Today I am headed to Las Vegas again where on Monday I will be speaking at the DMA conference on a blog monetization panel with well respected SEO Stephan Spencer and his aspiring 16 yr old entrepreneur daughter Chloe Spencer. Chloe is making a killing with her Neopets Fanatics blog and I am sure will do a great job talking about her experiences making money with her neopets blog.
This also marks the last conference I will be attending of the year. After I made a post about how I am gone 50 days out of the year at conferences my wife actually did a talley and it turns out as of right now I have been gone exactly 79 days in 2008. That’s pretty crazy considering I also took 3 months off when we had our second child last July. Anyway I am done for the year…. Yes this means no pubcon… I know =(
Anyway I interviewed Stephan Spencer at Blogworld:

Hi Shoe,
You should moving to Las Vegas(location, location bbc show)
I can’ believed that “I have been gone exactly 79 days in 2008″
When did you find time to make money online?
How many people working for you to keep you away from your office?
Thanks
Shoe how many video did you make this year more than 50 or 79 videos.
You can make a nice dvd for all your readers and don’t forget shipping my to France.
Thanks
Yup I agree. And not forgetting shipping mine to South Africa. Lol!
That’s a great interview with Spencer and thanks for the NeoPet’s link, I’ve been telling my wife that she should be running something similar for her obsessions lately.
Excellent interview. I see a lot of high-quality video on the site and enjoy watching them.
Now you can have goals… 80+ days at conferences in 2009
I think Show has probably all ready beat that number in 2008!
That’s too much time away man, seriously, it’s like a pro conference tour..
Great Interview Jeremy. I want you to do them again and again.
You have to wait till next year. Quota for this year is complete
It would have been nice with seo sucks shirt…..Naaahhh……
Nice interview maybe more on their proxy services…
cooler than that it would have been if Stephan Spencer would have worn that shirt
Nice job with the interview. Wow, Neopets! My sister used to do that too and I thought it was a very pointless thing to do. I never understood why people used to do that “virtual pet” thing. It looked like a big waste of time to me.
3 feet from gold man, and you walked away!!!
I’m probably the only one who clicked the Neopet Fanatic link, but it leads to the DMA site!
Mark
Nope, not the only one – I ended up at the DMA site as well!
Yea same with me
yup, me too. <>
now the DMA website is going to rank 1st for “Neopets Fanatics blog” keyword
I doubt it, NeopetsFanatics.com will remain at rank 1. But if you check on Google you will notice that Shoemoney is rank 10 for “Neopets Fanatics” and rank 12 for “Neopets Fanatics Blog”.
it is fixed now.
it’s on fourth place now…haha…no wonder if he will take the first place
It’s a good interview!
Definitely, great advice about going to conferences..
I appreciate when you and the other “big time” bloggers share so much about the conferences. Many of us cannot even attend one (though it is an aspiration). From I think blogworld posts (video posts BTW) I learned about voxant and picapp, two services I am now using on sites. Without the insights my MMO knowledge would be lacking and I probably would not yet even know about these services.
One aside about your speaking, do you have a post(s) about your speaking at conferences? What was your first, how did it grow? How many invitations vs. how many accepted? And the best of course, how much do you get paid? More about public speaking in the Shoemoney business model, please.
I’d be interested in knowing this too. I hope Jeremy can share this with us. He will definitely need to make a couple blog posts on this though!
I think this is really interesting issue, which will be its readers. I am also pleased to read about it.
But Jeremy, I thought the SEO Champion was…well, never mind :.)
I thought seo sucks?
LMAO….Yeah so did I??!!
Good interview Jeremy – thanks for the links. Looks like they lead to some pretty good info! Gonna have to check that out later.
This is a great interview, but the link isn’t to her blog its to DMA
It’s probably some SEO tactic that Shoemoney is using.
80 days per year ? Man, that’s crazy…
yea 80 days is insane considering there’s still 2 month left of the year
Great and informative interview.
I just can’t do so many videos
Great Interview
Just goes to show you that if a 16 year old can do it, so can you. You just have to work hard, be patient, and market the hell out of it.
Yea I agree this shows us that with hard work anything can be done
but it’s so hard to stay focused when you see no results or very little results.
You gotta look at the Million Dollar Homepage for inspiration! That guy just came up with a very unique idea and made a lot of money.
Well, nice interview. I’d like to participate in these conferences too, it’s a great place to meet new people.
what stops you ? If you’re in the US, it’s even easier to attend thanks to the high number of them
What stops me is often the HIGH prices to get in and if you have to fly..forget it.
yea that is a good reason not to go, the prices can get pretty high
Have seen Stephan 3 times now. Always take notes in his session and now tape them, because he goes so quickly! First time I saw him at an AMA meeting, he talked about his daughter and her blog. Very inspiring!
useful interview.
Nice interview…..
Shoe….Your dedication is inspiring me and I think that I better start planning to attend some conferences this next year… I’m getting anxious to meet all these people that I’ve been talking to (and reading about) online.
It’s def a good idea, the contacts you’ll make will be priceless
So the Neopets site doesn’t get updated very often, yet still gets $800/mth via Adsense. Nice.
neopets niche must be a high paying one. From what I can see, she only has one 300×250 adsense block per page and the links in the menu.
Yea she must be getting a lot of money per click, that is great
I just noticed that too. She could definitely be earning more if she added Vibrant Media in-text ads and Tribal Fusion ads in there too. Just sticking to one network won’t earn you a lot of money. You have to experiment around and see what works best.
Reliable partner better than two unreliable partners -))
But she has a great SEO advisor in-house.
Nice. Good work.
All i have to say is wow i cannot wait to see the video of the panel.
I used to think I could push my kids into becoming a lawyer or a plastic surgeon. Forget that – blog for money – awesome story. Damn I wish I was younger and could start my career at that age.
The experience that we recruit, gives us an opportunity to look at the past differently. We want to commit acts better and wiser.
So a person works for shoemoney and is now a seo champion? Thats ironic since I declined a interview when Shoemoney asked me.

Give it a week and he will out rank you for your “NAME”
Nice interview
the interview is not showing up for me.. Its a shame I really want to hear this interview! Time to clear some cookies…
Stephan is really big on Title Tags and has a plugin for that.
I really need to get on this affiliate marketing thing… I’ve just been doing so much research that I haven’t gotten the time, now I need to make time. Great post seeing that a young person is doing great things!
nice
good site
nice to know a small girl earning $$$
I have never heard of this Stephan Spencer dude before. Thank you for pointing him out to me Jeremy.
Jeremy,
an you give us the lowdown on what you are using to produce your videos in terms of equipment and software? Quality is much better than before. Are you using any lighting, etc. Might be worthy of a whole post.
thx
wow, being only 17 myself they are both very inspiring.
I like your job very much. Work + enjoyment = Job.
hi ,thanks for this beneficial information.
Neopets, 800$ a month? Man… hehe
We just need to get J and the kids speaking at the conferences.
Ah, to be 16 again…
Great interview!
Really love your site and looks like we might have to make the trip across to the states for some of these blogging conferences, and see what we can do about getting them rolling here in Australia.
Keep up the good work.

I am glad a 16 year old is bringing in them kinda coins….but it does really “prick” me. Makes me feel like I been on an island with Wilson eaten crab for a few years…a cast away…..I need a rescue ship…with alot of coins…
Great interview Shoe, just my internet connection is terrible today so I didn’t get to watch the entire video because I got irritated of the pauses in between. Will watch it again later when my connection has recovered from a hang over. Happy Monday!
How I wish I could be there to learned from that SEO expert
Yea that would have been great, Im sure he knows a greal deal
Thanks for helping the blogger out! I think the Neopets blog is nice, if she know more about monitizing and participate in the blogger community, she can have a greater success…
Today I finally watched it uninterrupted, Yay! Great interview Shoe, very informative. So does this mean you’re taking back the “SEO SUCKS” statement you once made with your t-shirt? LMAO
What makes him a SEO champ I have never heard of him I have won a few SEO contest and have competed in a lot of them
Thanks for your tutorial.i wish you will compile all this your videos and sell it out.I wil be the first person to buy it.
Great interview, thanks…
Good to see them i never know about those personalities once i get to SM i am learning many things …Thanks for the interview

Very interesting! Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work. Vertical Words.

I just tried some DMAA powder and it’s great. I’ve never felt so confident before.
