By Jeremy Schoemaker 60 comments

it would look like SearchMe.

searchme

This week searchme launched their iPhone search application which looks pretty sweet. Check out the vid:

If I had a iPhone I would use it ;)

  1. mrkbsm says:

Interesting - I’ve used SearchMe on occasion but won’t have occasion to use their iphone app… no iphone for me. Maybe someday they’ll be on a network with better coverage in the midwest :)

  2. Yea, I’d use it too but that’s not the case right now…

BTW, when will the answers for round 17 come?

  3. It looks cool but is it going to have as irrelevant searches as that other search engine fail made by former Google employees (I forget it’s name now).

  4. Same here if i had Iphone i would so use search me really cool search engine great video shoe

  5. browie says:

Sweet. I love iPhones but like you I can’t get one. I tried it for a week here in NE but didn’t get anything between my city and Linc and Omaha. Now i just have a sexy Berry.

  6. Kevin Murphy says:

Makes me want to buy an iPhone, actually.

  7. The Frog says:

Yep it’s a cool app and it was pre-installed on the iPod sponsored by search me you sent me! :)
Pretty slick application…And thanks for the iPod again!

  8. DollarDevil says:

My iphone met the pavement at a shattering speed. I dropped it from my balcony to my driveway below. I’m back using my old KRZR. I’ve seen more useful paperweights. =/

  9. Elliot says:

Thanks for letting us know about this app, im off to get it right now;), oh dont forget the new google voice search app too everyone;))

  10. If i had Iphone i would love to use search me

  11. ACK! All those websites logging hits for previewed page loads. Add that to the list of filters for hits logging in custom scripts.

  12. Steve says:

I predict that Searchme won’t last. Who wants to flip page by page to find what they’re looking for? People want simplicity…they don’t want some fancy looking site that takes forever to search. It’s not practical.

Searchme is only hype in my opinion.

  13. Technogadge says:

Oh man, this is really looks cool. But it is not suitable for serious search, as it takes time to load images and the results are also not relevant in some cases.

  14. meethere says:

thats a pretty good application from my fav search engine. :D

  15. Dr. House says:

Yes, it is cool. Looking good. I will try it.

  16. Wow. The interface and the image is so clear. I’m going to give it a look

  17. BusinessX says:

I am currently using public wi-fi that is intermittent, must be a bad spot. So, searchme is slow loading, it must demand serious bandwidth to use it.

  18. Advertising says:

    Anything Apple develops is sweet.

  19. Dude that’s cool. I love the look of the iPhone. the tech used is just awesome. Anyway that searchme app is cool

  20. Appears resource intensive.

  21. Freeman says:

    downloading now…. =)

  22. HSD says:

    very niceeeeeeeeee

  23. LayupDrill says:

Nice…too bad Im a crackberry addict myself

  24. Joe Tech says:

Nice. I saw that a couple months back, bookmarked it and then forgot all about it. I’ll have to try out the iPhone app. If I ever get my hands on a working mac, I’ll be able to put my iPhone developer license to use one day, too.

  25. You may have given Apple a new idea just now. They’re either going to create their own or buy searchme.

    -Mike

  26. rg says:

    Thank you! Very interesting…

  27. BlogAngry says:

It looks pretty cool, I will look for it and download it.

  28. teamray says:

    Searchme has a patent thou.

  29. GPS says:

What?!? Why haven’t you taken the iphone for a spin yet?

  30. Önder says:

WOW!!! Its really great and cool. I am thinking like you Jeremy.

  31. Ben Pei says:

Me too.. I had a Iphone I would use it too!

  32. Mega Champ says:

It looks cool, it will require a decent wifi network ot work like it is shown in video. Otherwise in the crappy 3g speeds, it will kill the whole purpose of the app.

  33. Praveen says:

I am fan kind of fan of Apple even though I have no gadget of it. I am always interested to learn about it and its products. Steve is a great enterprenuer and my role model. I would like to buy some of its products one day and become as him.

He is living genius and all his products are sensations on their own. I think there will be more cool applications on iphone in coming days and is already is a cool phone available around.

  34. Zurpit says:

Wow looks like a great app, if i had a iphone I would use it

  35. Takumi86 says:

Looks cool and have a lot of interface also :)

  36. Thanks for the article, interesting.

  37. That does look cool. Does the i phone have the song recognition technology as well? I know I saw a commercial for some phone that will recognize the singer and song just by holding the phone where it can hear the music. Technology is amazing and only getting better.

  38. zawadi says:

nice phone, never used one before though..

  39. gendut says:

    will be great ……

  40. Ferdi says:

I think it wouldn’t look like searchme

  41. gendut says:

How about apple vs google in searching competition?

  42. Red says:

It looks just like Cuil.com but better. Their app on the iPhone is brilliant and will probably keep them from disappearing into oblivion before they even start, like Cuil.

  43. Searchme is flashy and slow. that’s why i think that most of the people will just get back to google. Google has that feature too.
