BuddyTV Launches Fantasy League Reality TV

by Jeremy Schoemaker on March 9, 2009 · 35 comments

Last summer I was talking with BuddyTV CEO Andy Liu about how me and my wife bet on reality TV.  Usually its just something like dinner choices for a month… or movie choices or whatever.   Then he told me about how they were working on a fantasy league for reality TV and going to give away some sweet prizes and stuff.

I thought it was a awesome idea.

Well its launched!  Get over to BuddyTV and sign up now if you are a fan of reality television shows and think you have what it takes to beat me!

Typically I am not a huge fan of any reality show, but a reality show fantasy league makes things more interesting. Just like being able to bet on sports. I will check it out!

That’s awesome!

So do you get some free advertising at least for coming up with the idea? :)

this is a really fun idea! I normally bet on Amazing Race for similar things (dinner choices, etc)…this website idea does offer more opportunities to participate in other reality show bets. thanks for the link!

Never got into reality tv. you see one, you’ve seen em all.
in my opinion, a simple concept that has been used so many times now that its run its course. Why so many people love this stuff is…. hard for me to fathem.

I agree with this comment. Reality TV was at its prime during the first few seasons of Apprentice and American Idol. But, as the viewership of both shows have been decreasing over the last few years, popularity of reality shows are cooling off quite a bit. I’m not so sure if this idea would take off, but I definitely think it’s an idea worth a try.

Well honestly speaking for me this is the result of Good rehearsal and these reality show is nothing but a well directed TV show.

I am sure charm of these one is really going down, if you compare from early days.

Very clever idea, I’m surprised, having gone a decade with reality TV, this wasn’t done before. Not surprised Andy’s a part of it.
