Summer Internships At ShoeMoney Media Group INC

by Jeremy Schoemaker on April 16, 2009 · 69 comments

We have recently decided to accept applications for a summer internship at ShoeMoney Media Group INC.

This internship will give you hands on experience with a very very small (4 people) internet company who does very large revenues on the internet.

You will learn marketing techniques they will be teaching 20 years from now in college.

You will have to work hard.  We work all the time.  There are no weekends, there are no holidays.  You are always available.

Who is this internship for?

This internship is *NOT* for someone who wants to work at a 9-5 job for a big company for the rest of your life.

I do not hire employees I hire partners.

Everyone who works for me is on track to be part owner.

This internship is best suited for someone who wants to run their own internet business.

What Skills are required:

A good work ethic and confidence in yourself.

We can teach the rest.

Skills you need to bring:

A work ethic.

Be good with numbers.

Be street smart.

PHP/MySQL/Graphics editing/Video Editing big pluses – Show us what you got.

What kind of money can you make during this internship here?

Nothing.

What expenses will be reimbursed?

We are pretty flexible in this area depending on the candidate.

Who is this open to?

Anyone anywhere in the world.

All internship positions are located in Lincoln, Nebraska.

What can You expect after the internship is over?

If you can make it through the internship you will be set.  Ask any of my employees how many times they get asked if they want to move companies.

Your life will never be the same.

How do you apply?

Send a email to brienna at shoemoney.com with your skills and what you bring to the table.  We do not want your resume.   Ohh you should probably also follow her on twitter and kiss her ass ;)

Were it not for my wife telling me no… I’d drive out there and personally tell you my skills.

Awesome opportunity, and anyone with the chance to take it, shouldn’t hesitate!

Very interesting. So you say “around the world” but then mention Lincoln. So, does this mean the person should move to Lincoln?

I am pretty sure that’s what he means.

An amazing opportunity to say the least. Right now I am in my sophomore year of earning my degree in Information Systems Web Application Development from Illinois State University and an internship like this is a REQUIREMENT for my graduation.

Sadly, I do not think it’s possible for me to take an internship for this summer, but I will definitely need one the summer after.

Hopefully something like this will be available then :)

Ah this would be great, not gonna bother though, since you probably wouldn’t accept anyone under the age of 18.

This sounds so sweet. I’m jactually pretty jealous. I would give anything almost anything. Almost.

BTW, I am digging the new shoemoney tools. I like the SEO possibilities a lot.

Anyone thats looking to make it… TO REALLY MAKE IT should do WHATEVER it takes to get this internship. I got a shot like this years ago with Russell Brunson at DotComSecrets and my life has never been the same.

If you want this… Be the loudest, be the bravest, be the most willing, show him that no one else possibly applying wants it more then you do. That’s how I got my shot.

This is awesome of you Shoe!

What about conflict of interest? I know I’m not going to get paid whilst I’m there but do you have any problems with me making money from my own already established sites whilst I’m at it? Just curious.

I think he is missing one good attribute for finding these people…

Of course a work ethic needs to be high…

Creativity is the one your missing out on Shoemeister…

Reply

yes shoe will be right on posting on your high volume targeted traffic since his blog gets none of that…

Shoemeister needs to pick someone hungry in the game…Picking someone that is already making 50 G’s ++ a year wouldn’t be a good idea…

Now for the man/woman that is low on the totem pole, it would be hard for them to move out to Lincoln, get a place to live, can’t live without food in the belly and so on…

I guess a lot of details are left out…

It sounds really cool, I know I would learn a lot from an internship with you. However I already have a job like the one you are describing, but we have 8 people working here (including myself).

Good luck t all applicants. I guess there is a tradeoff of making money from a job right away right now, versus learning from Shoemoney’s team, which would pay off in the long run.

Reply

38 Greg April 18, 2009 at 12:51 pm

With all the excuses listed above, I doubt the selection comes from the comments area. Heck, if you want to do this…what is 4 months? Seriously. Bust your ass and you will most likely learn so much that you will never need another job, worry about another recession, wonder whether you can get time off to go to your kids ball game. Yeah, it is a “sacrifice” for free, but realistically if it was guaranteed success coming out you would pay for this. Be confident and go for it. Lincoln is a nice place as well…just bring Red.

First of all I will like to give people that already are in this project good luck and I really hope that with this, people will change their lifestyle. At my point this look like a scam for me is not like a real company that will help you there are too many persons in the world that they really want to use people to grow themselves. So as a last comment people just be very carefully before enroll in this project.

Reply

45 Jeremy Schoemaker April 20, 2009 at 12:46 pm

I completely agree with this comment. You should investigate every company before doing a internship.

You WILL be working for me for free and if you dont help us grow you wont last a week.

I just want to highly amplify this guys points.

Will boardnig and food be paid for at least? Will we learn how to think more outside the box if we do this? I am very interested because I want to implement ideas but places i’ve worked don’t want to hear about ideas or explore different solutions to problems. What would a programmer learn? Can we learn how to market effectively?
