CostumeStudio.com – Free Shirt Friday

by Jeremy Schoemaker on October 17, 2008 · 69 comments

We were contacted earlier this week by GoodSociety that this year launched CostumeStudio.com which will sell Halloween costumes online.  They are donating 100% of their profits to war-torn Uganda, through the charity Invisible Children.  To help their cause, we agreed to pose in costumes to raise awareness.

They have really awesome costumes, and how can you go wrong with a company that is donating 100% to a charity.  Go take a look at CostumeStudio.com and buy your Halloween costumes from them!

And if you want some more info on Uganda and the Invisible Children Charity, check them out here.

Buy A Costume.  Save A Life.

Well the Hot Dog costume could be a mixture of T-shirt parts:

1. No long sleeves, like a T-shirt
2. Very long, like what a rapper might wear
3. Is similar to how Beavis does “The Great Cornholio” with his T-Shirt

I do not have any reason for not buying the costumes for a company giving all their profits to charity.

What about the fact that you don’t need a costume?

Check out the “SEXY” category. it is very good. (Make sure you go to the “WOMEN” section if you’re straight. If you’re not straight then it’s cool with me if you go to the “MEN” section)

This is great! The best Free Shirt Friday so far!

Though I think they could have done a little bit better with the hot dog costume by using stiffer material or even foam possibly so that it would keep its shape.

Not to rain on anyone’s party, but how do we know they will give 100% to charity? Will they reveal their financial reports?

If they do everything as they claim, I commend their efforts in raising awareness and providing direct support to a great cause.

Good luck to costumestudio for their great goal. If I were in US I surely bought a costume from them. You and your team took a good decision to help them.

You can never go wrong dressing up like a giant hotdog, especially if it’s a giant charitable hotdog.

Reply

43 QuickPWN October 17, 2008 at 5:07 pm

Wow, I never thought I’d see Shoemoney dressing up as a hotdog. By the way, hotdogs taste real good with ketchup, why does Shoemoney just have mustard? :P

Great concept, however, the costumes are way too expensive. Even if they cut the prices in half they are too expensive.

My favourite has to be the Wheaties costume! For those of us who don’t want to buy a costume to donate or really “give away” their money to donate and help will find Kiva to be a good replacement.

Kiva uses PayPal and allows you to loan $25 or more to your preferred entrepreneur in a third world-nation. The loan has no interest (so you don’t make any monetary profit) and allows those in need to invest in their own businesses and help their communities without using loan sharks or banks who charge interest.

The loans are normally collected and returned to you in full after 4-12months and you can then reloan your sum to another entrepreneur and have another chance at helping progress another impoverished community’s welfare.

I currently loan like this using any idle money in my PayPal account, I prefer to loan to well deserving people than letting my money sit idle and be used by PayPal to profit on my behalf.

Check http://www.kiva.org/about/how and http://www.kiva.org/lender/zeeshan to see what I mean
