Learning From People Who Actually Do Stuff

by Jeremy Schoemaker on May 3, 2009 · 60 comments

Last week on the ShoeMoney show my guest was Yaro Starak.  The first half of the show we talked about how Yaro got to where he is now which I think many people will find pretty facinating.

The second half of the show we talked about Yaro’s latest projects.  The extremely successful Blog Mastermind course and the new upcoming Membership Site Mastermind.

One of the main reasons I wanted to have Yaro on was not just to talk about his products but the marketing behind them that made them so successful.  Yaro has years of experience in conversions with both email, search, and blog traffic and we discuss various techniques in all to have a successful product launch.

Thanks for posting. I’ve been a fan of Yaro’s for quite sometime. He doesn’t do a lot of outside press from what I’ve seen, so it’s nice to get an interview with him now and then. I’d like to start up my own membership site one day for recurring rev. Good work, Shoe!

Hey, just want to send out a shout out to Jeremy and Staff. You guys did a freakin’ awesome job on ShoeMoneyTools. Any of you out there that are serious about ever making any kind of money with internet marketing, need to get on the wagon and sign up.

Yaro is one of my favorite bloggers. I learnt blogging from his posts on his blog. i would not do anything but agree on the fact that anything that Yaro is involved in is excellent. If Shoe also gets involved in it, then it has to be called exceptional.

i have to agree because the guy started out as a nobody and who ever taught him the ropes is a true genius because this guy as been making money in bunches as well as getting the publicity on various blogging websites

Yaro is doing great for himself, and his mastermind program really shows that he knows what he’s doing.

One thing I’d like to point out to those trying to make money blogging is the fact that Yaro doesn’t update his blog every single day.

It’s because, number 1: he’s done so well marketing and is already pretty well known, and number 2: his biggest money making comes from his products and services aside from him blog.

Jeremy put it very well in a previous post when he said most bloggers that make really good money online are those that have products and services outside of just their blog.

Shoe,
found this DM you posted on twitter “@dgianvito my ears are tingling =P” you replied to a comment I made. I missed it on twitter but now have tweetdeck and it’s sitting there. But Shoe you unfollowed so I can’t DM. Response was “How do you keep up with 29K and I find it hard to keep up with 300. Just trying to “learn from people who do stuff”, Oh, That’s You.
Thanks for all you do…

there’s alot of talk out there about how to make money online by blogging, when the fact is that a fraction of netropreneurs make any money online via blogging, affiliate marketing or otherwise. That being said, it’s cool to get insight from people who’ve been there already and actually beat the odds! Good stuff!

I’d like to start my own membership site someday. I started blogging recently, and just noticed that most upstart blogger’s blog isn’t their best source of income. It makes me think that I should have started a business before talking about how to make money online.

Reply

21 almir May 3, 2009 at 7:56 pm

well don’t get way ahead of yourself first you need to know what you are doing first before you consider doing a membership site because people are going to think your a liar if your membership site bombs

Reply

22 Benjamin Cip May 4, 2009 at 1:16 am

I totally agree with you, and I’m not planning to have a membership site before a long time. I will be focusing on providing good contents for my readers before starting another business. Honesty is the best policy ;)

the good thing is that you understand this because their are many that say exactly what you said and go with it and once someone asks you a question and you don’t know how to approach or answer the question they already know your full of @#$% because many like to pick your brain to see how much you really know about your niche its true. That’s why you never claim you know everything about your niche although we say it we don’t really mean it because everyday we learn something new whether it be on or offline.

Knowing from the Blogger who have achieved greater milestone in blogging is all together different ball game. Yaro has achieved greater skills in order to create E-books.

Are we missing Darren from Problogger ??

Really looking forward to the membership site mastermind course going ahead. He’s done a great lead up and definitely worked the anticipation side to it.

I would recommend anyone interested in pre-launching a product look at how well Yaro has done his.

Obviously he’s leveraged off some other great bloggers along to way :)

Cheers

I used to be one of those business owners that had to do everything to feel it was being done correctly, or learn everything myself.

But I am finally getting, what seems to be one of the most important business lessons, which is getting people smarter than you.

Great download.
