CaribClix.com – Free Shirt Friday

by Jeremy Schoemaker on March 13, 2009 · 54 comments

CaribClix.com is the first online advertising network in the Caribbean. Through CaribClix, advertisers can highly target Jamaican and Caribbean audiences. Too bad they didn’t send me on a trip to see their offices. :) Thanks for the shirt!

I’m with you Amit. For my tastes, it’s a bit too light… Or the letters aren’t heavy enough so you can read it easily from too far away. But what do I know? I don’t even have a shirt for my web site!

I thought it was a chocolate candy site.

Shoe it looks like you are actually losing weight in that picture as well. Why do you have a white board behind the toilet?

The toilet?

He has a white board because it’s his office.

The caribbean?

I’ve went to Jamaica last Spring for vacation, and that country is poor. What is it that advertisers can sell to them?

Hmm…

Well, somehow we find ways to market to the poor in the US all the time, so there’s definitely some kind of a market place in any social class community.

Also, while many Caribbean islands/nations are poor, there are others that are significantly wealthy. Many of the poorer nations also have a very rich class of people.

I think its an interesting idea to target the Caribbean in all honesty, and I’m curious as to how the company has fared and will continue to fare.

BTW, Free T-Shirt Friday is a great idea Shoe.

11 Tushar March 13, 2009 at 9:38 pm

Because they target the richer people in those countries.

Well certainly not to poor people as we do not want to scam them ;) … lollzz

But there are two things on caribbean – One tourist spot and second cricket.

To answer some questiosn…why the Caribbean…and aren’t they poor…

Why does CaribClix see an online ad network as a viable business?

While the Caribbean market globally cannot compare to say India, China or even the States in term of vast numbers, never discount that we are a very lucrative and largely untapped niche online. Think of the Caribbean in these real terms.

-There are just under 40 million people living in the English, Spanish and French Caribbean.

- Add to that another 7 millions more living in what we call the Caribbean Diapsora in United States, U.K and Canada.

-The Caribbean Diaspora in the United States alone has money and send back over US$5 billion to their homelands in 2007 alone.

-The Caribbean Diaspora in the United States alone has an annual disposable income in excess of US$60 billion are among the most educated and progressive immigrants living there.

-Add to that, according to the US Department of Commerce, there was US$19 billion in two-way trade between the Caribbean and United States along and in a single year.

So while a few who maybe a little unknowing about things Caribbean, may see us only as bunch of islands that have fantastic beaches, amazing sunsets, the best rum on the planet and a region that gave birth to Jamaican Reggae Music Icon Bob Marley – never forget we are thriving nations with very successful business and conglomerates and a Caribbean Diaspora based in the US, UK and Canada that represents a very hot and untapped market.

“It would be more useful if they were in a particular order.” Why? The utility of a tag cloud is not to show order but to show frequency, is it not?
