The Sweet Science Of Landing Pages

Posted on: March 19th, 2009 by Jeremy Schoemaker

I wrote a article for this months feed front magazine called “The Sweet Science Of Landing Pages”.   It was the first time I was ever given constraints on how many words min and max I could have.   I think its a pretty good basic overview of landing pages and things people need to think about.

If you don’t get the print magazine you can download the PDF from the official feedfront website.

BTW if you are not getting the print magazine sign up now.  Its 100% free.

How about landing pages where you don’t need to pre-qual someone. Like if you’re just trying to get them to a product like an Blackberry or iPhone. Is it worth putting in an extra step to get to the product, or should you just send them directly to the product page?

I really used to be skeptical of landing pages and I sort of still am.

Perhaps it is because I tend to leave when I am on one. I believe it is because I know it is a sales page.

Anyone else get that? or used to be like that?

I have been turned around for last few months and been reading all I can about salesmanship.

    Thanks for the link.

I always find landing pages to be a chore, so thanx for the tips, I hadn’t thought to use google website optimizer to try different variations and had been doing it manually after so many clicks.
