The Elite Retreat 2009 event is officially taking new registrations!   I expect this years event to be another sell out. We have a great cast of industry leaders.  This years event takes place in San Francisco February 18th-20th at the The Hotel Vitale.   We have a few nice surprises for the guests this year I will be revealing in the next couple weeks.

1st day Keynote: Gary Vaynerchuck
2nd day Keynote: TBA

Leaders:

Stephan Spencer – SEO Expert
Chris Winfield – PR Ninja
Neil Patel – Marketing Consultant, SEO, Social Media whiz
Andy Liu – Startup Expert
Kris Jones – PPC, Affiliate expert
Jeremy Schoemaker – this is me!

So what is different this year? Well to start things off we will be adding a 3rd optional day to the event we are calling the Elite Retreat Field Trip. We will be going to some of the top companies in the Silicon Valley area and I think this will add a nice layer of value. We will be announcing the full schedule for this last day soon.

You can check out the official press release of 2009 Elite Retreat event here.

If you are thinking about attending this year you should register ASAP.

$5,000!?!?!? Are you freakin’ crazy?

Oh wait, I’m going for the third year in a row because there is not event that can compare.

$5K for a ticket is a ridiculous amount.

Up the ante…instead of a fee, offer contingency

Take a % equity in these selected 35 attendees’ companies. If you’re as good as you are, then your stake will be worth much more – everybody wins…

Lawrence–

Then I’m sure you sell all of your services on a contingency basis. Good for you!

NOTHING compares to the value of Elite Retreat. It is also unrivaled in the number of people it inspires to complain about something they can’t (or choose not to) afford. Ante up and see why or invest your time in whining about it. Your choice.

what’s so good about it? i’ve heard of patel but not these other guys. not trying to bash it, just curious. how many people usually attend?

So many retreats and conferences cost at least $5k. It is the quality of the information you pay for….and the networking. So don’t be too shocked

What you’re describing is an Affiliate Marketing Product. Sign-up for one of those. They’ll offer you some hand holding and tips on how to sell their products.

But, thats not what this is.

Also, talk with a tax consultant and you might be able to write some of the expense off.

i knew there would be a fee, but what do you think you get in return for $5000? Networking with great folks can churn ideas? i thought they kept secrets..

1 on 1 interaction with the best online marketers in the world. They literally break down your site for you and answer all of your questions.

One change to an established site will earn you back the $5k within a month or two.

Obviously if youre new, and dont have the money, I wouldnt risk my rent trying to go. But if you have the dough, you’d be crazy not to go.

This is an awesome line up this year, and Gary V is awesome. Definitely worth the money on this one. I actually took notes last year and got a lot out of it.

ABSOLUTE RIPOFF!

Just kiddin…. I went last year and it was the best conference I’ve ever been to. The mastermind call that follows after the event is easily worth $5k in itself.

I’ll be there again this year! I can’t wait to hear from Stephan Spencer and Kris Jones. PPC is where I need a lot of help in, so Im hoping Kris and everyone else can help me out in that area.

If you can afford it, you’re crazy not to come… I wrote a pretty indepth review of last year’s elite retreat if youd like to check it out…

Appreciate the heads up on a past year review. I like your comment on how a high $5K price tag weeds out and keeps it to people who are serious about building their business.

Reply

25 Justin Goff November 17, 2008 at 3:46 pm

Its so true. All these idiots bitching about the $5k price tag
are the exact people you go to this conference to get away frome.

This way it’s only serious marketers who understand the value
of networking and learning from the best in a small group
situation.

They’re not idiots for balking at the price tag. The timing to this event isn’t the greatest. With the current market correction taking place, people don’t have as much free cash at the moment.

28 teraom November 17, 2008 at 3:44 pm

so, this is some convincing stuff. You get to learn about PPC. Can not a blogger company or a marketing blog teach you the same?

Reply

29 Michael Henry November 17, 2008 at 4:10 pm

Of course! Because who taught them? Who gave them the ambition to learn? You might already know everything you need to and simply need the confidence and patience to see things through.

30 Justin Goff November 17, 2008 at 4:47 pm

Can a blog look at your PPC campaigns in depth in a one on one situation and give you feedback on where you should make changes to make more money?

Can a blog give you the benefit of meeting some of the best internet marketers in person?

Can a blog give you a mastermind call each week where you talk with the same guys where you can learn and motivate each other to better your site?

If it can, Id like to see it.

Gary Vaynerchuck has some of the most informative and entertaining videos out there. Think Billy Mayes without a teleprompter.

His video pep-talk about being yourself is one I refer to often.

Agreed. Gary V with Shoe would be worth $5K to be in a small crowd of 35.

Just cause you don’t have the money for something like this, doesn’t mean you can’t hang with the big boys in terms of smartness, motivation and dedication. Take your lousy remarks somewhere else Larry…

Ironic that you run a blog about making money online, yet you cant afford to go to a conference.

Should prolly focus on making money online before you try to teach others.

49 Ryan McLean November 17, 2008 at 5:47 pm

$5,000 is way to much for me seeing as I make less than $1,000 per month online. Maybe next year I might be able to make it

Reply

50 Bill November 18, 2008 at 4:59 pm

If you’re making nei on a G a month, you should be going! You’re already doing okay, you need to push it to the next level.

Unless under $1,000 is more like $50 / month then maybe you should wait a bit….

Jeremy,

I would love to go, I even live nearby in Northern CA, but my budget for this is zero. I’m unemployed, and my on-line business profits to date, are to say the least ‘challenging’.

Hoping that this time next year I will have good news!

Take your $5000 and blow it Vegas. Blowing your money while looking at hot women and getting free drinks is more fun then 3 days with some geek wind bags who are just there to fleece you wide eyed noobs.

I am amazed at all the haters complaining about the price or not knowing the speakers. They should do one of two things- 1). aspire to work hard and attend next year, or 2). don’t worry about it.

Trying to tear down the retreat raises no one up.
