Less then 24 hours left

by Jeremy Schoemaker on December 28, 2008 · 55 comments

There is less than 24 hours left in the “I will whore myself out to you for charity” contest where I will wear no other shirts in public other then your company’s at affiliate summit west 2009.

The bid is currently at about $2500 and that is CHEAP for the exposure you are going to get.

If you compare the current bid for what it would cost to purchase an ad for just one month its out of this world low priced.

Your brand will live forever in the photo gallery.

DO NOT LET THIS OPPORTUNITY PASS BY! BID NOW!

That is a hell of a deal for that much exposure. Wish I had it in the budget to bid.

I definitely would not spend money on something like this. However, it may be good for a business.

To be totally honest I thought it was going to go way higher!! I’m curious to see what it does in the last 24

I agree it is a great deal. Whoever wins will get a lot of exposure and for sure their money back. If it doesn’t go to at least 5k then I will be slightly disappointed. It is great exposure and your money goes to a great cause.

You got your wish, with over $5200 as a final winning bid!! DAMN!!

I was hoping to see it go higher after the initial rush. $2500 is still pretty good though.

Yeah, it is a fair amount of loot indeed! It went up to $2500 very quickly, and then stayed there. I did think it would go up a bit more though.

Whoring and Charity – never realized it could fit in the same sentence. ;) Surely that bid is going to go higher.

You should get a shirt made with ads on the back from blogger’s that pay you for it.

It’d be a chance for blogger’s that can’t afford such a large sum of money to gain exposure.

Could be a win-win for both parties. :)

Wish I had shirts made so I could jump in the bidding.

That is a true deal! Will the highest bidder win the spot? Thanks for offering up this opportunity Jeremy.

I don’t know if I would say you were whoring yourself out. Seems rather harsh for a charitable function.

I’m surprised the price isn’t much higher yet. I predict it will land at $4,000.

I think it will as people wait for last hours to bid ;)

$132,994.97 …
hmmm now you’re enough rich to pay for ear surgery and having more hair … also eyes surgery and maybe liposuction will be a good thing for you too lol

I fail to see the value of having you wear a company’s tshirt around at ASW. Who (exactly) do you think you are? lol… seriously. you’re not that big of a deal.

What is the process you see happening? Someone sees you in a t-shirt and punches the name of the company into Google on their phone and then… buys something?

Or maybe they get a link from your site for being the highest bidder? who pays $2500 for a link. I would loooove to hear what the value is that you’re offering here.

And really, I don’t blame you for taking advantage of people that would consider paying you to wear a tshirt… I just really feel sorry for them for being morons.

Well, he is someone within the community that people either love or hate, but he at least doesn’t hide. I don’t need to defend him, but you seem to fall pretty short on the understanding what this is about.

Charity. The money doesn’t go into his pocket, but people who need it. What value does he carry? Well, he gets his picture taken a lot, and those pictures (assuming they show his chest) will be up on many blogs forever. Most people know that he is wearing the t-shirts for charity, and so most will show the whole shirt. He is a high profile person in the community, and has value – even as a billboard. If I were able, I would bid and put a March of Dimes shirt on him – not my business. Maybe next year.

The moron here seems to be you, as you have show your inability to grasp a pretty easy concept.

Hi Jeremy

Amazing how many people just do not get what you are trying to do here. After about ten years of losing money I have just started to have success in Internet Marketing. This is due mostly to my two mentors Michael Cheney and Alex Jeffreys.

If I had the money right now I would out bid everyone to promote this charity and gain the additional benefits that would result.

Please do something like this again in the future. I will soon be in a better position to participate.

What a fab idea! $2500 with 24hrs to go? I reckon you’ll easily get $4500 – $5000, most bets are run at the last moment aren’t they?

the problem with this is that it’s hard to track the potential profit. yes, you will get nice exposure, but most people in this biz already know about it from this blog and that’s about as much as you are going to get.

If you can make that much for just wearing someone’s apparel I wonder how much you could make for getting a brand’s tattoo. Probably millions a year you could be set for life. But if the brand pulls like an Enron then you would be screwed because it would ruin not only your image but your skin where the tattoo was; worst case scenario.

Thanks
