Your Logo On My Chest At Affilaite Summit East – For Charity!

by Jeremy Schoemaker on July 20, 2009 · 163 comments

Last December I agreed to wear your companies logo EXCLUSIVELY at Affiliate Summit west and the auction ended up going for $10,000 !!!!

We gave the money on behalf of the Affiliate Marketers Give Back foundation to the National Breast cancer society.

Now I doubt we can top the last auction for charity but here goes!

This is a great chance to get your brand out there and also support a GREAT CAUSE!

All of the winning bidders money will go to the Lincoln City Mission homeless shelter on behalf of Affiliate Marketers Give Back.

The short version is this:

There is an auction on here for me to wear your company logo during Affiliate Summit.

The winner will send me 3 shirts to wear at Affiliate Summit East aug 9-11th 2009 in NYC .  I will wear no other shirt than your shirt during the conference and parties.

You will receive a TON of exposure. And A LOT MORE than just a handsome model wearing your logo!

Video Exposure:

  • At Affiliate Summit this year we have gone through all the background checks, union agreements, and other hoops to be one of very few people allowed to take video inside of Affiliate Summit West.  I already have about 15 companies booked to interview them about their services and also will be doing some general video.
  • I also am asked about 10-20 times to be video interviewed (nobody is supposed to shoot video without authorization people will do it outside of conference areas) and your shirt will be shown.
  • I have over 10,000 YouTube subscribers and am by far the most subscribed to person in this niche.  All of the subscribers get alerted each time I upload a video.  Each of my videos also has a chance of being syndicated by techcrunch/mashable or another large HUGE website and giving your company more exposure.
  • I will also put the video on our CDN which will be ShoeMoney branded and get more exposure on the blog here.

Photo Exposure:

My photo gallery is the most visited section of ShoeMoney.com other than the root domain.  Check these stats out from the last year:

You are not reading that wrong… over 2 million pageviews and almost 1.7 MILLION UNIQUE pageviews. That’s quite an amazing reach!

But besides the TONS of photos I will have in my own gallery, there will be loads of them on flickr and Facebook that people will tag and they’ll be seen by many.

So put your logo in front of TONS of people NOW!

I can’t thank you enough for doing this to support the National Breast Cancer Foundations — Affiliate Summit 2009 West’s charity of choice.

As someone who is an active fundraiser for breast cancer research and treatment, I can’t tell you how much this makes me happy.

Bid ‘em up high folks! It’s for a great cause!

Jeremy,

No budget for T-shirts or logos. Spending it on gas for car and meals, to drive to #ASW09 from SF Bay area. I have a Platinum Pass, (thanks Shawn Collins!) and will not be videotaping this one, just absorbing and offering assistance as appropriate.

Looking forward to meeting you again, you are one of the few genuine

HMMMM thats a tough call, as any delays would be less than idea for me as I would hate to promote a site that isn’t quite up yet hehehe

Either way, I will definitely need some serious promotion for atleast the first month, as is forsee the sight spreading like wildfire already, as the concept hasnt yet been executed.

I will be in touch with you after it launches – hopefully you will have another form of advertising I’ll be able to take advantage of, as I’m sure you will bring our site great startup traffic!!

I’m about a month too late with starting up the concept lol – great idea though to auction off ad space like this!

Reply

37 Scott Skinger December 19, 2008 at 12:18 pm

Wow, what a great opportunity. Especially for a company launching/growing an affiliate program. Can we put more on the shirt besides a company logo? For example, something like “Looking for great affiliates, 25% payouts and higher”. Nothing obnoxious or overly spammy but some sort of message to help attract more leads.

Thanks.

Reply

38 teraom December 19, 2008 at 12:23 pm

no tshirt spam. Just the name and never forget the URL

Reply

39 Scott Skinger December 19, 2008 at 12:27 pm

It can be done in a way that is not spammy. Just a logo/emblem makes it less valuable. Even something less spammy than what I posted before would be helpful, like “Join our affiliate program”. Something to allow the reader of the t-shirt to connect the company logo to an action or purpose.

50 Blogging Tips December 19, 2008 at 4:30 pm

You never know with ebay .. sometimes I have an auction end and
I think OMG somebody actually paid me that much for that LOL.
This Tshirt idea could blow over in a few hours and not go up much more or it could keep going .. people get determined to win and
the next thing you know Mr Shoe is walking around in a $20K tshirt.
I hope he gets a buttload of cash for it.

Reply

51 Taris Janitens December 19, 2008 at 5:38 pm

I just hope whoever wins actually pays up, not like the other 98% of major auctions on ebay that are won by a 9-year-old with his mother’s credit card.

Reply

53 Ricky Peterson July 20, 2009 at 9:27 am

Well i guess last year it ended up at $10k this year it should go some where around $25k since these it is very much difficult to promote your products on internet without support of Shoe, John, Zac and Neil ..!!

Jeremy, you need to put some fine print in there that you can’t be held responsible for the shirt and how it is captured on film .. I mean what if they offer a free monster BBQ buffet and the shirt gets wasted .. ok so that probably wont happen .. I’m just thinking about wanting BBQ.

Yeah the kid playing on mommys account winner syndrome sucks … I’ve had a few payments later refunded because of this excuse .. which was a lame excuse … how many kids sneek on their parents ebay accounts .. search out and bid on SEO services or products .. discuss the details after they win .. drag it out for a couple weeks and then suddenly get caught … they’re too busy looking at porn. Bad thing about it now is ebay and paypal are too interconnected and tend to take the side of the buyer. Especially with digital products services … Once I auctioned a service and a month later paypal had taken $90 from me saying that the buyer claimed I had never shipped the item … it was a service that could not be tracked by Fedex so I got ripped before I could notify paypal of the scam … did they say whoops we goofed and replace my money? Of course not …. Somebody step up and build a replacement to ebay … and paypal.

How about an auction for the opportunity to place an adhesive Shoemoney logo on the chest of the guest-poster of the winner’s choice?
