Robert Drysdale At This Year’s Thinktank

by Jeremy Schoemaker on July 23, 2009 · 44 comments

Last year while training at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas I got to meet 6x Brazilian jiu Jitzu Champion Robert Drysdale:

In talking to Robert he mentioned that his webmaster, Sean Rigo, was a huge ShoeMoney fan and has been reading the blog for years!   Wow, small world!

Now, if you remember at last year’s Thinktank DK had world class UFC/MMA trainer Shawn Tompkins working out with us.  I asked Robert if he would be interested in doing this year’,s Thinktank event and that he should talk to DK about it.

Well, they talked and Robert is in!   That is pretty awesome that the world’s greatest Jitz fighter (holding over 90 world titles total) will be teaching the Thinktank attendees some moves.

In addition to teaching us, Robert will also be an attendee and learning how to get more web traffic to his Las Vegas Jiu Jitsu studio which opened up this year.

Looking forward to it!

Awesome I’m looking forward to seeing more about that. I’m a big fan of MMA, and I also practice BJJ and Judo as well.

i m big fan of MMA. Despite the fact that the UFC is everywhere these days, most of these true fans were there from the beginning back in 1993. It was that first event that intrigued them and kept them hooked for the next 15-plus years.

Robert Drysdale is a great grappler but the thing that seperates this stuff from other BJJ instructionals is that this instructional required a certain degree of skill and flexibility to really grasp all of it’s contents. It seems geared more towards impressing the consumer as oppose to being effective and practical

Robert is the man. He is the master of my BJJ master in Brazil. There are some pics of him around the gym too.

You should organize an Elite Retreat in Brazil someday Shoe.

“The thinktank was great but Robert Drysdale kicked me in the face.”

BJJ is so complex, that to be a master you MUST be brilliant. The analysis that takes place with these guys as to what move to do next is very detailed in the way a chess game is. Intelligence is not just measured by the use of words, but can be measured by the complex actions someone can accomplish, predict and execute in sequence, which is exemplified by a BJJ master.
(Note to Shoe – My apologies for the gooder grammar)

I recently had the honor of meeting Robert Drysdale when he came to my school. What a great dude, and an incredible talent. His Jiu Jitsu is on another level.

But its his mindset that truly puts him on another level. He has a great approach to challenges.

Yeah his face is showing that he accepts challenge with open heart. Nice to see him in our side.

Dang, that guy looks like a beast. Stay on his good side!

Kinda cool to hear that he’ll be listening in to a discussion on how to drive traffic to sites.

Too bad for him that he got stuck with the .net of his name…..not even a squatter on the .com….just a guy with the same name.

That dude is a lot taller than I thought. Is he standing on a stair or something? That’s pretty awesome that he’s involved with the think tank.

i guess he is nearer to the camera… so looking tall,

what dose that hand gesture mean, is he asking us to call him?

I thought sporsmen of such level are too busy to take interest in managing their websites. But it’s great Robert finds time for that, nd for participating in web conferences. I think he’ll be a great contribution!

Its already 58 seconds and his website is still yet to open.

Good to people from all genre entering the internet marketing world. Irrespective of the reasons why they are here for, the point that is driven back home is that Internet is still an explosive medium to market yourselves, your products, your business, your thoughts, and even your events like what this case that Jeremy talks about is.
