010 at 7:18 pm
Amen Pal.
April 5, 2010 at 9:32 pm
because your “lord” is an imaginary character and many people don’t live by the same book of rules made up by power hungry church rebels. lol. Just kidding, believe in jesus kids. :/
April 6, 2010 at 1:31 pm
Hey! No hating on other people’s religions, please.
April 10, 2010 at 11:05 pm
I hate on pretty much all “religion”
. Part of my freedom too
.
April 5, 2010 at 7:07 pm
Wow! I can’t believe that I won
I am incredibly stoked! There were some great entries, and I feel honored to have been selected from among them. The competition was tough, and I would like to acknowledge all of the competitors who submitted entries. If I could not win I hoped to lose to JP or Ramone Jones.
Thank you to everyone who left positive comments in this thread. I REALLY appreciate the support, and I wish you all the best of luck with your online ventures. If you are going to be at Ad Tech in SF, hit me up!
For the people that did not like my use of profanity, I want to let you know it was something I thought about at length. I actually have a clean version of this song written. However, as an artist, I believed that it was important for me to not water down my delivery or my approach based on other people’s expectations. The deciding factor came in the form of one of the comments on the original Theme Song post. Someone asked if we should censor the lyrics (PG,R,Gangsta). The answer was “Bring it.” So, it was brought.
For the contestants upset about the result, I understand that it is disappointing when you put so much effort into something and it doesn’t pan out. All I can say is, it’s important not to tie your happiness to an outcome. Win or lose, I enjoyed the track that I made, and I would not have regretted entering the contest even if I had not been selected.
If you love what you do, then you can be happy regardless of what other people say about your work. It doesn’t matter if the judges don’t pick you, because in your heart, you will know you did something worthwhile that lots of people enjoyed. That knowledge is what will let you continue to move forward in the face of adversity.
That said, I would like to take the rest of this post to appreciate all the people that supported me… So, big thank you’s to:

April 5, 2010 at 9:24 pm
Congrats Rob.. Its such a big honor to emerge victorious..
April 6, 2010 at 2:56 am
a bunch of nerds + rob hustle at the playboy mansion with a bunch of bunnies. wonder who’s gonna win in that situation.
April 6, 2010 at 1:33 pm
I’d say the organizers, and whomever else is watching with amusement.
April 6, 2010 at 11:03 am
Congratulations, dude. Good job on the beats and rhymes.
April 7, 2010 at 11:22 pm
Well said Rob! Congrats on the “W”! Enjoy the Mansion you lucky dog!
April 8, 2010 at 3:04 pm
Respect.
April 5, 2010 at 7:08 pm
To be honest, there were other good ones but Robs, you are the man.. thats a sick rap. Good choice shoe, the purpose of a theme song is to include the details of the system and Rob did a great job in there. Although, a lot of people might find it offensive due to the profanity in the track but its all about the hustle and the real money making deal and not just some rap or song we want to hear and judge. And again, a lot of negative comments in here. Rob has a message for the haters too “haters gonna hate”
Good luck all!
April 5, 2010 at 7:12 pm
Hate to say it but it’s such a poor taste with all the profanity. Good luck in attracting the right crowd with this theme song.
April 6, 2010 at 12:17 am
way to much cursing for me also..to to much…
April 6, 2010 at 11:59 am
Might want to tell that to the current rappers that are sitting up in their mansions & whatnot because millions of people can’t get enough of their music.
April 6, 2010 at 12:57 pm
I agree. This kind of marketing is tasteless. I was hoping that Jeremy would be more inclined to improve the quality of advertising on the internet and not just pander to the lowest common denominator.
April 6, 2010 at 1:02 pm
I completely agree with this. While it’s true that sex and profanity sell, there’s a place for such things, and this wasn’t one of them.
April 5, 2010 at 8:05 pm
That cartoon haters gonna hate is the best part about it
April 5, 2010 at 8:16 pm
You guys need to realize that the song won’t ever probably be used. It is just a way to get some attention to the site. And for those who are dickbent about profanity in the song need to grow up. It’s a big boys world and if you can’t handle some profanity in a rap song then you need to go work at a kindergarten.
April 5, 2010 at 11:10 pm
The whole point of the argument on profanity is that a theme song shouldn’t have any. It lowers the value of the song, much like a person commenting with the words “dickbent” lowers the value of his comment.
April 5, 2010 at 11:05 pm
Regardless of whether or not you dudes think it was set up, or a mistake, or whatever, it makes no difference to question it here. To whine and gripe that you lost a theme song writing contest is low. If you had a problem with the results, you should have taken it up with Shoe in private. This is just poor form.
April 6, 2010 at 9:05 am
My thoughts exactly. If people wanna complain they should talk to Shoe. Taking it here makes ‘em look like sore losers.
April 6, 2010 at 12:16 am
have not been on this site in a min but glad im back…need to catch up on the articles
April 6, 2010 at 1:41 am
i love the chores, totally awesome !
good job
April 6, 2010 at 3:29 am
The amount of whining in this thread is pathetic. The selected song is hot. Tells the whole story (edification) that backs up why you should bother listening to shoemoney in the first place. This would be entertaining even for someone who has never heard of shoemoney previously which I believe is the whole damned point.
As far as “swearing” and “not attracting the right type of clients”… are you frickin serious? You know who needs online revenue more than anyone else? People who don’t fit in at an office setting. People who just want to step to their own beat, be their own boss and not have to worry about corporate policies and politics. Hey if you want PC garbage so bad go get a middle management job sucking on some CEO’s dick and growing his paycheck. You CAN make high 5 figures or low 6 figures doing that fairly simple. But if you want to just fuck around and make money from your couch in your boxers while you listen to music then chances are you don’t give a fuck about swearing and you are probably better suited for internet marketing than Joe Square up there complaining about Jesus.
April 6, 2010 at 1:25 pm
I’m sorry, but did you just say that the people who make money off the internet are people who just sit on their asses all day and “fuck around and make money off the internet”? Web marketing happens to be serious work. Which apparently you know nothing of.
April 6, 2010 at 7:10 pm
clearly you haven’t been checking my deposits lately. Just because its seriously hard work for you doesn’t mean it is for everyone.
April 6, 2010 at 3:30 am
Hey, cool. That’s funny. I’ve always heard about Shoe Money and now I see the kind of stuff you do, here. Pretty cool, pretty cool. Thanks.
April 6, 2010 at 9:50 am
What kind of cool things have you heard about Shoemoney? That Jeremy gives away free Playboy Mansion tickets? Or that he has these contests occasionally? Well, they’re all true.
And btw, I see you’re building links.
April 6, 2010 at 8:37 am
Well, I didn’t vote for him but congrats, Rob Hustle.
April 6, 2010 at 8:49 am
Not pleased with the result, but whatever. I thought Rob’s was okay. I guess it was better than most of the entries.
April 6, 2010 at 8:55 am
I like rap, and I like Rob Hustle’s song, but… wow, this was a surprise. Didn’t expect this AT ALL. I thought Rob Hustle’s was okay, kinda good, but NOT awesome good. Still, congrats, Rob Hustle.
April 6, 2010 at 9:04 am
Pardon for being naive, but why do all rap songs have profanities? Is that a necessity? I personally think rap without curses is still rap, just like rhymes without curses are still rhymes.
April 6, 2010 at 9:17 am
It’s embedded in hip-hop culture. But yeah, I’ve heard of good rap songs without profanities.
April 6, 2010 at 9:19 am
So does this mean Rob Hustle gets to… sing? In the Playboy Mansion party? Heh heh. The girls would love it.
April 6, 2010 at 9:53 am
Rob Hustle doesn’t sing. He raps.
April 6, 2010 at 9:24 am
Are you really going to use this song on the site, Jeremy? Or like BG or intro music for your videos?
April 6, 2010 at 9:29 am
Yesss! Rob Hustle was one of my choices. Yay, congrats! You deserve the Playboy Mansion prize!
April 6, 2010 at 9:35 am
Congratulations!
April 6, 2010 at 9:40 am
As I remember I didn’t like Rob Hustle’s entry that much. But I’m not going to lie — it is catchy. Maybe I’ll like it if I listen to it more. Downloading the mp3. Thanks, Jeremy! And congrats, RobHustle!
April 6, 2010 at 9:57 am
Hell yeah, great job Rob. And to all of you complaining, refer to the haters gonna hate graphic.
April 6, 2010 at 1:41 pm
I actually liked it when I sped up the track. If you play it at 30% faster it sounds pretty cool to me. Awesome either way.
April 6, 2010 at 6:57 pm
I can see the point about the language, but after I initially listened to the entries this beat was the one that stuck in my head. This gets me pumped up and motivated to go make some cash.
April 6, 2010 at 7:51 pm
Wow – Sooooo cool! MF this MF that. Great business decision. You are sure to appeal to a young demographic, but you really stepped in it for most people over 30. Too bad you decided to tie a great product in with something I really wouldn’t want my kids listening to.
April 7, 2010 at 12:21 am
Shoe, the funny thing about the haters? They’re just giving Rob more power. One thing I learned years ago is that if you have haters like this, you’re doing something right. Instead of concentrating on whatever they’re doing, they just keep on hating.
April 7, 2010 at 12:10 pm
Congrats Rob!
Pretty awesome stuff from him, and all the other entrants.
April 13, 2010 at 5:08 am
Congratulations, Rob!
And have a good time on the Playboy Mansion.
We’ll watch you on movies.
April 17, 2010 at 10:26 pm
Great article Sh0eMoney and nice song from Rob! I enjoyed it
April 18, 2010 at 5:02 pm
Dude that is freakin awesome!
June 3, 2010 at 9:11 pm
Congrats! Coll Vid
July 19, 2010 at 4:28 pm
that is RAD that you have your own theme song. If I would have known about this contest, I would have been on it!
