I agree with you. There are way too many people that are full of shit at conferences.

The people that tend to make the real money, never talk about how much money they are making. Why? Because they don’t want others to catch on.

the real money maker never show up or talk much…. networks make sure no one see them …. they don’t don’t want to share that high quality traffic…..

I agree with Neil; the people making the real money wont tell their secrets and it’s a shame to see so many people taken in by the posers. Glad you got the friendly affiliate managers issue out; too many disillusioned hopefuls.:).Great video Jeremy. Good luck with your speech.

Interesting, so why does your blog have pics of you with you black card? You, Shoe, Chow, and Zac, all brag about the amount of money you’ve made, does this post mean you’re all full of shit too? Are all your pics photo shopped as well?

No it doesn’t, it’s full of fake profiles. Wadda ya think Facebook is made on legit traffic, think again how they got so “big”. Zuckerberg & co. also did “fake it till you make it” like slew of other “social networks”. Pumping up fake traffic is not easy but it’s not hard either.

I love your no bullshit approach. I’ve been approached by alot of the scam-ass losers that make 2 million a month.

Dude, 2 million a month. I would VERY quietly milk that cash cow for 6 to 12 months and bam… cold beer, Caribbean sand a new hookah. Life would be good!

Selling you my 2 million a month plan for $39.00 PLUS $27,000 in FREE bonus material? BULLSHIT. You’re hoping 60 suckers buy your shit cuz you’re low on ramen and park rent for your double wide is due next week.

    Keep telling like it is!

    • john

PSML, “Selling you my 2 million a month plan for $39.00 PLUS $27,000 in FREE bonus material? BULLSHIT.” Love that, think I’m going to quote that from now on.

The sad matter of the fact is, people buy in to that kinda shit. I’ll hold my hands up, I have too when I was younger! Not that I thought I’d make millions, but because I thought perhaps SOME income.

This is the exact reason I never go to these kind of conferences, well at least not yet anyway!

Half the people are not action takers, they are just talk and never do!

90,000 leads a day on Facebook with nothing. I can do that with my eyes closed. Oh, and I slept with that affiliate manager you are talking about. Twice.

Great stuff! And I would love to see more video posts. There is a touch of Steven Wright to your deliver . . . and that’s a good thing.

In my offline business I deal with some very successful clients who have incomes in the $5M to $20M a year range. What is interesting is that none of them talk about the money they are making. The clients who like to brag about their income are the $150K guys who think they are $10M a year players.

9000 leads a day is pretty average from facebook.

  44. pecious007
    November 6, 2009 at 7:47 am

    Facebook has …

More than 300 million active users ..

But those guys are still full of shit, cause that would be a conversion rate 20% yearly and that is simply insane.

    Al.

    • Jeremy Schoemaker
      November 6, 2009 at 7:08 pm

Actually the site has 300 million users…. world wide… but there are less then 15 million status udpates. So USA based users active facebook estimates its about 40-50m

      • Booboo
        November 11, 2009 at 7:25 am

It’s theoretically possible to get more leads than users because you can get more than one lead per person. For instance, you may have a game that requires a user provide leads to 10 different companies during the course of the game. That’s 1 user, and 10 leads.

I’m sure that guy was blowing smoke, but you guys are really missing the point with the math because your concept of a lead is flawed. Each user can be a paid lead hundreds of times.

Some good stuff there… definitely lots of B.S. to sort through in the affiliate industry.

But just to add one thing, I do know an affiliate who did end up taking his affiliate manager back to his room at another conference earlier this year. Wasn’t even a big affiliate either, just a newbie, but perhaps she did really like him. lol

Well I agree on payout part and people running around collecting business cards. It annoying. I tell people I don’t have a business card.

I still suck at getting traffic, but I do get decent enough leads from facebook. hehehehe.

I actually just came by to check your alexa because I was still pissed about that post you wrote way back when TY had a felony thingy, but as I watched I saw you in a new light and realized this dude may not be so bad after all so I’m Good.
As far as affiliate mgr’s I want to know why they all suck unless your “somebody:” special they blow you off well that has only caused me to study harder and work faster now I don’t need their help but I do have ONE that has my back and no we aren’t F*cking they just do their job and can handle it I guess. When I apply I asked the person right off the bat are you going to help me etc they all say the same thing YES and then you don’t hear nothing it’s all good because like I said I don’t need their help now
Enjoy the conferences when I get some real money I will step up and shake your hand at one.Peace

  54. Will
    November 7, 2009 at 5:37 pm

Actually, that aff manager might sleep with you if you join, give shitloads of traffic, and then threaten to leave unless she sleeps with you.

This guy have lot of attitude, can you smell it through the video above?

    • Craig M. Rosenblum
      November 9, 2009 at 9:54 pm

Yes you have a lot of attitude, but a lot of common sense is coming through, and that is what i value.

I mean if you go into any business, you want to learn from those who went before you…some will say the truth, some won’t and most are some wildly changing percentage of that lol.

      Have fun.

  56. Chad
    November 9, 2009 at 2:21 am

I agree with the sentiment that true affiliate titans and even networks don’t need to start every conversation off with how much of a baller they are. If you really want to set yourself up, ask all the questions and let the other party give up all the information, they will leave the conversation thinking your swell because you’re a great listener and you will leave the talk that much smarter.

Wow, that kind of stuff really goes on at these conferences?

I like the guy with the 90′000 fb leads per day. What’s he doing at a conference? Wouldn’t he be chilling on his private Island, more likely?

  60. Jenny

LOL @ the cute affy managers. Someone sounds a little spurned. xD

  61. Tom Howell
    November 16, 2009 at 8:58 am

Well, just like in different industries, sex sells and if you get some unsocial affiliate that is pushing good traffic, some attractive AM would probably sway their decision a great deal in selecting who they deal with.

I have had my fair share of AM’s that tried to “get me with their attractiveness” but you have to realize at the end of the day for the affiliate marketer, it is all about business and getting paid, not getting laid. That is another topic altogether.
