This is a security update, the version 2.9 provides new functionality for images.

I don’t understand why they released the new version so quickly after the last update 2 months ago.
I don’t see any changing in this new version. It’s not really necessary to upgrade.

Wow, it’s really tough to keep up with all of the updates. I realize that there are security reasons for many (if not all) of the updates, but geez, it’s practically a full time job just doing updates!

It pays to update as soon as possible. I had my blog hacked because I didn’t bother with the updates.

It almost feels like you have to update wordpress every damn week now.

That’s fine for 1 site – but its becoming hard to base many clients sites on WP – as updating 100’s of sites to insure security is a real pain.

With four clicks you can upgrade a Wordpress instalation, with a database backup included ;)

Before it was much worse, uploading all the files manually.

    Thanks for the update.

Any word on what the difference between this version and what’s going to be included on 2.9?
