Social Spark Launches New Affiliate Oppourtunities

by Jeremy Schoemaker on October 19, 2008 · 62 comments

Socialspark last friday relaunched a new design and also new affiliate opportunities for bloggers:

I think a lot of readers will find the Affiliate Opportunities very interesting:

Affiliate Opportunities

I am proud to announce the alpha release of SocialSpark Affiliate Opportunities. I first previewed this IZEAFest and I am happy to say we are ready to roll. A few things about the affiliate program:

  • First affiliate marketplace designed exclusively for bloggers.
  • Required in-post disclosure on all affiliate links and 100% transparency.
  • Bloggers get paid for generating sales and signups.
  • Advertisers control ROI through performance based pricing (CPA)

So what does this mean? Well for most bloggers they don’t understand affiliate marketing. They can easily pick a interesting product and write about it…. disclosing that it is an affiliate link and get paid.

Here is an example:

And they have very HIGH QUALITY advertisers and products. I look forward to seeing how this works out!

So if you are ready to start making money with SocialSpark get over and register your blog right now!

I am I the first to comment? Will there be affiliate products for personal bloggers in Social Spark?

I would better promote my products then getting 50% or so :D

3 Ryan McLean October 20, 2008 at 5:50 pm

@ Meethee – I would also promote my products over anyone elses. But you can make a lot of money by selling others products also.
@ Shoemoney – I don’t see what makes this different to any other affiliate network??

My friend told me that because there are a lot of people already there, it takes time for a blogger to be on queue and I mean really long time ( a month or 2)

Reply

12 Dick October 20, 2008 at 6:03 am

Two months is not very long by the standards of a virtual business. -))

Seems like a great idea but the hard part is trying to explain affiliate links to everyday consumers.

Reply

14 Melvin October 19, 2008 at 8:33 am

I think consumers and readers need not to bother whether its an affiliate link or not… for bloggers on the other hand they can always learn with it by doing a research much like what they have done when they started a blog… :-)

There are just so many affiliate networks out there it’s crazy. I could say: “I’ll try it Shoe, thanks for sharing!”, but you know, I don’t know. So thanks for sharing, but I’ll put it in the list of “to try” affiliate networks.

Does the advertiser provide enough content for us to figure out what the product is, or do we have to do a lot of research? This kind of thing is ok as long as you don’t have to spend three hours researching the product.

Reply

17 Melvin October 19, 2008 at 4:48 pm

Its just like any other thing. The advertiser gives a brief explanation of what they have and its all up to you to do your research… :-(

Being a member of Payperpost AND SocialSpark for some time, I think this is a great move. If you cannot get a chance to blog about an advertiser, you can still hit up a product review to get paid CPA.

Nice addition, they are covering all markets nicely. I recommend that all bloggers give it a shot.

I was just looking for an affiliate program that was trustworthy. I don’t think you would invovle yourself in something that you didn’t think was legit, so I will look into this. Are the payment per post based on the page rank of your blog or is it a set offer?

I loved their new design, Izea did a great job with it. Social Spark has also teamed up with a lot of big bloggers like Shoemoney. I checked the price for a sponsored review on premium bloggers and it costs around $1,065!

Reply

33 Dick October 20, 2008 at 6:04 am

Oh, this is a very good amount of money. Good….

34 Robert MacEwan October 19, 2008 at 5:37 pm

Transparency is a must have for those testing the waters. Leaking/sharing Page Rank by not using the “no follow”, which wasn’t allowed by Pay Per Post until recently, is bad for your blog. Izea’s decision to provide opportunities for bloggers just shows that they did learn their mistakes – unfortunate for Google PR’d blogs of the past these changes are too late. Bravo for seeing the light Izea.

35 QuickPWN October 19, 2008 at 11:49 pm

If I was an advertiser I would want a do-follow link but then again I would just be looking to increase my sales or get visitors so I guess no-follow is the best way to go. It will keep the link juice to your page and not pass it on to other websites.

I’m surprised that Jeremy hasn’t started using affiliate IDs in his outbound links for these type of service reviews, similar to how John Chow would refer his readers.
