Really looking forward to tonights ufc89 event but I think they should rename it to “Overrated”. The 2 featured fighters Brandon Vera and Michael Bisping in my opinion are the most overrated fighters in he UFC.
Sam Stout (who worked with us at the ThinkTank event) will be fighting on the undercard:
I doubt we will see his fight televised, which is kind of a bummer, but you never know. There is a lot of very heavy handed fighters in this event and if the fights go quick they will air more of the under card matches.
The main event
Michael Bisping vs Chris Leben should be a short fight. Bisping is a good striker but IMO the UFC has been giving him a lot of cupcake opponents to keep the UK market. He should dominate Chris Leben but Leben has been training at Xtreme Couture and I am sure he is well prepared for cupcake bisping. For a money bet I would take Leben. I do not think he should be nearly as favored as he is.
Another fight I am really looking forward to is Keith Jardine vs Brandon Vera. I cant stand Brandon Vera and think he will get pounded by Keith Jardine.

Why do you think they are overrated? The are both good fighters. Is it because you might be biased based on the fact they most likely wont be showing the guy you knows fight??
As far as winning. I do like Bisping better but I have a feeling Leben will win in the second round by KO…. (and I hate his cornrows..haha)

I was into UFC when it first “came out”, but lost interest. Now for some reason I find myself strangely drawn back into it..
Michael Bisping is an fing bum and stole a fight from Hamill . he should be ashamed of himself for getting this screwed job of a decision.

Bisping’s fight in UFC 85 was a disappointment, bisping IS WAY too hyped up, so much so the UK crowd would go nuts if he kicked the crap out of a teenager they tossed in the ring with him. I’ve been a fan of leberman, hes fun to watch because he’s wild and hits hard… but in all honesty he’s a terrible fighter, his standing defense is weak, and his ground is even worse. I say bisping catches leben in a flurry.

I honestly have no idea who these fighters are, but I always seem to like rooting for the underdog, so go Sam Stout!

Two fights not mentioned are Soko vs Cane and, hopefully they’ll televise this one, Gono vs Hardy. Those will be great fights.
Michael Bisping looks like an intense fighter..even though I don’t follow the game, just by looking at fighters.com
Well this is a free event so its not overated , I beleive leben was training in hawaii for awhile and bisping will completly manhandle leben , leben is a horrible striker and bisping is one of the fastest and most crisp striker in the ufc , not to mention he just moved down to 185 two fights ago and is even faster. I would have to think that bisping would be favoured to win not leben also . And brandon vera should beat up on keith jardine . Love the picture with sam stout , good stuff

Bisping’s a punk… I used to like him a lot, that is until he got BEAT my Matt Hamill a few UFC’s ago. Somehow the fight got decided in his favor, even though he spent most of it getting dominated by superior wrestling. Maybe it was because the fight was in the UK, I dunno.
What REALLY sucked was his attitude. All of a sudden he was poking fun at Hamill and smugly taunting the naysayers who said he’d lose the fight. In reality he should’ve been humbly accepting a victory that wasn’t his, and skulking back to the locker room.
On the flip side of the coin Matt Hamill didn’t complain a bit, despite being robbed by the judges. He graciously congratulated Bisping, and didn’t whine a single bit. Total class, that guy – and a great fighter.
Sooooo… I hope ChrisThe Crybaby Liben beats Bisping’s ass tonight. Badly. But unfortunately for him, Bisping’s the better fighter. My guess is Chris goes down toward the latter half of round one.
i had to go to the ufc site to find out what ufc is all about and even saw the preview of the game .isnt ufc89 half boxing plus half wwe????

Bisping and Leben wont go past the first round – it could go either way but I see Bisping knocking out Leben
I don’t like Bisping, but I’d guess that he & Jardine will easily win their fights.
Jardin’s a tough call. Great fighter, but he’s got a glass jaw. At any moment he goes down like Glass Joe from the original Punch-Out.
I am actually looking forward to the Jardin vs Vera fight more than the Bisping. My money is on Jardin but it wont be an easy win.

first time I’ve watched a Ufc event live; was on for free on uea tv. I thought it was a simple fight between technique and brawl, with the technique coming out good for the Brit
Judging the other fights I reckon that a lot of the time the brawn will win.
Does Leben like being ugly? The guy’s face is a fist magnet. Tough chin or not, someone should tell him that you are allowed to block punches. It was funny how he just held his face out there for free punches at the end, though.
Luckily for him, people are usually too busy pointing and laughing at his hair to notice all the knuckle-prints on his face.
I can’t help it, but that guy in red doesnt really look like a fighter…

I thought that the fight was okay. A little boring. They were too closely matched for anything really interesting to happen.
I am not a fan of Chris Leben – because he has always been such a jerk. That said, he was in top shape – that at least was impressive.
The other thing I was impressed was his iron jaw. Not many MMA fighter could withstand the punishment his face did.
Fight was totally boring and a waste of time to watch. All Bisping did was run around and peck Leben facea every now and then…
And Leben…that dude needs medication….The man had know strategy for the fight other then to run after Bisping and try to hit em with a big shot….kinda like Liddel strategy lately…..
hmmm…let’s see…i’ll use one hand for the fight and i’m sure i can punch him in the face and knock him out…
