On January 4th th a winner will be announced.

Our panel of Judges listed below will each nominate one of favorite entries and then users will be able to vote for the winner!

I created my blog entry at: http://blog.cruisepricewatch.com/2009/12/take-me-away-please-or-why-i-should-win-the-affiliate-summit-gambler-contest/.

I hope that the powers that be will see fit to help me out.

For the money, I put more in my blog entry, but of course I’ll be gambling it. I’ll even do better and say that I’ll keep gambling it. Read my blog post for how I plan to spend the money.

I would love to go to this! I have friends that have gone only to come back making more money and having more free time to enjoy life! I have a small consultancy and would love to diversify business revenue with afilliate revenue to have more time and money to enjoy life! Going to this event would definately help me do that! I would BET the $1,000 on a spin of roulette. I wouldnt decide Red or Black till the ball was spinning. Have to go with my gut on that one!

You’re a fool if you don’t pick the first option, “Roll with me to some super badass private parties” itself is worth more than everything else on that list combined.

Reply

12 Jeremy Schoemaker December 9, 2009 at 5:18 pm

Actually you get all that no matter what.

The choice is between taking 1k and walking away or 2k to gamble

Gonna make a blog post later today, with a few reasons why I REALLY want to go to Vegas. And I’m even closer now, living in Peru, rather than when I was living in Denmark. ;-)
As ProBlogineer, any requirements like linking back to this post, or a special page?

Nice initiative, looking forward to see other creative post about why people wants to go to Affiliate Summit. Cool competition.

Awsome Dr. Shoe and the ASW gang. Good luck to everyone. Hope you don’t mind some tips:

1) Use IMAGES!

2) Use Video if you can

3) HOOK to Vegas for gods sake!! REPEAT: VEGAS baby.

4) Give my tired eyes a rest and use multiple pages with only a paragraph or two on each page

5) Two pages max. All of us have the attention span of a NAT :)

6) Think outside the box and let it all hang out! TT? RT? FaceBook? Hashtag? Who the hell doesn’t like Viral!

Goog luck!

I think that I have more to learn than most since the niche I’m trying to learn about is the sweepstakes niche which is essentially gambling and knowing some of the ways Vegas sells their games could help me.

I’d most likely take the $1000 upfront and ‘gamble’ it on advertising for my website. After all it’s a risk I have much more control over.

Sorry I’m in the process of overhauling it so some links don’t work but in the first 3 months we managed to get 100,000 clicks so I figured it was worth overhauling the site to make it easier to make money. Check it out: http://www.justkeepclicking.com

Reply

26 Matt December 9, 2009 at 8:46 pm

Upon further consideration I take that back.. actually I’d take the $2000 because it has a significantly higher expected value even if it is not guarenteed

Oh has to be a blog.. hmm… I’ll think about it and get back to this.

I’m already going to ASW, but I won a contest through Azoogle before, through John Chow’s blog, and they never did re-reimburse airfare. Left a bad taste in my mouth; I gave up trying after a few unanswered emails.

I do not think that John is allowing air fares in his contest. He clearly mentioned that prize money will not include fares and all.

Azoogle runs a class act, and definitely does not nickle and dime.

Can you pop over to my blog, (click on purposeinc at the beginning of this comment) find my e-mail, and send me the details. The two founders, Marketing director, top affiliate managers etc. are all good friends of mine.

Send me the details of what happened.

Azoogle contacted me this week and fixed everything. I appreciate being invited to the party for the contest I had won and had a great time and realize that it was just a misunderstanding.

Optimal strategy will be to take the $2 million to roulette. Then have someone you know bring along another million and place it the opposite of what you pick as well as 35k on Green and 35k on double green.

Why not just put the entire 2 million on 00.

As I read through these comments and entries, there is nothing that impresses me. Most of these so called internet money makers, probably had mommy and daddy supporting them throughout their careers/life. It’s really a joke. I know I’m not innocent in all of this (ok I got one meal a day from them after 15 years old). But usually the winner is some smuck that has a last entry that is full of bullshit. Probably a set up if you ask me. One of the judges relatives or some shit.

I see the big picture of how they usually pick some dude that’s already making thousands already, enough to feed Somalia.

I had a couple beers and some shots in me tonight. That explains the shit about the inequality and injustice that runs throughout people these days.

God bless and have a good night.

Shoe,

Just so you know, if you bet $2,000 on a single hand, and that’s the entire bankroll, you are subjecting the person to a house advantage exceeding 5% (reasons explained below). This is almost as bad as standard double 0 roulette. A single bet on either the banker or player side on baccarat would be the best if betting the entire bankroll, at slightly over a 1% advantage.

The reason for this is simple: depending on the rules at the table and the number of decks, blackjack house advantage for a basic strategy player is the lowest in the house, ranging from 0.25% to 0.65%. The problem is that this advantage is based on being able to double down on any two cards, split, double after split, etc. Without any of these options, which the winner will not have because the entire bankroll is being bet on the initial hand, the house advantage skyrockets.

Roulette is horrible. You’d be much better off to let them place the bet on either banker or player on baccarat than a one-shot bet on blackjack, for the above reason. Take the winner to Bellagio – you can play up to $15,000 per hand on either side on their mini-baccarat.

Reply

90 Michelle December 17, 2009 at 5:52 pm

Keep the $100 because the odds lean to the house winning.

http://www.Watcheditem.com/search

Blackjack Strategies and Their Affect on the Casino House Edge

Blackjack players who use Basic Strategy can affect the blackjack odds to the point where they are playing almost even with the casino. It’s possible to find a blackjack game with a house edge of 0.5% or less once you know what to look for and how to play your cards correctly. If you don’t use a specific strategy and just play on impulse, your house edge will be in the range of 2-5% in favor of the casino. You will lose $2 – $5 of every $100 you bet. If you play Basic Strategy, the house edge is approximately 0.5%. That is one half of one percent. The casino keeps 50 cents of every $100 you bet.
