Sign Up For Chitika Premium – Win A New Laptop!

Posted on: August 17th, 2009 by Jeremy Schoemaker

Chitika announced yesterday they will be giving away 5 brand new dell mini-9 laptops to new premium publishers. These laptops are pretty hot and I have been looking to pickup one for a bit cause you can install MacOSX on them.

The only trick is you have to earn atleast $50 to be eligible to win…. but seriously who can’t make $50.

People like Darren Rowse have claimed Chitika out earns Google AdSense on their niche properties.

What is Chitika Premium ? Checkout this video here:

Looks like they are doing some snazzy referrer based targeting among other things with their new Chitika Premium.

Hello Dr. Shoemoney, do you own Chitika, and if not why do you advertise them so much (banner across top of home page)? Just wondering

Wow that’s great a branded mini-laptop like dell.

I would be nice also if they could share with us the complete specifications of the mini-laptop.

I’m still hoping for my entire life experience what does Mac OS look like. Is it friendly user OS?

This looks like a great oppurunity and 50 dollars doesn’t look too hard to make. Im sure there will be a lot of people to chose from for the winners.

Sounds like a great opportunity. Does Chitika normally bring in more $ per click though, or is it only through certain niches?

    Two things to consider –

    # If you have good and stable traffic …

    # Traffic should come from European and US …

If you have these two than you can get the earning as well.

      August 25, 2009 at 5:52 am

So far as the second point is considered, I feel that any average website will see that it is the European and US traffic that is the second highest in their quota. So going for Chitika will always make sense.

I like the ability of these Dell mini-laptops to run MacOS. You can at least have some of the benefits of being an Apple user without having to fork out for the expensive hardware.

Chitika Premium has been a good source of income for me as well. Initially when I got to know that they were withdrawing the old ads and were introducing the new Chitika Premuim I was disappointed because of the many ifs and only-if associated with it. But when I saw that the income from Chitika Premium was almost 4 times my old Chitika ads, I realized the importance of the change.

Yeah I know Chris even I have chitika on my other 3 blogs as well. To manage those blogs I outsourced to four Indian guys and they are doing very fine on them.

But here at Jeremy blog we generally get the information about affiliates.

    • R Kumar
      August 20, 2009 at 8:34 pm

That is unfortunate. Do you know the exact reason for the rejection? Is it got something to do with the blog or, something, though I have not heard of any such things till now?

I signed up with Chitika about 2-3 months ago, and after many attempts at getting help with the referral code to send other to Chitika (the guy handling my affiliate account never would get back to me), I decided I was through with them.

There are too many other networks out there to put up with companies refusing to care about their affiliates.

I like Chitika BUT you really need the right niche. But them on the wrong type of site and it’s really easy make bugger all, never mind $50

  32. Marc
    August 17, 2009 at 10:41 pm

I’ll probably get some hate from this comment, but I’ll just lay it out. Chitika only wants your best qualifying traffic which is search engine traffic. They pay peanuts compared to Adsense especially when they are arbitraging high affiliate commissions against the pennies they pay. I don’t run them any more. Gave them lots of chances on lots of sites in lots of niches and they consistently underperformed. You are better off posting affiliate products or running some other PPC. Some CPM plans even pay better depending on the niche.

This is obviously just my experience, but I gave them a more than fair chance over a three year period. The payout was great with minimalls back then, but I finally gave them the axe earlier this year.

    Just one guy’s experience.

    • Chris Peterson
      August 19, 2009 at 11:45 am

Well they talk all big talks about their paying style & talk it works as adsense alternative ..lol

Thanks for sharing any way :)

    • Dan Ruby
      August 20, 2009 at 9:42 am

      Hey Marc,

Sorry you didn’t see the results you wanted with Chitika | Premium. You’re right – we want a publisher’s search traffic, and only display to search, but that’s because we base the ads we show on a visitor’s search query. Out of curiosity, were you running us instead of AdSense or in conjunction? We tend to see the best results when people combine the two – it’s generally a very nice incremental jump from AdSense alone.

The eMiniMalls were nice (before my time w/Chitika), but what we try to do now is serve ads based on the immediate intent of a visitor.

      Cheers,

      Dan Ruby

That was a pretty nice explanation of the entire thing. Though I disagree with the view that Chitika doesn’t generate enough cash, I still feel there could be areas of improvement in the aspect that these Premium ads only appear to Search engine traffic.
