WordPress has just released version 2.6.5. This contains security fixes and you need to upgrade now.

Great! What fun upgrading yet again right before 2.7 officially comes out. When is that btw?
That is good because wordpress has been having a lot of issues lately. It is good they addressed the problem.
Yes, that’s also what people told me, they don’t want to update and they are waiting for the 2.7 version!

Wp 2.7 will take another month i suppose. better to upgrade, this is not a feature upgrade, but a security fix
And security is very crucial. So people might as well upgrade now to this 2.6.5 version and will later upgrade to 2.7.

That plugin is amazing. You can’t go wrong with it since it allows you to download your current installation as backup.

The automatic updates wont work all the time. better have enough backups before hand

I heard about this update awhile ago. I haven’t made the change yet, but I will soon.
When I saw this post I was like “great” but after the other posts it doesn’t look too bad.
If it was`nt for the fact that wordpress is the best blogging software i would have been put off by now with the amount of security updates.

Probably will not break many or any for that matter. Wordpress is particularly careful when introducing updates that may break design or include drastic changes, and will warn designers well in advance. They will also not make drastic changes in one update (front-end, anyways), and instead will spread them over several to give you a chance to adapt.
How does Wordpress do Alpha and Beta testing on major version upgrades?
There will be an aditional style sheet provided, which you ll have to place it in your home folder of your theme. And things will be fine

I don’t get this logic. ANY system can have flaws. And to be honest, I’d rather use one that actually puts out security updates.

Wordpress seems to be getting better and better with each new version. I dig it, will upgrade asap.
I really thought that they had the “auto update” feature already added in the previous versions of the script… well I’m just happy to not be a blogger anymore
