Yesterday we got our shipment of iPod touches for all the attendees from the Elite Retreat. I load them up with my favorite audio books (with permission from the authors) and now that they are touches we also loading on some slick applications too.
Special thanks to our sponsors this year:

Lots of people have been asking if we are going to have an event next year. I honestly do not know but we will let you know!

February 6, 2009 at 8:14 am
wow. there’s a difference between “comment spam” and “contributing to the conversation”. You, paid comment spam service, failed at both.
February 5, 2009 at 10:45 pm
I’ll donate 25 copies of any of my iPhone apps in exchange for a plug. We have a top selling tip calculator, mortgage calculator and a word game. Email me if interested.
February 5, 2009 at 7:58 pm
I’m in for next year if you’re looking for a pledge. I set aside the money in the budget. You DON’T include airfair and hotel right? I’ll admit I didn’t go back and READ to find the answer… I just want to make sure I put enough aside.
February 5, 2009 at 7:47 pm
i wish i was an elite! that’s a lot of ipod touches good stuff!
February 5, 2009 at 3:50 pm
As if the value wasn’t already there with the speaker line up, this door prize is a fantastic giveaway. You should include one of the digital voice recorder apps so the attendees could record the presentations (not during the NDA though).
February 5, 2009 at 3:26 pm
That’s freaking cool! I have an ipod touch and giving them away at marketing conference is a hella cool idea. Keep up the awesome, man!

February 5, 2009 at 8:06 am
Last year the Ipods you gave out were formatted for Mac, and while I;’ve listedned t o90% of the content, can’t use it on my PC without formattion and losing all the great books.
Is there any chance you can do some PC compatibles with these? Maybe have Tigh take an attendeed poll?
Oh, and 10 days away!? Whew! You scared the sh*t out of me, thinking I had screwed up my airline tickets and hotel reservations by clicking on the wrong week in a booking calendar!
It’s the week after…
Really looking forward to it again, Thanks.
February 5, 2009 at 1:00 pm
I thought the same thing and checked the calendar for my tickets. Tigh, make mine Mac.
February 5, 2009 at 1:37 pm
Its more of a licensing thing then a mac vs pc.
February 5, 2009 at 4:39 am

February 5, 2009 at 12:17 pm
My guess is that is why 90% of the people comment here.
February 5, 2009 at 3:23 pm
Bingo.
It’s a win-win. If you know what that means.
February 5, 2009 at 7:56 pm
I don’t really get any traffic from here. I just comment because I’m weird? I dunno. I’ve been a reader too long to give up now… He even did a post about me once (Albeit like 3 words…)
February 10, 2009 at 10:25 pm
“I just comment because I’m weird?” me to. I’ve gotten like 4 visitors.
February 5, 2009 at 8:35 am

February 5, 2009 at 12:02 am
hmmmm awesome….no pain no gain didn’t it
February 4, 2009 at 10:53 pm
How does it feel that blogs like “Icanhascheezburger” and “Bankaholic.com” which have not been around as long as you have allot more traffic then you and sold for millions.
IMHO that must not set well with someone like you with a big ego. I bet you sit in bed at night and go “bawhahaha, why why why?”.

I have also been on the board of advisers for ICHC and am involved with the investment group that purchased the site 2 years ago.
So thanks
February 5, 2009 at 12:07 pm
So?
February 5, 2009 at 3:22 pm
LOL – clueless hater. Jeremy’s stated many times that this is a personal site. The goal was never to sell it. And for the MMO vertical he’s in, its been monetized plenty.
February 4, 2009 at 8:53 pm
Hopefully you do keep this running for a few more years. Seems like an event I might actually want to go to once I get all my projects underway.
February 4, 2009 at 5:51 pm
Wow that is a lot of ipod touches, That S design is great, how many touches do you have?
February 4, 2009 at 5:25 pm
Jeremy, just so you know, I’ve managed to steal all of your trade secrets from the dry erase board behind you. Muaahhhhhaahahahaha. It’s all about the keyword and ad tools…The World Is MINE! Nice door prize by the way. Top notch.
February 4, 2009 at 5:08 pm
only a true (billionaire)x(trillionaire)x(millionaire) like shoemoney would be allowed that close to a billion dollars of apple merchandise. if i did it an alarm would go off
February 4, 2009 at 3:52 pm
Looking forward to this years event my man….see you there!
February 4, 2009 at 3:35 pm
Hey $hoemoney – I’m $ending my husband to you again – will you take him under your wing? Will you $how him the way?
February 5, 2009 at 6:09 am
Wow you are already effected by the shoe money by using $ sign for S.
Nice going.
February 4, 2009 at 3:31 pm
Jeremy,
I live in San Francisco Bay Area.
Are there any remaining ‘free-passes’?
A contest?
Can I wash your car?
Do you need valet parking?
Can I buy you a Starbucks?
Just kidding, once I learn how to dominate PPC I’ll be the first one in line for Eleite Retreat 20XX.
Respectfully,
Nicholas Chase

Hi we never give away passes to this event. It sells out pretty fast. Some affiliate networks purchased passes to give out to their top affiliates.
February 4, 2009 at 3:19 pm
you gotta keep elite retreat going … you have created history with that conference/meetup!
February 4, 2009 at 3:00 pm
Looking forward to it Jeremy. This year looks like being the best one yet.
February 5, 2009 at 5:50 am
Experience will make the difference mate. Every year we learn new things and sometime through our mistakes.
So every new year will be better than last year.
February 4, 2009 at 2:50 pm
Wonder if everything I have on my Touch will fil on the new one.
February 4, 2009 at 2:36 pm
nice! can’t wait for this conference
February 4, 2009 at 2:11 pm
Would you be able to give us the list of audiobooks and apps you upload to the iTouch?
February 4, 2009 at 2:01 pm
You should do a domino effect with the iPods.
February 4, 2009 at 1:08 pm
Hey Jeremy, I think you mean “two weeks left” until the 17th – otherwise let me know so I can rebook my flight
February 4, 2009 at 1:13 pm
actually i will be arriving on the 14th
February 4, 2009 at 12:43 pm
Unlike other people commenting here, I noticed the “my favorite audiobooks” part.
What are your favorite audiobooks Jeremy?
February 4, 2009 at 1:12 pm
everything by seth godin, donald trump, and Robert Kiyosaki
February 5, 2009 at 9:56 am
I can’t ever seem to put down books by Seth or Donald… always creative & powerful.
February 5, 2009 at 3:18 pm
Robert Kiyosaki, really? Seth Godin and the Donald I understand. Robert’s books have good principles (getting out of the rat race, etc) but I think how the books direct you to execute is off. Tim Ferris is a much better read!
Speaking of the Donald, you a fan of The Apprentice? New Celebrity season looks pretty sick with Dennis Rodman.
February 10, 2009 at 10:21 pm
Robert Kiyosaki is a great beginner type entrepreneurial books to start off with. out of high school I was a framing carpenter than general contractor after reading Kiyosakis books. I think he captures a lot of great fundamental concepts and make some simple. Tim Ferris, awesome book however he makes it seem way too simple. Seth Godin and SEO book are where I’m at now. always looking to see who others are reading. I think it would be a great post if Jeremy listed some of or all of his favorite books. he could even use an affiliate link to Amazon. did you know you can download music from Amazon without shareware encryption?
February 4, 2009 at 12:29 pm
How to spot a guy who has a lot of iPod touches: He uses them like legos to build a giant money sign logo
February 4, 2009 at 12:28 pm
If I was you, and the event is as great of a success as it seems it is, why WOULDN’T you hold an event next year??
I say this mainly because I want to attend lol
February 4, 2009 at 1:15 pm
Its a pretty big thing for us to put on every year I always say its the last year… but then we do it again.
I just dont want to get peoples hopes up
February 5, 2009 at 12:19 pm
It would be good if you could come across the Pond and run your event here in the UK next year
February 5, 2009 at 3:48 pm
c’mon, I know its a lot of work to put on a show, but there it is also a huge rush. I worked with some friends on a WordCamp recently. It was a great experience, and though hard work, we feel it was a worthwhile experience.
February 4, 2009 at 12:04 pm
What’s up with fighters.com? How come it’s not been updated in over a month?
February 4, 2009 at 11:56 am
I’m now really glad I didn’t go out and buy one haha
February 4, 2009 at 11:54 am
Thats awesome! Love what you did with the Ipods on the table and I think its an awesome idea.
February 4, 2009 at 11:48 am
Boy this one is looking like as you are with the treasure. Your smile and your standing and seating action was like a winner.
Amazing pose.
February 4, 2009 at 11:47 am
Nice display of your logo “$” (kind of similar)
February 4, 2009 at 11:44 am
Wow… great pics loving the shoemoney $. What applications are you loading on the touchs? Wish I was Elite enough, maybe next year. Keep up the good work Shoe!
February 5, 2009 at 12:24 am
Yeh,
I also wish I was elite enough. A FREE Ipod touch would be awesome!
Sounds like it is going to be a really cool retreat.
I will definately be seeing people at the Blog World Expo in October. A am ready to start networking with bloggers in person.
February 5, 2009 at 7:53 pm
I don’t know if I would consider the iPod’s “free” – it’s $5k to go.
February 7, 2009 at 2:27 pm
oh SNAP… that is one hell of an expensive iPod touch. For that much it better be 32 gb and come with 4.4k.
