Everyones favorite community for poker and casino news just started doing HD videos wrapping up the news for the week. I know a lot of poker affiliates are following the legal stuff lately and its nice to just watch a quick video telling you whats going on rather then reading (for me anyway).
Hi I am Jeremy Schoemaker and ShoeMoney.com is my blog. 99% of the post here are done by me but you will see others occasionally make guest posts. This blog is fun to write but for my day job I run several online companies.
alot of countries internationally have recently begun trying to pass the laws that the US has been putting in place for online gaming as well. Hopefully the US fire doesn’t spread too much, otherwise online gaming would be extinct. What is up with the government censoring the internet?
I, personally, don’t see what the big deal is. If people want to gamble online, they are going to figure out a way to do it. If the gov’t monitored/regulated it, then they could collect taxes on it.
Interesting – I used to be big into the online poker personally, never did win any of the big prizes though. I always made it to top 10 or 20, and came out with a few hundred.
I threw in the towel after I got frustrate at losing on the river so much lol
This is new? I’ve been watchiong Weekly Perspectives from APCW since 2006. They go into much more depth that just this shallow brushing. These guys didn’t even have the latest news on Kentucky.
Online gaming should be legal, but should be taxed like any other means of generating revenue.”"
Different countries, are different. Our country are Prohibited
I agree it’s a great idea to have video for recaps, I don’t have the time to read long articles. I would like to see more companies / Blogs trend in this direction of video recaps.
Video worked fine for me. I do love poker but Im a little weary to put any money into an online account…seems like the programmers could fix those sites to their pleasure.
Okay thanks I see it now but went to the site earlier to see what it’s all about. I agree great idea to have video for recaps, I don’t like reading much anyway. Big market in Asia so a lot of affiliates are turning here.
A takeaway from this video is that with video you can get away with just a short soundbite. Written word people expect more details and substance. This would be a great way to tease people to a site for more information or allowing you to be a market leader without having to provide every detail. Also, the highlight/recap format is nice because one would not have to play the “first to break the news” game. Just collect the news and deliver on a consistent basis.
CAP is the best of the best! I’ve been to 2 international conventions in Barcelona. Its a whole different ballgame than traditional affiliate programs!
The online poker industry is really a joke to me. I tried a couple hands and just think it’s all rigged. I’m sure you’ve seen the latest 60 minutes when those people got away with roughly 20 million.
It’s not comparable to a 52 card deck in front of you which is almost impossible to rig. But people still throw money into their accounts.
Online gaming should be legal, but should be taxed like any other means of generating revenue. By making it illegal, lots of revenue from the $18 billion industry is being missed out on.
But there should be strict terms and regulations, because they are accessible to anyone on the net, therefore kids illegible to vote can actually be able to gamble anonymously or using their parents identity.

I live in Canada where gambling winnings aren’t taxed, I’m very happy for that as I make my living from betting on sports.

Not bad… a nice recap and the volume and quality were both high. Would be cool to see a show for all combined affiliate networks as well.

I hate that they’re passing those silly laws. I just hope that pokerstars doesn’t block us players. Then I’ll really be mad.
December 5, 2008 at 2:24 pm
I’m with you. The laws are bogus, but hopefully things change for the igaming industry in 09.
December 5, 2008 at 8:33 am
No offence but that was pretty shit. More like self promotion than news.
December 5, 2008 at 10:07 am
I completely agree with you.
December 8, 2008 at 10:15 am
Very true but you can’t help it because all they doing is promotion to get high rank

December 5, 2008 at 11:40 am
you think it’s rigged because you suck at poker. The scandals that took place were on high limit tables and only on absolute poker and ultimate bet.
December 5, 2008 at 11:57 am
HAHA your a fucking idiot. All of them are rigged…
December 5, 2008 at 12:01 pm
They are all rigged sir…Keep thinking they aren’t…
Those companies have to pay some people to make it look like a legitmate business.
December 5, 2008 at 11:50 pm
I totally agree with you,of course they are rigged, only idiots gamble online.
December 18, 2008 at 2:42 am
Than you you must be f. stupid if you think that way! Same could
apply for any national lottery, which is not the case.
Maybe one day you will expand your view and look left and right
but not only straight in front of you.

December 5, 2008 at 8:23 am
It’s working for me.
December 5, 2008 at 8:41 am
This hits home for me. I’m from Kentucky, and we are always having issues with online gambling.
I don’t see what the big deal is. The internet shouldn’t be sectioned off like that.
December 5, 2008 at 2:26 pm
