Website Magazine At Blogworld

by Jeremy Schoemaker on October 6, 2008 · 99 comments

Website Magazine is a great industry rag that I am happy to say I will be writing a article called “Anything But Adsense” for the next issue.

We had a chance to talk to them at blogworld:

About the author...

– who has written 2414 posts on ShoeMoney.com.

Hi I am Jeremy Schoemaker and ShoeMoney.com is my blog. 99% of the post here are done by me but you will see others occasionally make guest posts. This blog is fun to write but for my day job I run several online companies.

its not a bad read, pick it up sometime if you see them at a conference. They even gave me a free subscription for stopping by their booth.

Their magazine is great for people who host websites or looking for information about various website related things.

I believe it is also free to subscribe and they come quarterly if I am not mistaken.

Reply

11 Ant Onaf October 6, 2008 at 6:41 pm

Website magazine is free for subscribers. It is a great magazine with an assortment of Internet related information. I’ve been a subscriber since August of 2007 and received 5 copies since then, awaiting my November subscription.

@ Shoemoney,

I see Kelly might have been a newbie on the camera, but you kept it alive and handled things well. I wouldn’t do much better on camera myself, but she’s hot so who cares :0K

I forget to say Website Magazine is the Wikipédia of the website..

Reply

13 Steven-Sanders October 6, 2008 at 2:31 pm

Awesome that you’ll have an article in Website Magazine. That ought to bring you a whole lot more exposure.

Do I hear you eventually making $1 mil per month from your blog alone?!? :)

Reply

14 Steven-Sanders October 6, 2008 at 2:41 pm

Website Magazine has a referral program. You missed out on an opportunity to get paid for all the people that will subscribe through you.

Wow, can’t believe Shoe missed out on an oppurtunity to make money. SHOE, get to editing the post asap!

Come on now, everything that shoe does doesn’t mean that he has to get some form of kickback for it. He makes enough and just because he didn’t ask for it now doesn’t me that he isn’t going to get many times over later on.
I really liked website magazine. I just put it as my favorites to keep up with everything. thanks again for the heads up

word!

18 Tushar Dhoot October 6, 2008 at 4:25 pm

But this could have been a $1000 blog post. $2 per subsriber, and if 500 people down the line sign up for this magazine (and why wouldn’t they, it’s free).

19 Zurpit October 6, 2008 at 5:16 pm

I agree that would be a lot of money to make from one post
he should do it

A million a month? Wow, Im at like 26 cents a day… though I’m with adsense, and should probably read your article once it publishes.

Reply

26 Steven-Sanders October 6, 2008 at 2:42 pm

Shit! I meant $1 mil per year. But I’m sure you wouldn’t mind per month. :)

Reply

27 Daniel Kemp October 6, 2008 at 6:36 pm

Doesn’t the dude who runs Plenty of Fish make millions a month off of adsense?

Reply

28 TYCP Entertainment Magazine October 7, 2008 at 12:22 am

I remember reading about that. I wonder if he’s still making that kind of money now or if it dropped.

Reply

29 Moneybites October 6, 2008 at 9:24 pm

Lol, yeah, makes sense, a Mil a year is still a high goal but much more achievable, obviously!.

Reply

30 Mayank Rocks October 12, 2008 at 3:34 am

26 cents is low and its probably because of less traffic on your website.

Reply

Reply

Will check it out when I get home since Adsense is doing me absolutely NO good on MG…gotta find another way….a way that works and is discreet anyways, will be anxiously awaiting that article.

Isn’t it interesting how much Twittering changes the way you comment? I find myself using fragments everywhere now instead of full sentences….ew!

I think it’s hilarious that Shoe has made lots of $$$ through Google AdSense and the article is titled “Anything but AdSense”. Just goes to show there are alternatives to make money on the web without Google AdSense.

Reply

43 Tushar Dhoot October 6, 2008 at 9:23 pm

Exactly, which is why people now call Adsense “welfare for bloggers”.

Website Magazine is going Bi-Monthly in 2009.

The digital version is always free. The print version is free to get mailed to you in the USA and Canada. However If you are outside of the US and Canada and you really want to get a print version you do have the option of getting it mailed to you at $49 a year.

I’ve been receiving the magazine fairly regularly. It’s a good read. The ecommerce issue was issue number 4, I believe.

Ironic, that there’s a physical magazine serving the internet community.

There arent so many things to learn everyday, sometimes you just need to read normal things rather something so helpful or something only to learn. However you do still learn a lot from commments and posts, nevertheless.

Hey Shoe glad to see your doing a legit piece in WM. I say legit because isn’t this the same rag that did an ‘interview’ with you a couple years ago complete with a pic of you in front of your Hummer, however it wasn’t really an interview but instead an info-ad that ran without your knowledge? Correct me if I’m wrong.
