wp 2.7 rockz
December 6, 2008 at 5:27 am
I really thought that they had the “auto update” feature already added in the previous versions of the script… well I’m just happy to not be a blogger anymore
December 3, 2008 at 2:56 am
Wordpress seems to be getting better and better with each new version. I dig it, will upgrade asap.
December 2, 2008 at 7:55 pm
I updated my wordpress
, I want version 2.7
December 2, 2008 at 8:50 am
Thanks for the heads up. Just did the 2 files – no biggie.
November 30, 2008 at 9:23 pm
Anotherr upgrade lal, Thanks for the heads up anyways
November 28, 2008 at 2:52 pm
Thanks for he heads up.
November 27, 2008 at 11:24 pm
I upgraded as soon as I saw the message in the Dashboard. You can never be too safe.
November 27, 2008 at 9:32 am
Seems like this is on the front page of all the major blogs these days!! A must have guys – don’t delay!!
November 27, 2008 at 1:57 am
I haven’t upgraded yet but I will do this asap.
November 26, 2008 at 11:37 pm
Its better they do not say it is a security fix. Else hackers would take advantage of bogs which have not upgraded.
November 26, 2008 at 9:02 pm
Another upgrade… I just hope fantastico moves fast when it comes on their upgrades…
November 26, 2008 at 7:46 pm
The weekly upgrade of wordpress, this is becoming fun
November 26, 2008 at 7:31 pm
thanks..but i still use older version
November 26, 2008 at 6:05 pm
OMG!!!
I just got a beautiful theme, and now upgrading again!!!!
I will not do it.
November 26, 2008 at 11:42 pm
you can leave wp-content as such and replace all other files..
November 26, 2008 at 5:20 pm
I have the 2.6.4 version so I am good. Good loooking out for us though shoe.
November 26, 2008 at 5:58 am
People like SEOBlackHat.com still have much older versions. Hmm, wonder why…
November 26, 2008 at 11:41 pm
nothing, they are just lazy to upgrade and some features destroy compatibility..
November 26, 2008 at 4:33 am
Great! Cheers for the notice.
I’ve installed the auto update plugin on all blogs now, so that will save some time.
November 26, 2008 at 3:54 pm
Definitely a good idea, my favourite plugin ever!
November 26, 2008 at 2:13 am
Always need the heads up, don’t know were else I would get notices. The auto ones I get in WP always seem to be late in coming. Maybe I don’t pay attention.
November 26, 2008 at 12:26 am
thanks for great information…….
November 25, 2008 at 10:58 pm
I m not going to upload the new version, since wp update too often. i will wait untill 3.0 release LOL
November 25, 2008 at 10:29 pm
ahahaha URGENT!!! Shoemoney with the alert!
November 25, 2008 at 9:08 pm
they keep commin with new updates every 15 days
November 25, 2008 at 8:48 pm
Thanks for the head’s up, gang! I guess its once again “Time to make the doughnuts”!
November 25, 2008 at 8:41 pm
I will wait for 2.7
oh, they are taking too long.
November 25, 2008 at 10:59 pm
LOL no you should not wait for 2.7, lets wait for 3.0 Lol
November 25, 2008 at 8:34 pm
Geez, how many times we gotta upgrade in one year?
November 25, 2008 at 7:45 pm
I’m glad I installed the bug-free 2.6.4 version. I’m solid.
November 25, 2008 at 7:35 pm
Thanks for the heads up. It can be a pain to stay on top of security fixes for everything we install on our sites and servers
November 25, 2008 at 7:29 pm
Thanks for the heads up. I don’t update my blogs as I am lazy
November 25, 2008 at 7:19 pm
Sheesh….We gotta upgrade…before the upgrade? lol.
November 25, 2008 at 6:51 pm
I can vouch for the new wordpress as I just set mine up!! I heard about your site from john chow’s blog – that adsense cheque is insane – way to go man!!!
November 25, 2008 at 6:05 pm
Another reason why I’m happy to use Dotclear and not Wordpress
November 26, 2008 at 11:41 pm
Whats dotclear? a cms? i have never heard. how is the support for themes and plugins?
November 27, 2008 at 12:42 pm
It’s quite similar to Wordpress (i even think they might have a common ancestor
).
Many themes available, a decent number of plugins too.
You definitely should have a look @ it
November 27, 2008 at 11:23 pm
I don’t get this logic. ANY system can have flaws. And to be honest, I’d rather use one that actually puts out security updates.
November 25, 2008 at 5:49 pm
Good thing I didn’t update to WordPress 2.6.3. I’ve been lazy.
November 25, 2008 at 5:39 pm
Thanks for the update, let me know through my Google Reader. Who’s looking forward to 2.7? WordPress never fail to deliver!
November 25, 2008 at 4:30 pm
I wonder how badly 2.7 will break many themes(?)
November 26, 2008 at 7:06 pm
Probably will not break many or any for that matter. Wordpress is particularly careful when introducing updates that may break design or include drastic changes, and will warn designers well in advance. They will also not make drastic changes in one update (front-end, anyways), and instead will spread them over several to give you a chance to adapt.
November 27, 2008 at 10:19 pm
How does Wordpress do Alpha and Beta testing on major version upgrades?
November 26, 2008 at 11:40 pm
There will be an aditional style sheet provided, which you ll have to place it in your home folder of your theme. And things will be fine
November 25, 2008 at 3:06 pm
thankssssssss
November 25, 2008 at 3:06 pm
If it was`nt for the fact that wordpress is the best blogging software i would have been put off by now with the amount of security updates.
November 25, 2008 at 2:25 pm
When I saw this post I was like “great” but after the other posts it doesn’t look too bad.
November 25, 2008 at 2:04 pm
I heard about this update awhile ago. I haven’t made the change yet, but I will soon.
November 25, 2008 at 1:44 pm
will be upgrading later tonight after I go to watch a football (soccer) game, the real football
.
November 26, 2008 at 11:39 pm
You have all the time before you upgrade. Better early
November 25, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Heard about this earlier and made the appropriate changes. Thanks for the heads up though
November 25, 2008 at 1:16 pm
Thanks for warning Jeremy.
November 25, 2008 at 1:09 pm
Thanks for the heads up. Just did the 2 files – no biggie.
November 25, 2008 at 12:49 pm
Gees — Wordpress puts out more versions and security patches than Microsoft.
November 25, 2008 at 3:49 pm
You got that right Rick. Makes that automatic upgrade plug in handy!
November 25, 2008 at 4:01 pm
Bad Idea.. I wouldn’t trust that thing farther than I can throw it..
(I can’t throw it.)
November 25, 2008 at 6:46 pm
Amen to that I cannot imagine doing those upgrades without that auto plug-in. Thanks Show for the heads up.
November 26, 2008 at 1:43 am
thanks for the automatic upgrade plug in tip. Didn’t even know that was around. I’ve used it and it works great.
November 27, 2008 at 11:22 pm
That plugin is amazing. You can’t go wrong with it since it allows you to download your current installation as backup.
November 25, 2008 at 4:34 pm
haha…you made me laugh. The 2.7 should be coming soon as well.
November 26, 2008 at 11:39 pm
The automatic updates wont work all the time. better have enough backups before hand
November 29, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Yup, wordpress does this too quickly
November 29, 2008 at 12:12 pm
I hear that Rick. My automatic upgrade plugin logs many hours of overtime!
December 3, 2008 at 4:01 am
Lol! That’s absolutely right! But I guess they work over time to make sure they’re always on top of the game.
November 25, 2008 at 12:37 pm
Thanks for he heads up.
November 25, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Shouldn’t be too long, just 2 files to replace. Thanks for letting us know.
November 25, 2008 at 12:33 pm
Thanks for the heads up!
*sighs*
*goes off to download another unexpected update before 2.7*
December 3, 2008 at 4:00 am
yeah, Wordpress has many updates for each version before new one comes to release.
November 25, 2008 at 12:32 pm
Great! What fun upgrading yet again right before 2.7 officially comes out. When is that btw?
November 26, 2008 at 11:13 am
That is good because wordpress has been having a lot of issues lately. It is good they addressed the problem.
November 26, 2008 at 1:45 pm
Yes, that’s also what people told me, they don’t want to update and they are waiting for the 2.7 version!
http://www.zakshow.com/2008/11/26/wordpress-265-released/
November 26, 2008 at 11:38 pm
Wp 2.7 will take another month i suppose. better to upgrade, this is not a feature upgrade, but a security fix
December 3, 2008 at 3:59 am
And security is very crucial. So people might as well upgrade now to this 2.6.5 version and will later upgrade to 2.7.
