Snods Tips and Tactics

Posted on: June 15th, 2009 by Jeremy Schoemaker

Snods had brief outage this weekend but otherwise is off to a awesome start! If you have not checked out Snods yet its a real time strategy game that is based around twitter.

Since I originally wrote about the new twitter game Snods last week I have seen a LOT of familiar faces playing. Also a lot have been asking for tips on how to play. One of the things I really like about Snods is that it takes like 10 minutes a day to play.

Here are my tips from what I have learned so far…. Feel free to contribute any tips in comments.

Turn off the chatter:

The cool thing about SNODS is that it gives you full control over the communication that goes on over twitter. Don’t piss off your followers… First thing go into the communication settings and turn off what you do not want.

snods

Have the last laugh:

Since you get a 20% bonus for having your cells full wait until later in the day to fill them. What you dont want to do is shoot your wad on captives before noon then get nuked and have no recourse.

Just like affiliate marketing we want to make money while we sleep ;) .

Steal from the poor:

Yup thats right… *TRUST ME* When you have your steal attempts goto the top 100 list then work your way from the BOTTOM up. The weaker on the top 100 will have less guards and probably have not played for like 12 hours meaning they have fat bank for you to nab.

Newbie Mistakes:

You get 1 free solitary confinement. Make sure you use it

Make sure you upgrade stuff evenly until you decide what you want to focus on. A good mix of guards/vault/captive quantity.

I am hoping some skilled players will get in the game cause I need some competition =P

Just joking =P

Love the game and the ideal of basing it on twitter accounts is brilliant.

Jeremy – where did you go?
I guess you just helped with the launch of Snods but don’t really have time to enjoy it?? It can be a bit boring but I’m trying to keep a high ranking to see how it affects gaining Twitter followers. Hoping a top 5 might help me gain a few. When you’re not a blogging superstar you need to keep working on gaining an audience. (I imagine blogging stars need to keep working as well – but you get my point). By the way – NHL Draft is tonight!! I’ll be there in person – looking forward to it!

Hey Shoe – you were playing and hanging in the top – until about a week (?) ago… thought maybe you dropped, but still couldn’t find you. Then I noticed you dropped all your captives and you were effectively out of the game… Any reason? Just curious.

Thanks for your tips (not just SNODS) and the info you share.

I’m enjoying playing it. I’m up to around 40th so far. Hoping they add a few bells and whistles as time goes on. It’s pretty shallow right now but has tons of potential.

Where is the vault? I upgraded mine so I can store more of my money in it, but I can’t find a link to it? Or does it just automatically not allow people to steal x amount?

I guest you about to get a ton of snod cash from the affiliate link. – lol

You are so right about waiting to the end of the day.
One thing I would add is floating in the top 10- 15 rankings keeps the attacks on your cash and captives down.
Cause everybody guns for number one.

The only problem i have with Snods, is that even though you can turn off some of the messaging. It still sends out a tonne of DM’s everytime you rob someone. And you cant turn that off.

Well i get enough automated DM’s as it is.

I had that problem too. I got 173 DMs sent to myself when I failed to recapture someone. All within the span of an hour. It sent out the “you can’t recapture for another 23.9 hrs” message every 20 seconds on the dot via a DM
